Abstract: A child resistant pill container includes a locking feature, which can be unlocked using a knob. The knob can be a rotatable knob or a slide knob. The knob will be fixed or locked in place until being released/unlocked by squeezing an actuator. The squeeze action allows the knob to move out of its fixed position and move by either rotation or linearly sliding. The motion of the knob moves a lock bar from its locked position to an unlocked position. While the lock bar is in the unlocked position, one or more of the lids can be unlatched and lifted from their closed position to an open position. When the knob is released, a spring action returns the knob back to the fixed (locked) position, moving the lock bar back into the locked position, and any lids still in the closed position are again locked in place.

Abstract: An eye shield includes a frame having a plurality of receivers located along the frame and a plurality of latches located to cooperate with the receivers, and a lens having a plurality of spaced apart lens apertures extending through the lens and located so as to align with the receivers of the frame when the lens is positioned for installation onto the frame. The latches are engageable with the receivers by rotating the latches to pass an elongate catch of the latch into the receiver through the aligned lens aperture and an open front of the receiver to latchingly engage a tooth of the latch with a catch surface of the receiver in a snap-fit frictional relationship. The latches are also selectively disengageable from the receivers by applying force to a lower edge of the latch and flexing the lower edge of the latch rearward slightly to disengage the tooth from the catch surface.

Abstract: The invention relates to crystalline forms of Alpha-1062 gluconate. In one aspect, the invention relates to a crystalline solid form of Alpha-1062 gluconate (Form A), wherein said crystalline form has prominent peaks at 3.61, 10.98, 14.41 and 18.44 degrees 2-theta (±0.2) in a powder X-ray diffraction pattern. The invention further relates to methods for manufacturing crystalline forms and compositions comprising said crystalline forms.

Abstract: Microbiota restoration therapy (MRT) compositions (e.g., oral MRT compositions) and methods for manufacturing MRT compositions are disclosed. An example method for manufacturing an MRT composition may include collecting a stool sample, purifying the stool sample to form a purified sample, stabilizing the purified sample to form a stabilized sample, converting the stabilized sample to a solid, adding one or more additives and/or excipients to the solid to form a treatment composition, and encapsulating the treatment composition.

A blood pressure measurement device according to an aspect of the present invention includes a prescription information acquisition unit configured to acquire prescription information, a preparatory action determination unit configured to determine whether a preparatory action for blood pressure measurement is performed, a blood pressure measurement operation unit configured to perform a blood pressure measurement operation in a case where an operation button is operated with the preparatory action determined to be performed, and a medication recording and processing unit configured to, in a case where the operation button is operated with the preparatory action determined not to be performed, assess that the operation is a medication confirmation operation, and generate and record medication information on the basis of the prescription information thus acquired.

Abstract: A granulated nutritional supplement dispensing machine extracts single-serving doses from a multi-serving supplements cartridge for delivery as a drinkable solution. A lead serving chamber is pierced so that its powered contents drain into a mixing cup together with a metered quantity of water from an integrated water tank. A vibrator unit assists drainage of the granulated materials from the lead serving chamber. The mixing cup is rotated at high speed to blend the water and supplements into a slurry. The supplements cartridge is indexed after (or before) use so that an unopened serving chamber is presented each time for extracting its supplements. This enables partially-used supplements cartridges to be used in the machine, as is conducive in multiple-user households. The supplements cartridge is configured with read-write data capability to indicate whether or not the contents of each serving chamber have been emptied.

Abstract: Systems and containers for organizing and administering an oral immunotherapy regimen to a patient are disclosed herein. One aspect of the present technology is directed systems for efficiently and safely identifying pre-packaged dose units to administer to a patient undergoing oral immunotherapy. Further aspects of the present technology are directed to reducing medical staff dosing errors when administering an oral immunotherapy regimen. In one embodiment, the system includes a plurality of dosage containers, wherein each dosage container includes dosage identification characteristics corresponding to dosage of an oral immunotherapy composition. Further aspects of the present technology are directed to methods of dispensing an oral immunotherapy composition to a patient in a manner that mitigates the risk of errors in oral immunotherapy dose administration.

Each slide includes a segment having a solid portion blocking the opening in the housing and an open portion allowing a pill placed in the opening to fall through the opening and into a pill storage container. The slides are moveable in a lateral direction to present indicia within the openings and in a transverse direction to either block or allow a pill to pass through the openings.

By “automating” medication dosing, the subject invention reduces delays in medication administration and reduces the risk of medication errors.

The recess is sized to receive the array of walls of the lid. The tray has a contiguous array of ridges corresponding to the array of walls of the lid. A top surface of the ridges of the tray contact a bottom surface of the walls of the lid when mated to form sealed compartments. A sealing mechanism is provided along a perimeter of at least one of the lid and the tray sealing the lid and the tray along perimeters thereof, and restricting separation of the bottom surface of the walls of the lid from the top surface of the ridges of the tray when mated. At least one of the lid and the tray is formed from a flexible material so that the lid and the tray can be partially separated to remove a food portion formed in one of the compartments without breaking all of the seals of the compartments.

