Abstract: A packaging system for packaging granular food items for shipment includes a plurality of granular food item bags, each granular food item bag having a side surface. A folder has at least one crease with a first half having a first inner surface on one side of the crease and a second half having a second inner surface on an opposing side of the at least one crease. The side surface of each granular food item bag is attached to the first inner surface of the first half of the folder and the granular food item bags are arranged in and N×M array on the first inner surface of the first half of the folder. The folder is then folded along the at least one crease so the second inner surface of the second half of the folder is folded over the granular food item bags attached to the first inner surface.

Abstract: A blister pack may include a containing body with an opening; and a lid sealed over the opening and provided with a weakening pattern, wherein a width of the lid at the weakening pattern is thinner that a width of the lid elsewhere, and wherein the lid is configured to burst at the weakening pattern when the blister pack is subjected to pressure, so as to allow liquid content inside the containing body to be discharged out of the blister pack through the burst weakening pattern. A blister pack holder is also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a covering for an information handling system. The covering includes a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is a polylactic acid layer that can be reinforced with a reinforcing component, such as glass fibers. The second layer is an aluminum layer, and can include at least 50% recycled aluminum. The outer surface of the first layer may be provided with a graphene-containing coating that can help improve thermal management.

Abstract: A moisture- and dust-proof lockable press-type spring compartment pillbox is provided. The pillbox includes an upper cover, a lower bottom provided below the upper cover, and a plurality of plastic drawers provided between the upper cover and the lower bottom. An upper end of each plastic drawer is provided with a silicone inner cover. The plastic drawer is slidably provided along an inner side of the lower bottom. A rear end of the plastic drawer is provided with a locking joint. A rear edge of the inner side of the lower bottom is provided with a plurality of lock assemblies that correspond one-to-one with the locking joints on the plurality of plastic drawers. The lock assembly includes a built-in lock pliers for clamping the locking joint when the plastic drawer is pushed into the lower bottom, so as to fix the plastic drawer to the lower bottom.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for blister packaging are disclosed. An assembly utilizing interchangeable inserts allows for a variety of blister packaging to be sealed with corresponding labels that are anchored into proper orientation through the use of locator pins. Blisters are nested into inserts and held in a fixed position while label sheets having holes for receiving locator pins are inserted onto the assembly. Visual indicators on labels identify pull flaps, and tear slits provide evidence of tampering with packaged blisters.

In addition, a package integrity feature is applied to the bottom side and covers the contact window. The package integrity feature is further applied to the membrane covering the cavity through the contact window.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transporting and dispensing medications for a patient according to a medication schedule for the patient. A smart container from a pharmacy is received at the patient's site and the container is checked to make sure that the container was delivered to the correct patient site. The smart container contains a memory device that contains identification information of the patient, dosage and treatment instructions for the patient. This information and the medication were checked for compatibility before the smart container was delivered. The identity of the patient at the patient's site is then checked and the patient performs on or more biometric tests before the medication is dispensed by the smart container. Upon taking the medication and providing video proof thereof, the smart container is returned to the pharmacy.

Abstract: A seal for use with a container for storing and dispensing consumer products is described. The seal includes a cover layer having pre-formed lines of separation defining one or more releasable portions, an adhesive layer on the cover layer, and one or more patches on the adhesive layer. Each patch is associated with a respective one of the releasable portions 6 and consists of a hot melt polymer. The hot melt polymer can be applied to the adhesive layer using a suitable coating or spraying process.

Abstract: A container assembly includes an outer cover and a container. The front of the outer cover includes a minor front flap located on an interior surface thereof. The front of the container includes at least one minor exterior flap. The container is received in the open end of the outer cover, The container forms an aperture. The minor front flap of the outer cover and the minor exterior flap of the container are generally aligned in a plane in a closed position of the container assembly to prevent or inhibit opening thereof. The outer cover initially moves with respect to the container by pushing the front of the container and moving the outer cover such that the minor front flap of the outer cover clears the minor exterior flap of the container allowing the container assembly to be moved from the closed position to an open position.

The second part of the backing layer includes at least one removable portion at an edge thereof. Each removable portion is defined by one or more pre-formed lines of separation. Abstract: Eflornithine is an agent that can be used to treat glioma, especially glioma of WHO Grade II or Grade III such as anaplastic glioma. Eflornithine can suppress or prevent mutations in glioma which can cause the glioma to progress to a higher grade. The present invention describes pharmaceutical compositions that contain eflornithine or a derivative, analog, or prodrug thereof. The pharmaceutical compositions can be prepared in a number of dosage forms and may contain another therapeutically active agent or an agent that enhances the therapeutic activity of the elformithine or the derivative, analog, or prodrug thereof. The present invention also describes a kit that includes dosage forms of pharmaceutical compositions according to the present invention.

