Abstract: A bar connecting apparatus applies clips to connect transverse bars used in reinforced concrete. A clip string is fed into the bar connecting apparatus by a clip feed assembly, so several pairs of transverse bars can be connected in rapid succession. A hammer reciprocates in the barrel of the bar connecting apparatus, and drives a clip from the barrel into engagement with the bars. An alignment head aligns the bar connecting apparatus with the transverse bars so the clips properly engage the bars.

Abstract: A refill for staples, which can not be removed from a cartridge unless all sheet-type connected staples in a stapler body are delivered. A refill for staples is installed in a detachable manner in a stapler body, and includes a refill body which holds the sheet-type connected staples, and a pressing member which presses the sheet-type connected staples. A delivery port delivering the sheet-type connected staples and a locking plate provided with a locking section which locks a locked section in the stapler body are formed in the refill body. When the sheet-type connected staples are pressed, the pressing member is engaged with the locking plate not to allow rotation of the locking plate, and, when the sheet-type connected staples are not pressed, the pressing member is disengaged from the locking plate to allow rotation of the locking plate. Thereby, the locking section of the locking plate can be removed from the locked section in the stapler body.

A nonreturn lug is attached to a staple pushing plate pushing the staple sheets by a spring, and the nonreturn lug is engaged with the nonreturn projections of the case. The nonreturn lug and the nonreturn projections are shaped to permit a descent of the staple pushing plate and inhibit an ascent thereof. In addition, a height of an apex of each of the nonreturn projections is reduced step-wise or with no step from top to bottom of the inner wall of the case.

Abstract: Hemostatic clip cartridge having a plurality of individual compartments for holding preformed hemostatic clips. Each individual compartment progressively increases in width from the centerline of the cartridge. Flexible retaining fingers extend into each individual compartment and secure the hemostatic clip to a pedestal. Harvesting the hemostatic clip from that particular individual compartment by a clip applicator moves at least one of the retaining fingers from a first position to a post-harvest position. Subsequent removal of the clip applicator with the harvested hemostatic clip from that particular individual compartment leaves at least one of the retaining fingers in the post-harvest position different from the first position so that the post-harvest position of the at least one of the retaining fingers indicates that the particular individual compartment has been accessed by the clip applicator.

Abstract: A staple refill which can be stored in a refill storing section in such a manner that the leading one of the sheet-like joined staples wound in roll form is on the upper side and which is adapted to lessen the load on a feeding mechanism for feeding the leading one of the sheet of joined staples in a stapler main body. The staple refill is removably attached to a cartridge installed in a stapler main body. A refill includes a storing section for storing a sheet of joined staples wound in roll form, a discharge port for discharging the sheet of joined staples, and a lead-out passage for leading out the leading part of the sheet of joined staples into the discharge port. The lead-out passage is upwardly bent from the discharge port toward the interior of the storing section, so that the leading part positioned on the upper side of the sheet of joined staples is lead out to the discharge port.
