Abstract: Active packaging for supplying power, data, or both power and data to an electronic media device while the device is housed within the active packaging is provided. The active packaging may include one or more electrical traces in-molded or printed onto the packaging that couple to a suitable connector on the device. Power may also be provided via one or more wireless power techniques. Multiple active packages may be conductively stacked to transmit power, data, or both power and data to a row or stack or devices. POM sensors integrated with or attached to the device (or the active packaging itself) may detect various movement events. Coordinated and synchronized display effects may be presented while the devices are housed within the active packaging.

Abstract: A phone support device holds and supports a phone on or adjacent to a bed. The device includes a tray having a panel and a perimeter wall coupled to and extending upwardly from a perimeter edge of the panel defining a receptacle such that the tray is configured for receiving a phone in the tray. A knob is coupled to and extends from a bottom surface of the panel. A clip having a pair of spaced arms selectively engageable to the knob wherein the clip is secures the tray to a sheet by positioning the sheet between the knob and the clip when the clip is engaged to the knob.

Abstract: A carton (10) is formed from a unitary blank of material folded to produce a hollow walled structure for encircling a main product (11). The blank is also folded to produce at least one internal divider (35) which forms a support for holding the main product (11) in position in the structure and to define within the hollow walled structure an internal volume (36) for retaining a secondary item (37). The internal divider (35) may extend transversely or longitudinally. Where the internal divider is aligned longitudinally of the housing, it may be parallel to a side wall of the carton or it may extend across a corner between two side walls. The internal divider may be provided by a pair of kick-ins. The carton (10) may be an Easter egg carton. Methods of forming and filling the carton are also described.

Abstract: In some aspects of the present disclosure, analyte test strip containers, and methods of manufacturing the same, are provided. The analyte test strip containers may include an interior side of a base that varies in height. In some aspects of the present disclosure, inserts are provided. The inserts serve to provide the cavity floor with a varying height with respect to a longitudinal axis of the container. In some aspects of the present disclosure, analyte test strip container systems, and methods of making the same, are provided. The analyte test strip container systems include a container and insert that situates within the container to provide a cavity floor that varies in height.

Abstract: A cardboard container has a base wall, two foldable lateral walls at two longitudinal sides thereof. The container has a pair of tabs each exhibiting a central portion connected to the base wall. A first lateral portion in a single body with the central portion is foldable with respect to the central portion and to the first lateral wall, while a second lateral portion is connected to the second lateral wall and foldable with respect to the central portion and to the second lateral wall. Each tab is foldable into a flat configuration, such that the central portion assumes an angled configuration. The tab central portions are connected to the base wall and when folded by an angle with respect thereto, they are distanced apart by a distance corresponding to the transversal dimensions of a bottle and define there-between a housing for receiving the bottle in a horizontal configuration.

Abstract: A display container is provided herein which includes a box portion having a base portion, spaced-apart upstanding first and second end panels, and spaced-apart upstanding first and second edge panels extending from the base portion. The first and second edge panels are located between the first and second end panels, and the first edge panel extends a lesser distance from the base portion than the first end panel and the second end panel. The display container also includes a reinforcing layer which may be formed of a material stronger in shear than the material of the box portion. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a display container may be formed which has greater strength both for product containment and stacking as compared to the prior art.

An irreversible lock is adapted for selective application to at least one of the base and the cover such that the lock assumes a locking position that prevents non-destructive removal of the cover from the base. One suitable lock includes a plate having a plurality of recessed areas spaced radially about the plate and a plurality of posts extending away from the plate. Each post is in general radial alignment with one of the recessed areas of the plate and spaced radially inward from the recessed area.

Abstract: A gift card presenter includes a base portion folded along a fold line and having an inner and outer surface. A support portion is folded along a fold line and includes opposite ends on either side of the support portion fold line, which are secured to the inner surface of the base portion on opposite sides of the base portion fold line. The support portion defines an opening adapted to receive and support a card, which travels through the opening until it engages the base portion. The unfolding of the base portion causes the support portion to unfold and move toward the base portion, which forces the card back through the opening and outward from the support portion, thus creating a pop-up effect.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a package which allows a product to be displayed. In one embodiment, the package of the present invention can stand alone independently on an integrated cardboard base or can be hung from a bracket or shelf as a point of sale display. In another embodiment, the package of the present invention is able to be separated into its component parts so that such parts can be, if so required, independently recycled. In still another embodiment, due to its ability to be separated the package of the present invention can comprise various components formed from dissimilar materials (e.g., paper and plastic).

