Abstract: A folding box made of cardboard includes a blank which forms four lateral surfaces, a cover, and a base of a cuboid and which includes four main folding lines which divide the blank into four main surfaces and a securing surface. Each of the main surfaces has a main surface segment, which forms a respective lateral surface of the cuboid after the securing surface is secured to the opposite main surface, and multiple auxiliary folding lines, which run transversely to the main folding lines and each of which connects one of the main surface segments to an auxiliary surface segment. The auxiliary surface segments form the cover and the base of the cuboid.

Abstract: The invention relates to a packaging box (1) for substantially oblong products (2), each product having an intermediate part (3) of overall width which is greater than those of its ends (4, 5), comprising a bottom (6, 111, 112) and a lid (7; 109, 110, 112) made of cardboard sheet or corrugated cardboard material. The lid (7) comprises two lateral walls (8, 9; 110, 112) connected to one another by an upper wall (110, 109), the bottom and the upper wall having a width which is smaller than or equal to said overall width and the lateral walls (8, 9) being perforated by apertures (11) spaced apart at regular intervals opposite one another, arranged to allow the respective intermediate parts (3) of said products to be tightly packed.

Abstract: A display package for containing and displaying a steering wheel locking device having an elongate central tubular rod member and first and second pairs of spaced hooks connected to the tubular rod member includes a pair of generally equally sized, equally shaped front and rear panels that are superimposed and joined together to partially enclose a steering wheel locking device, the front and rear panels being configured to generally conform to the shape of the steering wheel locking device. Multiple packages can be stacked such that portions of adjacent steering wheel locks nest partially within one another and reduce otherwise wasted space between adjacent packages.

Abstract: A package for nail polish appliqués includes a carton having a front wall defining an aperture therein, and an insert sized and shaped to fit inside the carton. The insert has a front wall and a window that projects outwardly from its front wall and through the aperture of the carton when the insert is inserted into the carton. The insert contains a packet of nail polish appliqués, and an object that displays a design corresponding to the design of the nail polish appliqués, wherein the object is displayed through the window. A method for assembling the package is also disclosed.

Abstract: A container formed from a blank of sheet material includes, in an exemplary embodiment, opposing side walls, a front end wall, a back end wall, a top wall, and a bottom wall. An opening lip extends from a portion of the bottom of the front wall. Perforation lines extend diagonally from each end of the lip. Each perforation line extends to a side wall. Each side wall includes a perforation line extending from one of the front wall perforation lines to the upper corner of the sidewall adjacent the back end wall. Access holes are located in each side wall adjacent to the side wall perforation line. Another perforation line extends the width of the back end wall and intersects each of the perforation lines of the side walls.

Abstract: A packaging for at least one ball includes at least one opening that is configured to expose a portion of the ball. The openings are configured to restrict movement of the ball by engaging a surface of the ball. This packaging reduces the amount of the packaging material needed to produce the packaging while maximizing the amount of shelf space needed to display the packaging to increase visibility of the packaging.

Abstract: A displayable tool receiving device includes a hanger body having a hanger hole. The hanger body further includes a rectilinear first coupling portion and a plurality of spaced first positioning portions. The displayable tool receiving device further includes a plurality of tool receiving boxes each including a rear side having a rectilinear second coupling portion. The rear side of each tool receiving box further includes a second positioning portion. At least one of the tool receiving boxes is optionally mounted to the hanger body. The second coupling portion of each of the at least one of the plurality of tool receiving boxes is engaged with the first coupling portion of the hanger body. The second positioning portion of each of the at least one of the tool receiving boxes is engaged with one of the first positioning portions of the hanger body.

Abstract: A packaging/displaying device includes a main blank foldable into a housing that has a bottom panel, two side panels extending upwardly from two opposite sides of the bottom panel, a back panel extending upwardly from the bottom panel and connected between the side panels, and a top panel connected to a top end of the back panel and extending above the bottom panel, said top, bottom and side panels cooperatively defining a housing space for an object, the top panel having a through hole extending through said top panel to retain a top end of an object. The housing is open at its front side to display the object.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a display package that, in one embodiment, comprises a plurality of packs containing one or more products and a sleeve. The primary packs are arranged in a bundle and disposed within the sleeve. A separator panel can be included in certain embodiments of the bundle between the packs. Portions of the packs may protrude through apertures in the front and rear panels of the sleeve and apertures within the separator panel to assist with maintaining the bundle within the sleeve.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a display package that, in one embodiment, comprises a plurality of packs containing one or more products and a sleeve. Abstract: A magnetic storage device is disclosed which is capable of retaining a plurality of articles, each having a thickness and a magnetic affinity. The storage device includes a base having a cavity which houses a magnetic member and a tray which mates with the base to enclose the magnetic member. The tray has a plurality of cavities formed in an upper surface and each of the cavities is designed to retain one of the articles. Each of the cavities has an elongated, semi-circular configuration with opposite ends located adjacent to a pair of raised abutments. The pair of raised abutments extends to a height less than the thickness of each article. The storage device also includes a cover which can be secured to the tray to enclose the plurality of articles therein. A method of assembling the magnetic storage device is also disclosed.

