Abstract: A container having a base and a top, is configured to house a slideable card that holds items. The top and base form a closed case, open along one end. The card includes at least one receiving aperture that, when fully inserted within the container, engages at least one detent. A release button is located on the container and is positioned proximate to the detent. A spring or other retaining mechanism is located adjacent the detent and urges the card to engage the detent at the receiving aperture. Pressing the release button pushes the card to lift the aperture over detent so that the card can be slideably removed. Some embodiments include a deactivation clip that, when attached, engages the release button so that the receiving aperture does not engage the detent.

  • Patent number: 7285114
Abstract: This invention relates to devices and a method promoting the convenient use of hand sterilizing fluids and gels applied to reduce the hand-borne transmission of pathogens. While clean, disinfected hands are widely recognized as a principle means for controlling the spread of infections, disease, and similar health problems to both self and others, the prompt and repeated application of such materials as soap and water or waterless alcohol gels is necessary for maintaining a sanitary hand condition. This is particularly true for nurses, health care providers, veterinarians, elementary teachers, food handlers and others where rapid and continuous movement between patients, clients and tasks provides optimum conditions for cross-contamination. This invention of a convenient, wrist-mounted dispenser of hand sterilizing fluids in a blister package format advances the use of such materials to effectively control the spread of hand-borne pathogens.

Abstract: A push and peel child resistant and senior friendly tamper evident package comprising a blister sheet with U cuts for pushing an outer layer of interior tabs, the blister sheet having blister pockets projecting from a front side thereof, a rupturable foil layer being adhered to the blister layer and reinforcing the paperboard material adhered to the foil layer, an inner data layer with diecut oval holes, the paperboard layer having a tear strip formed therein, the tear strip being defined by a cut into the paperboard layer from the side thereof adhered to the foil layer, the cut extending only a certain percentage of the total thickness of the paperboard such that a controlled delamination of the paperboard layer occurs when the tear strip is removed. This provides a precise reinforcement of the foil layer.

  • Patent number: 7243797
Abstract: A child resistant pill package assembly comprising a base member and a top member spaced apart to define a hollow interior. A dial is mounted on a platform for an annular pill pack assembly having a lower portion. The dial projects through an opening in the top. A plurality of radially outwardly circumferentially spaced teeth are formed on the lower portion of the dial. A series of complementary teeth which project radially inwardly from the circular opening in the top and mesh with the teeth on the lower portion of the dial when aligned therewith. Flexible spring fingers normally bias the dial outwardly so that the dial teeth and top teeth are in meshing relationship. Application of pressure on the dial downwardly displaces the spring fingers so that the teeth are disengaged and confront the upper portion to permit rotation of the dial and pill pack.

Abstract: A PTP constructed so that when the PTP is divided into a section having one or a plurality of pocket portions, a person can discriminate between the top, bottom, right and left sides of this section in the planar direction and a visually handicapped person can correctly identify the direction of medicament identifying means provided on the section. The PTP includes a flexible sheet having a pocket portion containing a tablet T, and a metal foil adhered to the flexible sheet to hermetically seal the pocket portion containing the tablet T, and the PTP is dividable into sections including a plurality of pocket portions by a dividing line. An unevenness serving as medicament identifying means is provided on a top surface of a pocket portion, and arcs are respectively formed on the dividing line on the sides so that the shapes of all the divided sections become the same.

Abstract: A holding device for pharmaceutical blisters has an upper part and a lower part between which a pharmaceutical blister is disposed. Ejection openings are disposed in both the upper part and the lower part in a pattern that corresponds to the pattern of the contained dragées. An ejection device that can execute a linear movement and/or a rotary movement in relation to the upper part has an ejection ram, which optionally can be guided into a certain ejection opening of the upper part to remove a corresponding dragée. The ejection device has a contact element, which in the desired ejection position short-circuits a pair of contact points with a contact field to display the desired ejection position. The contact field for each possible ejection position short-circuits only one pair of contact points corresponding to the desired ejection position through the contact field.

  • Patent number: 7188728
Abstract: The present invention is a novel child-resistant senior-friendly blister card packaging that is cheap and easy to manufacture. The packaging requires a push-peel-push method for opening, which is cognitively and physically challenging for children and mentally impaired adults. Yet, competent adults can easily open the package, especially after reading instructions. More specifically, opening the package requires the user to: 1) Push through a aperture to create a pull tab; 2) Pull on the pull tab to remove a panel; and 3) Push the blister to force the contents through the blister's seal. Advantageously, the present invention is designed such that information such as instructions and product information can be easily printed directly on the packaging. Moreover, users may also record information directly on the packaging. Thus, the present invention not only provides child-resistant and senior-friendly features, but also provides convenience for viewing and recording information.