Abstract: A simple and quick verification of the authenticity of a blister of elements, such as pills in the pharmaceutical industry, is provided. The pills packaged in a blister can be authenticated using mobile imaging devices such as a mobile smartphone. Generally speaking, an image of the pills and their differentiating physical characteristics in the blister is acquired and compared to at least one code which is marked on the blister itself. This code may also be encrypted. A dedicated software application on the mobile smartphone can be used to decrypt the code and compare the code to the image of the pills in the blister, to thereby evaluate authenticity of the blister and its contents.

Abstract: A seal that forms part of a container for storing and dispensing consumer products is provided. The container can be used for the packaging of pills, tablets or capsules, or as a multi-cavity container for organizing and storing mixed medication for subsequent dispensation according to a predefined dosage regimen. The seal includes a cover film and a barrier film. The cover film has pre-formed lines of separation defining a removable portion per cavity. The barrier film is secured to the cover film by a layer of peelable adhesive and has pre-formed lines of separation defining the periphery of a barrier patch per removable portion. The cover film includes a tamper-indicating line of separation close to an edge of the cover film that is designed to tear if an attempt is made to peel the cover film away from the tray to expose one or more of the cavities.

Abstract: A multi-compartment package for dispensing plural items is disclosed. The package includes plural individual sealed compartment units which are releasably secured to each other. Each compartment unit includes a flanged base from which a chamber depends. The chamber serves to hold an item to be dispensed and is surrounded by a flange. A closure member, in the form of a respective portion of a frangible cover sheet, is adhesively secured to the flange of each compartment unit. Each compartment unit includes at least one foldable tab in a corner of its flange, which can be folded down to enable the closure member to be removed from the compartment unit after the compartment unit is separated from other compartment units of the package.

A breaching bubble is formed in the seal, under the cover and over the perimeter lip. The consumer breaches the bubble by pressing the bubble against the lip between the thumb and forefinger. The pressure compresses the air in the bubble causing the bubble to expand laterally. The expanding bubble breaches along the perimeter of the lip, producing a peel flap of flexible cover material. The consumer pulls the peel flap while holding the rigid container down, to remove the cover sheet.

The dosing bags may be removed from the pages to allow the patient to take the specific pharmaceutical dose with them. alternatively, the dosing bag may be opened in the booklet and the specific pharmaceutical dose may be taken.

One device may include a holder having at least one deformable side wall, a supporting element, and at least one strainer/filter arranged below the holder so that the content of the opened glass ampule may flows therethrough. A first lever of the device may pivot around a first axis and a free end of the first lever may be pressed against the deformable side wall of the holder. A second lever of the device may pivot around a second axis that may divide the second lever into a short lever arm and a long lever arm. The short lever arm may be pressed against the first lever and a glass ampule may be broken open by pressure of the free end of the first lever.

Abstract: Blister package having a novel pull tab construction that enables opening of each individual product cavity of the blister package. The pull tab is formed by breaking off a portion of a base substrate along a notched line that includes a series elongated severed portions extending completely through the thickness of the base substrate, separated by the unsevered (connected) portions. The notched line can be formed in the same mold that is used to form the recessed product cavity of the base substrate, thereby reducing the number of manufacturing steps and equipment, resulting in a significant cost savings during manufacture. The new notch line configuration eliminates the problems of the prior art with score depth achievement and consistency, while providing a reliable breakable line, and enable less brittle (non-PVC) polymers to be used. It also eliminates the problem with knife wear that prevented score depth achievement and consistency with non-PVC materials.

Systems in accordance with the present invention utilize a first and second container each capable of receiving a foam base utilized in the creation of an arrangement of a predetermined size. The first and second containers are of different sizes so that one may nest inside the other. Once nested, the containers form a locking engagement with one another.

Abstract: A web of cleaning products and a method of manufacturing the same is disclosed. The web includes a carrier sheet having a plurality of depressions each filled, and in direct contact with, at least one cleaning composition. A plurality of internal lids that correspond with the plurality of depressions are sealed to the carrier sheet in a manner covering the plurality of depressions. Additionally, a plurality of external lids that correspond with the plurality of internal lids are sealed to the carrier sheet and cover the plurality of internal lids. The carrier sheet and external lids may be made of a water-resistant material, and the internal lids may be made of a water-soluble material. In one embodiment, the internal lids may be omitted, and instead the depressions be filled with water-soluble pouches, each of which contains a respective dose of a cleaning composition.

Abstract: Methods and compositions for treating inflammatory bowel disease involve the use of targeted antibiotics in combination with probiotic formulations. The probiotics mitigate many of the deleterious side effects associated with antibiotic use and permit the antibiotic to be administered at a higher dose and for a longer duration than would otherwise be possible in the absence of the probiotic. The practice of the invention may reduce or eliminate the use of immunosuppressants in the treatment and management of IBD.