An included angle of at least 120 degrees is defined between the slope of the gradually-reduced guide channel and the bottom of the accommodation portion so that an outlet formed at a front end of the gradually-reduced guide channel has a width much smaller than that of the accommodation portion. A gap is formed between the adjacent outlets of the adjacent medicine boxes. The gap and the gradually-reduced guide channel can go into the corner of the mouth and the lower lip of the taker.

The lid member of the packing body includes a resin film, an adhesive, an aluminum foil, and a thermal adhesive layer, in which tapered through holes are formed in the resin film. The resin film is laminated to the aluminum foil to reinforce the lid member so that the lid member is not to be inadvertently torn. When contents of a container are pushed out using fingers, the lid member is broken starting from the tapered through holes provided in the resin film, and so the contents can be easily taken out.

The locking apparatus is unique and the materials used are applied in such a way as to benefit the units. The manufacture and assembly of the invention makes it a simple, low cost, quality product that is easy to use. The inserts with three containers, providing two storage areas as well as the separation areas, may all be locked together. Additional storage areas allow the addition of electrical equipment without reducing the locking or storage functions. The opening difficulty raises this invention above the childproof products on the market and is produced with the intent to hinder anyone attempting to take prescription drugs that have not been prescribed to them.

Abstract: An aerosolization apparatus comprises a housing defining a chamber having one or more air inlets. The chamber is sized to receive a capsule which contains an aerosolizable pharmaceutical formulation. A puncturing mechanism is provided within the housing and comprising a puncture member. The puncture member comprises a forward end shaped to form a cutting edge that is effective in cutting the wall of the capsule to create an opening into the capsule. The puncture member also comprises a trailing end shaped so that it has a non-cutting surface that does not cut the wall of the capsule when the trailing end is inserted into the opening created by the forward end. An end section is associated with the housing. The end section is sized and shaped to be received in a user's mouth or nose so that the user may inhale through the end section to inhale aerosolized pharmaceutical formulation that has exited the capsule through the opening created in the capsule.

Abstract: A device is provided for storing, organizing, and dispensing prescription pills that comprises a clamshell container configured to house a pill tray, pill tray lid, and sliding card. The pill tray contains an array of pill chambers that are covered by the pill tray lid, or alternatively, by an adhesive foil seal. The clamshell container comprises a top portion and a bottom portion, the top portion having an array of pill holes that correspond with the chambers of the pill tray. The top of the sliding card has markings corresponding to the pill chambers beneath it and slides over the pill tray and beneath the top portion of the claim shell. Pills are placed within the pill holes on top of the sliding card. When the sliding card is removed, the pills fall through the pill holes and into the pill chambers of the pill tray.

The sealing sheet includes a top layer having a lower surface covered with pressure sensitive adhesive glue, and a bottom layer having an upper surface detachably fixed to the lower surface of the top layer by pressure sensitive adhesive glue. The bottom layer being peelable from the lower surface of the top layer to allow fixation of the sealing sheet onto the top surface of the container-defining sheet in order to close the containers defined in the same. The sealing sheet also includes an additional layer that is tearable into additional elements that are foldably attached on top of each of the containers and on which additional information may be printed.

Abstract: A medication dispenser assembly provides access to medication to promote compliance with a prescribed medication schedule. The assembly includes a housing having a bottom, a top, and a perimeter wall extending from the bottom to the top. Apertures extend through the top. A plurality of vertically aligned bays is positioned in the housing with each bay having an associated access opening extending through the perimeter wall. A plurality of trays each have a plurality of compartments. An interior space of each compartment is accessible through a top of each compartment. Each tray is insertable into a selectable one of the bays through the associated access opening. The compartments of an uppermost one of the trays are accessible through the apertures in the top of the housing. A plurality of doors is coupled to the top of the housing with each door covering an associated one of the apertures.

Abstract: A multiple-use dispenser (1) for articles contained in blister-type packages (100), in particular for pharmaceutical products such as pills, tablets, capsules and like articles, comprising a housing (2) with at least one opening for dispensing an article from a blister-type package contained therein, The housing (2) comprises a front and a rear sheet (3,4) which are interconnected with each other along their longitudinal edges and have a closed end (5) and an open end (6) on opposite longitudinal ends thereof. The front and rear sheets (3, 4) each are provided with at least one opening (30,40) which are in permanent registry with one another. A shutter sheet (9) is provided within the housing (2) and adapted to be moved longitudinally from a first end position, in which the openings (30, 40) are closed by the shutter (9) to a second end position, in which an aperture (90) of the shutter sheet (9) is in registry with the openings (30, 40) in the front and rear sheets (3, 4).
