Abstract: A device and method for shipping and display of already packaged goods which provides support for packages, and which allows a uniform orientation of those packages, as well as retaining those assembled packages at a uniform distance from other products. The substrate comprising this device has adhesive or other materials to make packages adhere to the substrate, and also has adhesive materials to make the substrate itself adhere to another surface such as a retail shelf. The packages are placed for shipping or display on one side of the substrate and are held in a fixed position, while the substrate itself is placed on another surface so that the packages may be uniformly stacked or observed. The adhesive, or other material causing adhesion, is stronger on the side allowing adhesion of the device to another surface, and weaker on the other side which holds the packages in a fixed assembly. Abstract: Automatic analyzers, in which the liquids to be analyzed are in so-called reaction vessels, simultaneously acting as optically high-quality cuvettes (10), are used in laboratories for analyzing various liquids. This publication discloses a handling package for cuvettes. According to the invention a removable bonding strip (100) is fastened on the row of cuvettes, the strip binding the row of cuvettes during transport and being easily removable when the cuvettes are loaded into the instrument. The cuvettes (5) are loaded into the instrument by supporting the package in its place from the brackets located in the ends of the cuvettes so that the strip (100) can be pulled off the supported package of cuvettes.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing interfolded disposable sheets is disclosed. The dispenser includes a removable panel that is attached to the first sheet in the stack contained in the container. When the removable panel is pulled off the container, the first sheet in the stack is partially or completely withdrawn from the container. The removable panel may be adhered to the first sheet using an adhesive material. The adhesive material may be contained in a recess formed in the removable panel. The recess is designed to protect the adhesive material during manufacture of the product and/or to prevent the adhesive material to adhering to other portions of the product. In one embodiment, after the stack of sheets are loaded into the dispenser, the recess is inverted forming a protrusion that contacts the first sheet in the stack and forms a bond between the removable panel and the first sheet.

Abstract: A gum packaging design that utilizes two separate compartments, an upper compartment and a lower compartment. Each of the compartments may be formed from a separate paperboard blank. The blanks are folded to form the compartments and then the lower compartment is adhered to the upper compartment in a fashion that allows the lower compartment to be later separated therefrom by tearing along a perforation after the lower compartment is emptied. A cover flap on the upper compartment can be used to hold the package in a compact, closed position by folding the compartments to face each other and tucking an end into a receiving slot formed in the back panel of the lower compartment. Once the lower compartment is separated from the upper compartment, the same cover flap can be used to close the remaining package by tucking the same end of the cover flap into a receiving slot formed in a front panel of the upper compartment.

Abstract: Strips of soluble PVA can be used to attach an object to a display backer (e.g. cardboard). A wet or uncured strip of soluble PVA is placed across the object and around the display backer. The strip is then secured to itself or the display backer and dried or cured to retain the object. To free the object, the assembly with the display backer is submerged under still water or placed under running water. The strip will break in running water in less than 5 minutes allowing removal of the object (single item or bundle of items) from the backer. The backer may be made of a recyclable material.

  • Patent number: 8132673
Abstract: An improved continuous adhesive backed carrier tape which eliminates the need for a lift pin to assist in removing components from the compartments in the carrier tape within which the components are adhesively retained. The improvements are achieved by utilizing a strip of continuous length containing a low tack adhesive coating within the central portion of the plastic strip located to underlie the entire bottom of each carrier tape compartment when the strip is affixed there to by either aggressive adhesive rails or by mechanical means, such as ultra sonic bonding. The unique feature is to affix low tack adhesive means underneath the compartment area of the carrier tape, sufficient to retain small, lightweight components yet an adhesion level that is low enough to enable the component to be removed using conventional vacuum pick tools without lift pin assistance.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel device for the collection, storage, shipping and retrieval of hair follicles from animals for the purpose of isolating DNA or other genetic material from the follicles for analysis. The device has outer flaps for the protection as well as identification of the samples and an inner part where samples are placed. The inner device has thicker base and a clear plastic cover, the easy peel back of which is facilitated by a) low tack adhesives that hold the two together and b) a touch cut on one end, through the base sheet which creates a grip. This makes the device convenient and easy to use, and yet a robust collection device for hair follicles from animals in a farm or real-life situation. Hair follicles can be punched out through the inner device for direct DNA isolation and analysis.
