Patent number: 4711353Abstract: An organizer particularly for a set of wrench sockets has a series of socket receivers arranged in ascending/descending size order. Each receiver is of tubular form which is slit longitudinally to make it expandable and contractable. A resilient band encircles the receiver so that when a socket of suitable size is inserted therein, the resilient band provides a contracting force retaining the socket in the receiver. Also, the receivers have stops to limit the amount of insertion of a socket and the respective stops are arranged at different heights related to the height of the respective sockets so that each socket projects from its respective receiver to the same level above the top of the organizer. In one form of the invention, the stops are provided with respective ejector mechanisms for facilitating removal of the sockets.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1986Date of Patent: December 8, 1987Inventor: Raymond L. Rozmestor

Patent number: 4688672Abstract: A gaging and storage rack for wrench sockets consisting of a base and a plurality of posts projecting upwardly therefrom. Each post is composed of two sections: a lower section adapted to receive a particular size of socket, and an upper section of uniform size adapted to receive and project above the drive hole in the socket. Associated with each post is a marking of the dimension or size of the socket which the lower section is adapted to receive.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1985Date of Patent: August 25, 1987Inventor: J. Patent number: 4656853Abstract: A key holder is disclosed which comprises a substantially planar body portion, a substantially circular ring having an open gap therein and rotatably mounted in substantially coplanar relation on the body portion, and a resilient tongue on the body portion. The ring is rotatable between a closed position wherein the open gap faces inwardly toward the body portion, and an open position wherein the open gap faces outwardly to permit the insertion of a key or the like on the ring. When the ring is in the closed position, the tongue normally extends into the gap to prevent the ring from being rotated. However, the tongue is resiliently deflectable away from the plane of the body portion to permit the ring to be rotated to the open position.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1986Date of Patent: April 14, 1987Inventor: William D. Mancini

Patent number: 4646913Abstract: A key holder is for keys with standardized heads of about the same width as standard key blades. The key holder includes a casing which has a flat base wall and a plurality of parallel, spaced-apart, elongated key compartment side walls extending integrally upwardly from the base wall to form a plurality of parallel key compartments. Keys are pivotally mounted in outer end portions of the key compartment side walls on removable cap screws and are pivotable about openings in the key heads and these cap screws from storage position inside of the casing to position for use of the key outside of the casing. Leaf springs, one in each key compartment, push the keys against the side walls with sufficient force to frictionally hold the keys in place each within its own key compartment whether or not one or the other of the cap screws is temporarily removed to insert or remove other keys.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1985Date of Patent: March 3, 1987Inventors: Russell T. Wing, David H. Palmer
