  • Patent number: 4378878
Abstract: A novel crown support carrier is disclosed having a generally one-piece construction formed in an inverted U-shaped configuration. A pair of downwardly depending legs are formed on the apex of the U-shape and tape means are applied to the lower corner portions of each leg to tightly pull the downwardly positioned legs against the bottles contained in the carrier to thereby form a tightly secured beverage carrier. The tape means has indicia designating printing positioned thereon in the form of advertising or other copy material. In the preferred embodiments, the carrier is designed for two or six bottle capacity but may be used for other combinations of bottles such as three, four, five or more than six bottles.

  • Patent number: 4328891
Abstract: An improved tab separator element interposes label bearing glass bottles in a paperboard carrier carton. An arcuately shaped fold line not only flares outwardly the front portion of the tab to provide a wider aperture facilitating insertion of the bottle into the carton, but also increases tab resiliency which aids in holding packaged bottles firmly in place within the carton. Leading edges of the tab are rounded and angled to decrease the possibility of tearing or disfiguring paper labels.

  • Patent number: 4305500
Abstract: A carrier for bottles having flanged neck portions is disclosed. The subject carrier includes a generally tubular triangle formed from a horizontal bottom panel hingedly connected to a pair of inclined side panels. The bottom panel is provided with openings which are vertically aligned with flange receiving apertures located at the apex of the triangular configuration. The bottles are received through the openings in the bottom panel, with the flanged neck portions being supported by the edges of the flange receiving apertures in the side walls. A plurality of inner support triangles are provided each including an apex coincident with the apex of the outer triangle and having side walls which are in abutting relationship with, and adhesively connected to, the inner surfaces of the adjacent side walls of the outer triangle. The bottom panel of each inner triangle acts as a support member which inhibits the spreading of the side walls of the outer triangle to prevent the accidental release of the bottles.

  • Patent number: 4234081
Abstract: A carrier of foldable sheet material is provided for accommodating a plurality of necked articles arranged to form at least one row. The carrier includes a base panel which subtends and supports the accommodated articles. Extending upwardly from opposed first peripheral portions of the base panel are end panels which are disposed adjacent the end articles of a row. The upper edges of the end panels are interconnected by an elongated top panel which is disposed in spaced, substantially parallel superposed relation with respect to the base panel. Side panels extend upwardly from opposed second peripheral portions of the base panel. The side panels and end panels are interconnected and retained in upright angular relation with respect to one another. An elongated reinforcing member is foldably connected to the top panel and at least partially folded back under the top panel.

  • Patent number: 4202446
Abstract: A wraparound type carrier package for a group of bottles which are arranged in a double row and in transversely aligned pairs, which package is formed by wrapping about the top, sides, ends and bottom of the bottles, a cut and scored blank of paperboard, or similar foldable sheet material, which blank is divided into wall forming panels with interengaging locking elements in the margins of the end panels and with end closure forming panels hinged to the end edges of sidewall forming panels, the latter being adapted, when the package is formed, to be held in end closing position by downturned narrow hinged panels on the end edges of the top wall forming panel which are provided with latching elements in engagement with the infolded end closure panels.
