Patent number: 4036254Abstract: The present invention relates to a new container that can be displaced by rotary force, consisting of a continuous sheet that assumes a form similar to a cylindrical surface, generated by a rectangle whose shorter sides have been substituted by convex semicircumferences, when it rotates around an axis that is very close and parallel to one of the long sides. An element is then placed in the direction of the axis and forms the axis of rotation. This element is held fast by the container when the latter is filled with fluid or other matter that induces multidirectional pressures of sufficient magnitude to cause the element installed, when impelled by a force, preferably along the axis but from either direction, to pull with it the enclosed sheet, thus displacing the container by rotary force over the supporting surface.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1975Date of Patent: July 19, 1977Inventor: Francisco Alcalde Pecero

Patent number: 4019280Abstract: A collapsible plant support is provided having a plurality of elongated wire-rod legs which are rigidly secured together at one end. Several helically-wound wire springs of normally elongated configuration are also provided with each spring having the opposite ends adapted to be interconnected and thus form circular rings. These rings are positioned at vertically spaced elevations on the legs which are relatively divergent from their connected ends when the plant support is positioned upright on the ground. Each of the elongated legs is formed with longitudinally spaced notches into which the circularly configured wire springs are positioned and supported on the divergent legs having their free end portions inserted into the ground. Collapsing of the plant support for storage is readily accomplished by first pulling the legs from the ground thereby releasing the rings. The rings are then disconnected at their ends whereupon they again assume the relaxed, elongated configuration.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1975Date of Patent: April 26, 1977Assignee: NBS IncorporatedInventor: James B. Patent number: 3951264Abstract: A flexible or "floppy" disc such as is used for data storage is retained within an enclosure that substantially protects it from contaminants or damage from handling while not in use but still permits ready access to the disc by a machine. A hub nests the disc in a bore on a tray which is received by an envelope-type of housing so that a complete enclosure is provided. The flat surfaces of the housing act to retain the disc hub within the bore while in the cartridge. A latching arrangement between the tray and the housing permits either manual or machine release of the tray. The entire housing containing the tray and the disc is readily adapted to loading within a machine by means of a hub-engaging spindle to lift the disc from the tray after it has been removed from the housing. Strategically located ridges guide the disc hub into proper tray engagement when the disc is stored in the cartridge. A plurality of slots on the tray augment air flow under the disc.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1974Date of Patent: April 20, 1976Assignee: Dynastor, Inc.Inventors: Robert F.
