Abstract: A golf bag rain cover is used to cover a club opening of a golf bag so that the golfer's clubs can remain as dry as possible during play. The golf bag rain cover may comprise a one-piece shell being constructed of a water-resistant material which is held in a bonnet shape over the club opening by several extensible rods. The golfer simply reaches up and under the shell to retrieve or replace clubs. In alternate embodiments, the deployment of the rain cover can be adjusted to allow more or easier access to the clubs. Also in alternate embodiments, the rain cover may be stowed in a stowage element integral with the golf bag.

Abstract: A travel enclosure for a golf bag has a support for the golf bag and a set of nested members arranged for telescopic movement with respect to each other and the support between remotely spaced positions disassociated from the support and at least partially enclosing positions in association with the support about the golf bag. One of the nested members being engaged with the support upon the telescopic movement of the nested members into their at least partially closing position.

Abstract: A travel cover for a golf bag and clubs includes an integrated suitcase portion with one or more compartments for packing articles of clothing therein. In a preferred embodiment, the suitcase portion is in the form of a garment bag that releasably attaches to an inside back panel of the travel cover. The garment bag can be removed from the travel cover for separate transport and use. In another embodiment, the suitcase portion is fabricated within the travel cover and includes a top panel which secures closed to separate the clothing compartments of the suitcase portion from the golf bag holding compartment. In still another embodiment, the suitcase portion is provided on the exterior top side of the travel cover and includes an independently secured cover panel which opens to permit access to the clothing compartments. In yet a further embodiment, the suitcase portion is a garment bag that releasably attaches to the exterior of the travel cover and is separable therefrom.

Abstract: A golf-sunshade, the main structure of the golf-sunshade comprises a middle-stick, an upper nest member, an under nest member, a fixture and a rib; wherein the top end of the middle-stick connects to the fixture, a flex member is disposed on the fixture, the upper nest member is fixed on the end of a soft pipe, the under nest member is disposed around the outer surface of the middle-stick and is able to slide up/down along the middle-stick and the soft pipe. A main rib and a branch rib of the forefront sector of the rib respectively connects to the upper nest member and the under nest member for effecting opening/closing of the sunshade; the user put the surface of the sunshade at any angle through the flex member disposed on the end of the middle-stick, and the user can take out a golf club etc. from the bag under the sunshade without closing the sunshade.

Abstract: A golf club travel bag is provided with a mechanism to restrain the movement of golf clubs contained therein. The bag is comprised of a rugged material which forms a cavity having an opening operated by a zipper. The top of the bag is supplemented with a special protective layer affixed to the interior surface. The protective layer may be a foam material operable for absorbing shock. A strap is arranged in a looping fashion symmetric about the longitudinal axis of the bag. A fastened strap applies a inward radial force onto the protective layer and further to clubs stored in the bag thereby holding the clubs from moving and causing damage to each other.

Abstract: A carrier for a golf bag completely encloses the golf bag and has a bottom section, a middle section and a top section. The bottom section is formed in part by a rigid plastic plate that supports two wheels. The wheels allow easy transportation of the carrier. The middle section of the bag supports pockets for carrying golf accessories such as shoes, balls and tees. The top section is padded and has at least one set of cords. Each cord is separated into two pieces. Each piece has an end secured to the interior of the bag and extends through a grommet to the exterior of the bag. The two cords can be pulled together and releasably connected. When the cords are pulled together and connected, the effective diameter and interior volume of the bag are reduced. This reduces the room for the clubs to move and cause damage to each other by impact.

Abstract: A protective cover for a golf club includes a cover body and an internal frame and may include an elastic means for biasing the cover to an open condition. The cover body is made of cushioning fabric material and includes a head portion for covering and protecting the head of the golf club and a shank portion extending downwardly from the head portion for enclosing an upper part of the shaft of the golf club. The frame is principally covered by the cover body and comprises a hinge, wings that swing about the hinge to open and close the protective cover, and fastening means at free edges of the wings. The elastic means if present is attached to the outer surface of the frame and resiliently biases the wings of the frame to the open position. Part of the cover at the head is unsupported by the interior frame, to accommodate club heads of various sizes and shapes. The cover can be opened and closed with just one hand of the user.

Abstract: A golf club head cover and method of using is disclosed. The golf club head cover includes a body having an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion adapted for protecting the head of the club, the lower portion operatively connected to the upper portion for protecting at least a portion of the shaft of the club, the lower portion having an open collar. The golf club head cover can include an identifier that identifies a size of the golf club head cover. The present invention also includes a method of using the golf club head cover. The method includes providing a golf club head cover having a body with an upper portion and a lower portion, inserting a golf club head into the upper portion, and pressing the hosel or shaft of the club into the lower portion to secure the golf club head cover to the club.

Abstract: A golf bag umbrella includes a central shaft having a bending portion formed on the shaft, a rib assembly pivotally secured to the central shaft having an umbrella cloth secured on the rib assembly, with the rib assembly including at least a top rib pivotally secured to an upper notch formed on a top of the shaft and a stretcher rib pivotally secured between the top rib and a runner sliding on the shaft having the runner approximating the upper notch to form a crescent configuration between the top rib and the stretcher rib for forming a big dome space beneath the umbrella cloth without tangling the movement of the golf clubs when pulled outwardly from the golf bag, whereby upon bending of the central shaft at the bending portion, the umbrella cloth and the rib assembly may be temporarily tilted to allow an easy withdrawal of the golf club from the golf bag without any obstruction.