The encasement may take on a variety of forms, including having a curved outer surface forming a cavity within the encasement. The carrier may also take on a variety of forms, including forms having a main surface and a device for elevating the transaction card off the main surface to create a visual effect that the transaction card is floating within the encasement. The packaging may further include a panel that at least partially obscures the transaction card from view.

Abstract: An ornamental enclosure for the display of a decorative pin. The ornament may be hung or stood on a flat surface. The enclosure has an opening in the front for viewing the interior which is a cavity for the reception of a puncturable, resilient and removable insert with a central portion made of a material for the piercing through of the post(s) portion of a decorative pin and defining a mounting surface for a decorative pin. The removable insert is placed in the enclosure producing a background for the decorative pin. Once inside the enclosure, the resilient insert assumes a shape conforming to a portion of the interior of the enclosure.

Abstract: A clamshell package is provided for holding and displaying a consumer product that comprises a bottle and a cap. The clamshell package comprises a first clamshell side and a second clamshell side, wherein at least a portion of the first and second clamshell sides are affixed together to hold the consumer product between the first and second clamshell sides. The clamshell package further comprises an aperture through which at least a portion of the cap of the consumer product extends from the clamshell package. The clamshell package is therefore able to hold and display the consumer product, while allowing a consumer to access the cap of the product in order to smell or to sample the product. A clamshell package is further provided for holding and displaying a consumer product comprising liquid composition contained in a tottle.

Abstract: A package and lock combination includes a package having an unopened state and including an aperture, and a lock contained within the package. The lock includes a first portion and a second portion moveable relative to the first portion for operating the lock. The first portion is substantially fixed within the package, and the second portion extends through the aperture so that the lock is operable while the lock is contained within the package and the package is in the unopened state.

Abstract: A case for holding a hand tool in a first position wherein the handle projects from the case and engages the hand tool such that the hand tool is prevented from being removed from the case while simultaneously, the handle can be operated with respect to the case to test a function of the hand tool. The case is also adapted to hold the hand tool in a second position wherein the handle fits within the case. The case includes a cover positioned on top of a base, wherein the cover has an opening that when combined with an anti-theft device is adapted to hold the hand tool in the first position. Also included is a base adapted to carry interchangeable bits for the hand tool. The base includes a through hole to allow the working end of the hand tool to pass therethrough and engage a frictional engaging member that opposes a direction of rotation of the working end to test a function of the hand tool.

Abstract: A bi-layer product package (12) includes a protective case (20) secured between opposed display and backing layers (14, 16) of the product package (12). A product display base (24) of the case projects through a display void (18) of the display layer (14) and houses a product (30). A capture lid (22) and twist-off securing structures (32, 40A, 40B, 42) of the case are secured between the display and backing layers (14, 16) of the package (12) to prevent the display base (24) from passing completely through the display layer (14). The display base (24) replaces a traditional transparent blister or projection of a blister pack during display of the product (30), and during usage of the product (30), thereby minimizing materials and manufacturing costs, while providing in one package (12) both a product (30) and a removable protective case (20) integral with the package (12).

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a display package for an animated doll or similar toy product that facilitates demonstration of the toy's animated features. The display package provides an enclosure that houses the doll. The doll includes an animation mechanism that drives a portion of the toy from a first position to a second position. The display package may include a moveable display panel mounted within the enclosure. The display panel is selectively engaged by the toy when the animation mechanism is engaged. The display package may include a support member that supports the toy within the package and permits the animation mechanism to move the doll from a first display position to a second display position.

The cover panel extends from the second side panel and is hingedly secured to the first product enclosure such that the cover panel is folded over the support panel, the cover panel having a bubble window. The product overlay includes a base portion secured between the support panel and the cover panel and a bubble portion projecting through the bubble window. The bubble portion is adapted to house a second product component separately from the first product component and to allow viewing of the second product component through the bubble portion.

Abstract: A drug card having a tamper proof serrated pull tab on the back. The pull tab is partially removed from the back of the drug card to provide access to a plurality of individually sealed doses of medicine. A single dose of medicine is removed from the plurality of individually sealed doses of medicine, after which the remaining individually sealed doses of medicine are placed back in the card and the card resealed. The integrity of the drug card is thereby maintained while presenting a brand name of the product to the consumer at all times.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a package and a method for displaying a product. The package may include a center element defining a hollow compartment enclosing a product disposed therein. The center element may include a pair of shafts extending outwardly from opposite sides of the center element, and multiple sides of the product may be visible from the exterior of the center element. The package may also include a support element including a pair of notches defined therein each corresponding to one of the shafts of the center element. The notches may receive the corresponding shafts of the center element to demountably engage the center element such that the center element is manually rotatable so that multiple sides of the product disposed within the center element may be viewable by the individual. The package may further include a package structure receiving the center element and support element therein, and including an opening for viewing the product and manually rotating the center element.

