Publication number: 20090101528Abstract: A garment enclosure is disclosed having top and bottom panels, first and second side panels, and first and second end panels. The enclosure has a longitudinal axis and an unfolded length. First and second cylindrical members are connected to the top panel and oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. First and second extensible panels are connected to the bottom panel at locations adjacent respective first and second cylindrical members. The extensible panels are extensible in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the garment enclosure. The extensible panels are not connected to the first and second side panels, so that when a garment is placed within the enclosure and the enclosure is folded about the first and second cylindrical members, the extensible panels extend longitudinally to prevent binding of the garment at the fold points. The elimination of binding substantially eliminates wrinkling of the garment. A method of using the garment enclosure is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2007Publication date: April 23, 2009Applicant: HL OPERATING CORP.Inventor: Robert Phillip Davis

Patent number: 5480023Abstract: A cap container includes an elongated container body, a bill container body joined to the elongated container body, and an adjustable frame disposed within the elongated container body. The elongated container body has a front end, rear end, and a wall extending from the front end to the rear end. The wall is made of a supple material, such as cloth, and defines an elongated chamber within the elongated container body. The bill container body defines a cavity which together with the elongated chamber of the elongated container body allow for the compact storage of visored, baseball-type caps in a shingled arrangement. The frame prevents the caps from being crushed and also supports the supple wall. The supple wall in conjunction with the adjustable frame allows the length of the container to vary in order to accommodate the storage of varying numbers of caps. The adjustable nature of container ensures optimum utilization of available storage space.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1994Date of Patent: January 2, 1996Inventor: Alonzo L. Puller

Patent number: 5330049Abstract: A garment bag is provided with a single reinforcing member which extends across the top end of the bag. A carrying handle, a hanger for hanging the bag from a support, and a trolley for hanging garments within the garment bag are all connected directly to the reinforcing member so that the reinforcing member supports the entire weight of the garment bag and its contents both when the bag is hanging in an extended configuration from a support and when the bag is being carried from place to place in a folded configuration. A stiffening member which extends across the width of the bag in the bottom portion thereof and which lies adjacent the top end of the bag when the bag is in a folded configuration prevents the bottom portion of the bag from sagging to present a neat appearance. The use of a single reinforcing member enables the garment bag to be lighter in weight, easier to use and less costly to manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1992Date of Patent: July 19, 1994Assignee: Tumi Luggage, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey A.
