Sheet Segments Patents (Class 206/401)
  • Patent number: 8225929
Abstract: A substrate made of a material such as cardboard has characteristics sufficient to visually indicate an occurrence of damage when scraped or punctured to identify damage. The substrate has a flat shape with top and bottom elongated edges and a plurality of breaks along at least the top elongated edge to facilitate bending at a substantially ninety degree angle and be wrapped around a payload carried on a reel at an inner corner where an outside surface of the payload and an inside surface of a flange of the reel meet. The substrate can have a perforated fold parallel to the elongated direction substantially perpendicular to the breaks. The substrate is secured to a reel by stapling, taping or plastic shrink wrapping. A visual warning message can be placed on the substrate to aid forklift drivers.

  • Patent number: 7374803
Abstract: A band-like matter fastening seal for fixing a wound end of a band-like matter that is wound in a roll form to the body of said band-like matter, includes: a first attaching part adhered to said end of the band-like matter; a second attaching part having an attaching side adhered to the body of the matter in order to fasten the end to the body of the matter; and a handle part extended from the second attaching part, the attaching side being exposed when the attaching side is lifted from a masking side covering the attaching side, wherein the handle part rises up along the tangent line of the roll when a portion of the band-like matter fastening seal in the vicinity of the handle part is curved.

  • Patent number: 6789672
Abstract: When packaging a roll product in which a belt-shaped sensitized material has been wound around a core with a light shielding sheet, the packaging apparatus is capable of forming an angle pleated portion of a gather-folded portion which covers a roll end surface with stability, and the package of roll product is capable of retaining the light shielding property and the moisture resistance while making the area of the sheet as small as possible. The gather-folding apparatus forms angle pleated portions on end surface wrapping material by means of both plate-shaped folding members which come into plane contact from outside of the end surface wrapping material and inter support arms which come into line-contact with the inner peripheral surface of the end surface wrapping material. This gather-folding apparatus forms, by means of both the surfaces of the plate-shaped folding members and the line of the inter support arm, two planes of folded planes sandwiching the line concerned.

  • Patent number: 6756519
Abstract: A product in the form of a segmented strip includes tabs to assist in dispensing individual segments from the strip. Segments of the strip are separated by lines of perforations running transverse to the strip. A tab of sufficient size to be easily grasped is adhesively secured to the strip across the line of perforations. The tab is positioned so that less than half of the area of the tab is disposed on the segment that is the first to be dispensed. The majority of the surface of the tab is disposed on a segment that will be subsequently dispensed. When the first segment is dispensed, the tab is retained on the next segment since the adhered surface on the next segment is greater. The exposed portion of the tab may then be readily located and grasped when the next segment is to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 5238113
Abstract: A coil retention, protection and guidance device, comprising a bow tie-shaped device scored at a pair of separate and parallel locations across its width and forming at its ends two rectangular members; perforated at a single location parallel to and equidistant from said scored locations across its width and through its midpoint forming two mirror-image trapezoid members between said scored locations; and conformed to embrace the outer layer of a coiled bundle generally radially and across the bundle's width. The device, when applied to a coil of strand material, protects the material during shipment and storage, and facilitates the unravelling of the strand.

  • Patent number: 5064066
Abstract: A protective cover is disclosed for covering material contained on spools, such as solder. The cover includes a plurality of tabs which are contained in a cavity to receive the spool. Each of the protective tabs has a horizontal slot engage a flange of the spool to retain the cover about the spool when the spool is placed in the cavity within the cover. One embodiment of the invention includes an elongated slot in one side of the cover to permit material stored on the spool to be withdrawn without removing the spool from the protective cover.