Abstract: A method of storing a plurality of objects being of an identical prismatic shape and stored within an open top storage container in an up-right, compact side-by-side relationship. Each object is placed forming an acute angle with respect to both adjacent objects, so that one corner portion thereof projects from between the adjacent objects and hence is easily accessible for retrieval from the container. The container has a bottom, side-walls and an open top for storing objects having an identical prismatic shape. The bottom of the container is formed so as to staggerly recline each object in relative opposite directions.

Abstract: A convertible display package and a wallet arranged to be hung from a support. The package includes a tray and a housing. The tray has a base wall, a peripheral side wall, an open top and a hollow interior. The wallet is located within the tray's interior. The housing is similarly constructed, except that its side wall includes a gap. The tray is arranged to be located within the housing, with its sidewall adjacent the housing's sidewall and with its open top within the housing's open top so that the wallet is visible. The tray is arranged to be slid out of the housing through the gap. A pair of magnets are provided for releasably holding the tray within the housing. The housing can be reversibly disposed with respect to the tray to form a lid with the base wall of the housing closing the open top of the tray.

The carton includes a front panel, a back panel and two opposing side panels defining an interior region, and a top closure and a bottom closure for enclosing a product within the carton. The first package fully surrounds and envelops the soap bar and in a preferred embodiment has a peripheral edge. The second package will contain one or more first packages with an aperture in at least one panel of the second package and a part of the first package protrudes through the second package and is stabilized in the second package. When the first package has a peripheral edge, it will be adjacent to the interior surface of the second package and additionally support the second package.

Abstract: Smoking articles, such as filter cigarettes, are packaged in a metal box which is curved to a shape that conforms to the curvature of the human body so that the box can be comfortably carried in a shirt or pant pocket. The metal box comprises a lid and a four sided tray. The lid and the tray have rolled lips which interengage to mechanically and slidably retain the lid to the tray. The lid covers the open front of the tray and is slidable along an arcuate path corresponding to the radius of curvature of the lid to selectively open or close the front of the tray. The lid of the box includes an abutment that prevents the lid of the box from being completely removed unless additional force is applied to push the abutment past the rear wall of the tray.

Abstract: A container apparatus for simultaneously housing a product and a premium, the apparatus comprising a carton and a premium item. The carton includes a front panel, a back panel and two opposing side panels defining an interior region, and a top closure and a bottom closure for enclosing a product within the carton. A recessing flap is formed in an originating panel selected from at least one of the front panel, back panel and two opposing side panels to form a recessed cell in the carton which is at least partially separated from the interior region of the carton. The recessed cell spans the originating panel and at least one adjacent access panel in the container which is positioned adjacent to the originating panel—to allow access to the recessed cell from outside the carton through at least two adjacent sides of the carton. The premium item is received in the recessed cell such that the premium item is likewise accessible from at least two sides of the carton.

Abstract: Packaging is provided for removably holding a pan and cover together. The packaging includes a sheet provided with a top and bottom panel and adapted to accommodate a cover of a pan between the top and bottom panels when expanded to form a loop. The top panel may define a first hole adapted to receive a cover handle. A portion of the sheet defines a second hole adapted to receive a handle of a pan. When the cover is inserted in the loop and the handle of a pan is inserted through the second hole, the cover is removably secured to the pan such that it can lie over an opening of the pan, yet be moved to view the inside of the pan thereby allowing a prospective buyer to inspect the interior of the pan. In the preferred embodiment, a rectangular sheet with two opposed ends secured together forms the packaging. The second hole, adapted to receive a handle of a pan, is provided adjacent the secured opposed ends.

Abstract: A display package for holding a wrist-watch and a wallet or billfold. The package is formed of a generally planar strip of foldable material having a first and second fold lines forming a front panel, a rear panel, and an intermediate panel. The panels are disposed with respect to each other and foldable along respective fold lines to form an interior space into which the wallet/billfold can be inserted. The rear panel includes a pair of openings through which the band of the wrist-watch can be extended to surround the package with the wallet/billfold therein. At least one of the front and rear panels includes advertising indicia and the front panel includes an opening to suspend the display package.

