Dislodged dust deposits are collected and conveyed away for disposal or further use. To accomplish this, a screen base is disposed within a closable chamber. A first conveyor is disposed within the chamber below the screen base and leads to a transfer station. A mechanism for generating relative vibrations is disposed between the screen base and the atmosphere of the chamber. An enclosed second conveyor leads from the transfer station to a replacable receiving vessel. An infra sound producer is disposed within the chamber.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2000Date of Patent: October 9, 2001Assignee: Steag AktiengesellschaftInventor: Ralf Gilgen

Patent number: 6129214Abstract: The invention in the simplest form is a passive method and apparatus for filtering motile sperm from a sperm sample. The invention passively filters the motile sperm using a nucleopore membrane that is contained within a membrane assembly, wherein the membrane assembly is disposed in a container. In operation, a medium is placed in the container so the membrane contacts the medium. A sperm sample is placed one side of the membrane assembly, and the motile sperm migrate through the membrane leaving the non-motile sperm behind, where they can be easily extracted.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1998Date of Patent: October 10, 2000Inventors: Shalom Bar-Ami, Amnon Weichselbaum

Patent number: 5908115Abstract: A method and apparatus for the classification of solid particles, in particular powdery catalytic components for the polymerization of olefins, which comprises sending solid particles suspended in a transporting gas flow through a screening device. Immediately upstream to the screening device there is an auxiliary fluidized bed classifier, in which the top of the bed is at the level of the lower part of the screening device.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1997Date of Patent: June 1, 1999Assignee: Montell North America, Inc.Inventors: Gabriele Govoni, Arrigo Arletti

Patent number: 5881887Abstract: The present invention is directed to an electrolytically produced screening material for the removal of fibers from suspensions during the production of pulp and paper. The screening material is a thin, smooth metal foil having perforations on the order of 10-80 .mu.m. And an open area of 5% to 40%.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1995Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Inventor: Sigurd Fongen

Patent number: 5873469Abstract: An improved vibrating screener is disclosed as including an inlet system which provides for tangential input of the material to be processed by the screener. A spacing frame is provided in connection with the tangential inlet in order to separate materials by disengaging particles from the input material as it spirals down the side of the spacing frame and feed tray. During the spiraling down action, the material decreases in velocity. During the separation process, an external loop is used for by-passed air, thereby providing the full diameter of the machine for the by-pass screen, to avoid by-pass screen blinding. The by-passed air can then be used to pick up the screened powder at the bottom of the unit; or, the by-passed air is reintroduced below the separating screen to flush the machine free of screened product.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1996Date of Patent: February 23, 1999Assignee: Kason CorporationInventor: Lawrence H. Patent number: 5800578Abstract: A separating system for separating material transported by air utilizing apparatus having a tangential inlet for a stream of air and entrained material, a bottom material exit, a boundary wall air exit and a central interior air exit. Each air exit includes a perforated wall or screen through which air is removed or separated from the entrained material. Enhanced separating action is achieved through coupling two such separators in a loop arrangement such that the material discharge from a first separator is conveyed via a relay stream of air to serve as the input to a second separator, while the entire air exhaust from the second separator is returned as one of a plurality of inlet streams to the first separator. A further advantage is realized by partitioning the air exhaust of the first separator into a plurality of parallel passageways which can be individually closed.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1996Date of Patent: September 1, 1998Assignee: Air Conveying CorporationInventor: Richard D. Patent number: 5735403Abstract: A particle separator for use in a material flow system having an airflow generator to generate a flow of air to provide supply material having coarse and fine particulate material to the particle separator. The particle separator includes a housing having a top portion and a bottom portion and a longitudinal axis extending from a center of the top portion to a center of the bottom portion and a chamber defined within the housing. An inlet disposed towards the top portion of the housing is in communication with the flow of air and the supply material and is in further communication with the chamber. It is adapted to direct the flow of air and the supply material into the chamber. The chamber is adapted to facilitate swirling of the airflow and the supply material within the chamber. A cone-shaped air rotation circulator is in communication with the chamber and is configured to facilitate the flow of air directed into the chamber in a circular motion within the chamber.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1995Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Inventor: Michael L. Patent number: 5667080Abstract: A hand-held jeweler's vacuum comprises an elongated vacuum member with an opening at one end, motor drive means located at the other end and an aperture in the bottom of the elongated member. A detachable box member is mounted beneath the aperture to receive stones and metal pieces. Internally, a mesh filter and a vacuum filter are positioned in the intake path at approximately a 45 degree angle to the air flow and a pre-determined distance apart. In operation, the vacuum picks up metal and stones which are stopped by the mesh filter and the vacuum filter from proceeding through the vacuum filter and the stones and metals fall into the box. The stones and metals can the be removed while other particles are collected in the storage space beyond the filters. The invention permits the salvage of small stones and precious metals which otherwise would be lost during the manufacturing process.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1995Date of Patent: September 16, 1997Inventor: Stanley Klein

Patent number: RE38738Abstract: Cylindrical screen, particularly for paper pulp, of the type comprising at least one filtering element (10) positioned between two flanges (1, 2) by means of a number of bars (3). The filtering element is composed by wires (10) placed side by side and held by rings (11). This filtering element is rigid in the axial direction and is placed upstream from the above mentioned bars (3), in relation to the direction of flow of the pulp. The filtering element is held against the bars (3) through the rings (11) that are in contact with the bars without being attached to them, so as to maintain its shape by withstanding the pressure exerted by the pulp.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2002Date of Patent: May 31, 2005Assignee: Kadant LamortInventors: Alain Serres, Alain Fernandez de Grado
