  • Patent number: 11607709
Abstract: A centrifugal classifier including a classifier housing having at least one coarse material outlet and a classifier wheel, revolving in the classifier housing. The classifier wheel is comprised of a classifier drum and a classifier wheel shaft forming the axis of rotation of the classifier drum. A guide member is arranged near the coarse material outlet, at a set distance from the inner jacket surface of the classifier housing section surrounding the classifier drum. The guide member is configured such that classifying material flowing along the inner jacket surface at a radial distance less than or equal to the set distance circumvents the guide member and is discharged into the coarse material outlet and classifying material flowing along the inner jacket surface at a radial distance greater than the set distance is deflected in a radially inward direction toward the classifying drum.

  • Patent number: 7597200
Abstract: An apparatus for formation of a course of fibrous materials on a perforated forming wire mesh with an underlying suction box and an overlying fiber distribution box, in which a pair of rotating, perforated drum cylinders are provided for the delivery of a stream of air-fluidised fiber, which is then flung out down on to the wire mesh by the drawing-down of air by the suction box from the upper end of the distribution box, cover plates (18) is arranged at a distance below the upper level of the drum cylinders, which plates substantially shield-off the free flow of air down through the vertical spaces between the drums themselves and between the drums and the adjacent side walls of the distribution box.

  • Publication number: 20020153286
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for cleaning the screening device (2) of a screen (1). The screen (1) comprises at least said screening device (2) which has openings for the separation of particles of different sizes into fine material and coarse material, an actuator means for moving the screening device, a first conveying means (4) for guiding the material to be screened to the screening device (2) of the screen and a second conveying (8) means for moving the fine material that has passed through the screening device (2) and means (9) for guiding the separated coarse material away from the screen (1). For cleaning the screening device (2) a material is blown with the pressure medium at least at intervals through the screening device (2) in the opposite direction regarding fine material passing through, the particle size of which material being at least mainly smaller than the size of the openings of the screening device (2).

  • Patent number: 4904377
Abstract: An improvement for centrifugal sifter units having an elongated sifting chamber having a central axis, a coaxial screen surface therein and a series of paddles mounted on a shaft driven for rotation about the central axis for urging siftable material through the screen surface to separate fines from overs, comprises a series of nozzles mounted on the shaft for rotation therewith. The nozzles are oriented to direct gas streams at the screen surface whereby agglutinating fines are dislodged from each other and are directed through the screen surface. A source of compressed gas is operatively connected to the nozzles. The gas streams may be ionized to further improve throughput.

  • Patent number: 4043901
Abstract: A drum screen for cleaning and classifying wood chips is mounted for rotation. The screen has apertures of varying size to permit cleaned chips to pass through to be deposited on conveyors located below. An internal annular spiral baffle extends the full length of the drum and a series of chip lifters are located between the flights of the spiral baffle and project radially inwards from the interior surface of the drum. Wood chips are fed into the drum at one end and are carried through the drum while being lifted towards the axis of the drum by the chip lifters to effect loosening of waste material from the chips. Cleaned chips pass through the apertures in the drum and chips too large to pass through are carried forward and discharged from the end of the drum onto a conveyor. A casing surrounds the upper portion of the drum and partially encloses the discharge end of the drum. An air suction device is connected to the discharge end of the drum, drawing off all waste material loosened from the chips.

  • Patent number: 4018675
Abstract: A hexagonal-in-section trommel is rotatably mounted on a frame with the axis of rotation inclined downwardly from a waste material input end to a discharge end. The walls of the trommel include panels formed of screens having various predetermined mesh sizes, some relatively large, others relatively small.Inwardly projecting rods mounted on the interior walls of the trommel are spaced apart in such a way that larger pieces (such as old corrugated paper board, or cardboard, long strips of paper and plastic sheets) are engaged by the rods and are lifted up the side walls of the trommel, thereby allowing smaller pieces of waste material not lifted by the rods to pass downwardly through the screen mesh for removal by a subjacent conveyor.Concurrently, as the larger pieces approach the top of the trommel, they are disengaged from the rods by gravity; and as the larger pieces fall toward the bottom of the trommel, they concurrently move toward the discharge end owing to the trommel's inclination.