Abstract: Smoking articles, such as filter cigarettes, are packaged in a metal box which is curved to a shape that conforms to the curvature of the human body so that the box can be comfortably carried in a shirt or pant pocket. The metal box comprises a lid and a five-sided tray each of which has rolled lips which interengage to mechanically and slidably retain the lid to the tray. The lid covers the open front of the tray and is slidable along an arcuate path corresponding to the radius of curvature of the lid to selectively open or close the front of the tray. The metal box is sealed with a shrinkable band, further packaged in a paperboard box and overwrapped with a polymeric film having a tear tape. The package is unique and attractive and provides several product differentiation features.

Abstract: A carton is provided for displaying balls. The has top, bottom, front, back, and side walls. The top and bottom walls have openings therein sized and shaped to engage the ball substantially along the full circumference of the holes. Additionally, the carton includes interior braces, preferably at the four corners of the box. The ends of the braces have curved edges, the curvature of which correspond to the curvature of the ball, such that the ends of the braces contact the ball substantially along the full length of the braces. The braces preferably urge the ball upwardly (or downwardly) to urge the ball against the edge of the hole in the top (or bottom) wall. The size and shape of the braces and of the holes allow for a frictional engagement of the ball by the carton to reduce the possibility of unassisted movement of the ball relative to the carton.

Abstract: An accessory bag is disclosed having a lower surface, side surfaces, the side surfaces and the lower surface forming a compartment area. A rest area is provided within the compartment area for at least partially securing an accessory item in a desired orientation. A cover is associated with one of the side surfaces. The cover includes an open region for forming a hole through the cover. The rest area is accessible through the open region when the cover is in a closed position.

Abstract: A cost-effective package is described that creates a visual impression of a packaged item floating within a frame. The package includes a chassis having a compartment for holding the item and a frame for holding the chassis. The chassis includes a front panel and a rear panel. The chassis compartment is formed by a cavity in the front panel and a corresponding cavity in the rear panel. The chassis further includes a flange for installing the chassis into the frame. The flange is formed by first and second flange flaps that extend respectively from the front and rear chassis panels. The frame for holding the chassis includes a series of panels that fit around the outer perimeter of the chassis. One of the panels includes a guide channel and slot for receiving the chassis flange. The package is formed by sliding the chassis into the frame and folding the frame closed around the chassis.

Abstract: A device for displaying at least one hair swatch upon a support having a noncylindrical dome shaped portion. At least one hair swatch is held securely on the device, such that it extends over the dome shaped portion and such that it is shaped by the profile of the dome shaped portion. A cover can be provided to conceal one or more locations at which the swatch or swatches are fastened to the support. The cover can have an opening through which the dome and swatch extend. A plurality of the devices can also be arranged within a display having, for example, rows and columns of the display devices.

Abstract: A box includes bottom, opposed side, front, top, and rear panels, which define an interior space of the box. The box has a display opening and an invertible panel that includes a top edge. The invertible panel may include a first section coplanar with the front panel and a second section coplanar with a side panel when the invertible panel is in an unflexed position. In the unflexed position, a vertical passageway is formed behind the invertible panel and in front of the top panel. An article having a body depending from an elongated support can be packaged in the box by placing the support in the vertical passageway and positioning the body in the display opening. Force is applied to the article and/or the invertible panel whereby the invertible panel is moved into a second position and the article is contained within the interior space of the box.

Abstract: A freestanding portable lamp package for product display that can be placed on a store shelf or the like. The package is freestanding and protects the product contained therein from damage during shipment and display and prevents the need for an individual to remove the product from such packaging and disturb the contents within, while displaying the product to the public. The package utilizes a minimum of packaging materials. The package features a handle on the back side to make it easy for the customer to carry the product and package.

Abstract: A display container for displaying a spherical article includes a left side panel, a right side panel, and a connector coupled to the left side panel and the right side panel. Each of the left and right side panels includes a curved edge adapted to engage the spherical article. The curved edges cooperate to define a C-shaped opening to receive the spherical article therein. The connector is configured so that much of the surface area of the spherical article is exposed outside of the display container.

Abstract: An interactive packaging system is disclosed which is particularly suited for a door handleset and provides a potential purchaser with direct visual and tactile access to the product without the need of opening the packaging. Additionally, the packaging system includes a base which provides an increased footprint to stably support the packaging system in an upright position.

Abstract: A carrier for securely retaining one or more objects is provided, cut and scored from a unitary blank of paperboard or similar foldable sheet material so that it can be folded into two overlying panels and then manually fastened so that one panel is characteristically bowed away from the other to form an interior space. This bowed panel has at least one u-shaped mouth opening into this interior space, cut through the bowed panel face and large enough to allow an object to be loosely inserted through it with one-hand and retained therein for storage or transport. This carrier can then be integrated into the design of another product. Also, the carrier can be attached to the surface of selected articles with an adhesive strip applied to the back of the carrier or by using a standard pronged fastener that extends through openings provided in the carrier's back panel or by some other suitable attachment device.