Abstract: A cover for protecting a head and/or adjacent shaft portion of a golf club is opened and closed by an over-center biasing means upon application of an external force to partly open or close the cover. The cover comprises a pair of wings adapted to be opened and closed about a longitudinal hinge formed between them and having a slot laterally formed in the pair of wings. Elongated elastic means such as rubber cords bias the pair of wings alternatively toward the open position and the closed position, by acting as an over-center device, passing through the slot openings at or adjacent the hinge and being fixed at both ends to the wings. A two-hinge form of the cover is also disclosed.

Abstract: A golf club head cover for use with standard wood golf clubs and oversized wood golf clubs is disclosed and made primarily of non-stretchable fabric and a narrow strip of elastic material. The head cover has a tubular formation having a first end stitched to an elongated sleeve shaft and a second end stitched to another piece of material to close the second end. The narrow strip of elastic material extends from the first end to the second end to accommodate the receipt of an oversized golf club head. The narrow strip of elastic material encompasses less than fifteen percent of the tubular formation so as not to detract from the decorative qualities of the non-stretchable fabric.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein a tube case having first and second sections wherein the open ends of the two sections can be slid together to provide a carrying case for elongated items, such as fishing rods, rifles, golf clubs, golf bags and the like. One section is smaller in cross-section than the other such that the closed end of that section can be inserted into the open end of the other section to provide a more compact assembly for storage and shipment. The sections of the tube case are designed so that a portion or an edge at the open end of the outer case abuts a shoulder on a latch plate or bracket on the other case to both provide a stop when the open ends of the two sections are placed together for carrying an article, and further to properly orient the ends of the two sections so that latches can be readily and simply engaged and latched to lock together the two sections.

The travel bag includes a bottom having a rigid cap with one or more wheels for allowing the case to be rolled via the wheels. It includes a front side having first and second zipper covers for opening and providing access to internal respective shoe and clothing compartments. The front side has a further zipper closure for allowing the entire front section of the bag to be opened to gain access to the golf bag and clubs compartment. The top includes a handle, and the left side and bottom have laminated therein and L-shaped rigid panel to facilitate movement of the travel case in the fashion of a hand truck. The back, right and top sides have laminated therein rigid panels for providing, along with the L-shaped panel, protection for golf clubs stored within the bag.

Abstract: A protective cover for the head of a golf club having a main body formed a single piece cut from a sheet of foam rubber material, and a stretchable nylon or polyester fabric is bonded to the opposing surfaces of the foam rubber sheet. The single piece of sheet foam rubber material is folded along a substantially straight first edge and stitches along second and third edges to form a cover having a profile similar to that of the club head which it is to cover. The cover has an opening at the top thereof. The opening can be expanded in size to fit over the head of a club. The cover is also preferably equipped with a pocket. The pocket is sized to received a turf comb, which can be used to dress the grass on which the participants ball rests. The turf comb may be connected with a line or string to an anchor point within the pocket to reduce the possibility that the comb may fall from the pocket and become lost.

Abstract: The object of this invention is to provide a golf bag putter holder that is convenient to use and protects, stores, aligns and segregates the putter and additionally is universal in it's application. A putter holder that under normal transportation and golf play, when attached to any conventional golf bag, will suspend a putter above a bag floor and secure all basic putter head designs firmly in place, whether a right or left handed putter or a short or long handled putter. A holder is disclosed comprised of a tube of resilient material for receiving the putter handle and shaft, with an adjustable clip integral to the tube for tube attachment to any conventional bags upper lip. The tubes top aperture is notched to seat club head in place. A plurality or uniquely shaped cushioning material surrounds the tube top aperture. A putter rests on a foundation of these materials in a manner that prevents contact with other stored clubs.

Abstract: A golf bag cover for use with a golf bag for preventing theft of golf clubs retained therein, and method for preventing the theft of the clubs, comprising a covering piece having an inner layer constructed of cables welded together to form a hood-like shape and an outer layer stitched over the inner layer to keep the clubs dry. A plurality of cables from the inner layer extend downward and terminate in a plurality of loops. A belt is inserted through the loops of the covering piece and placed tightly around the upper periphery of the golf bag to prevent removal of the covering piece therefrom. The covering piece is provided with a zipper which opens and closes to allow access to the clubs. To prevent unauthorized opening of the zipper, a first padlock is inserted through the belt buckle and the eye of the zipper. A cable strap and a second padlock are used to secure the golf bag to a fixed structure.

Abstract: A golf club head cover that fits a variety of different sized club heads. The golf club head cover has a hollow head cover portion with an upper end and a lower end, the upper end closed and the lower end open, an elongated shaft protector extending downwardly from the lower end of the head cover portion, and a knit sock disposed inside the head cover portion. The knit sock inside the head cover portion functions to provide a tight fit around the club head and secure the golf club head cover in place. The present invention also includes a method of protecting golf club heads of various sizes through use of a golf club head cover having a knit sock disposed within the head cover.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a golf bag cover device which is mounted over and about a rim surrounding the opening leading into a golf bag to protect the clubs from inclement weather and the like. The cover device comprises three ribs connected to a base mounted about to the rim. The ribs support a canvas or plastic cover. One of the ribs extends in a generally horizontal orientation beyond the perimeter of the rim. That way, a golfer can reach up and into the open end, causing the one rib to pivot toward a second rib which in turn pivots toward a third rib to provide access to the clubs. This construction enables a golfer to grab a club without having to touch the palm of his hand to the cover, thereby providing a dry and secure grip on the club.