Abstract: A packaging assembly for containing and displaying a product includes a unitary material adapted for configuration into a tray. The tray includes a tray bottom, a first side wall formed integrally with the tray bottom, and a second side wall formed integrally with the tray bottom and opposed to the first side wall. The first side wall has a transverse cross sectional area of a first predetermined shape and the second side wall has a transverse cross sectional area of a second predetermined shape, the second predetermined shape being different from the first predetermined shape. The tray also includes a side notch defined in at least a portion of the first side wall cross sectional area and a bottom notch defined in at least a portion of the second side wall cross sectional area. The side notch has a height substantially equal to the height of the first side wall and the bottom notch has a height less than the side notch height.

The display package provides an enclosure that houses the doll. The doll includes an animation mechanism that drives a portion of the toy from a first position to a second position. The display package may include a moveable display panel mounted within the enclosure. The display panel is selectively engaged by the toy when the animation mechanism is engaged. The display package may further include an attachment that stabilizes the display panel. In addition, the display package may include a support member that supports the toy within the package and permits the animation mechanism to move the doll from a first display position to a second display position.

Abstract: An integrally injection molded container for merchandise, preferably bottles. The container has two shaped halves that are connected to each other by a living hinge. A closure fastener is disposed at an end of each half that is opposite the living hinge. The closure fastener secures the two shaped halves in a closed position along their outer rims. When in the closed position, an enclosed internal space is defined between the two halves. There is a set of upstanding walls disposed on an inner surface of one of the identical halves. These walls are molded to receive a bottle. Gripping projections are disposed at the ends of the upstanding walls. These gripping projections curve inwardly toward the area where the bottle is held. When the bottle is placed in this area it is releasably secured in place, preventing it from falling out of the container when the molded shaped halves are in an open position.

Abstract: A musical presentation and storage box having a display pedestal mounted directly below a door located on the top of the box, a sound (music) module for playing various songs or spoken words, and a mechanism for presenting and storing jewelry or other objects. The device is comprised of an enclosure with an internal pedestal that can be raised and lowered by an internal mechanism comprised of a motor and a rack-and-pinion means for sequentially opening and closing the display door and raising and lowering the display pedestal. Additionally, an internal sound module is provided for playing music or speaking descriptive words while an object is displayed. An activation switch is used for displaying and/or storing the object. In use, when a button is pressed, music plays and in sequence the door opens and the pedestal rises, thereby displaying the jewelry or other object. When the button is pressed again, the pedestal lowers, the door shuts, and the music stops.

Abstract: A display package and display packaging technique implemented by forming a shadow box in which an item to be displayed and items to be hidden that are associated with the item to be displayed are packaged. The shadow box is formed having four side portions and a bottom portion. A flap integral with a portion of the shadow box is disposed between the four side portions to form a hidden compartment between the flap and the bottom portion within which the associated items are hidden and a display compartment above the flap within which the item to be displayed is displayed by disposing the item on the flap. The shadow box and flap are formed of a single piece of sheet material. A transparent protective material wrap is provided to cover the shadow box entirely when assembled so as to provide protection and enclose the display compartment.

Abstract: A product package is described for enclosing an item in a non-thermoformed blister-like compartment. Also described are approaches for making the package. According to various aspects of the described package and manufacturing techniques, a blank is cut out of a sheet of see-through plastic material, the blank having a plurality of panels and flange sections such that the blank can be formed, without thermoforming, into a blister-like compartment having a plurality of panels defining an enclosure with a mouth at its base and a flange at the mouth's perimeter. The blank may include printing, cutouts, perforations, or other features. The blank is then folded into a blister-like compartment and loaded with the item to be packaged. A backing is positioned to enclose the loaded blister-like compartment and affixed to the flange.

The insert may be of a transparent plastic material so that the inside surfaces of the carton may be decorated in a fashion independent of the shape of the product displayed or the manner in which it is positioned. The insert also has a number of extension arms which register the insert securely inside the cavity, and which may also act as supports for the insert to act as a display stand when not inside the carton.

Abstract: A reinforced paperboard box for storage and shipping of elongated items is described. The box is formed from a single piece of paperboard and may be rapidly assembled without the use of tools. The box comprises an elongated rectangular bottom panel, first and second joined side panels, a top panel, a front reinforcing panel and dividing partition all foldably joined at elongated edges and constructed to form a multi-level elongated box. The first side panel has a pair of abutting end panels foldably joined to either end, with a tab receiving panel and a locking panel foldably joined to either side of the end panel. The second side panel has a pair of end panels foldably joined to either end, that are locked in place by the locking panels and tab receiving panels of the first side panel.
