Patent number: 10758940Abstract: A mobile sieving apparatus and method for harvesting cannabis pollen and trichomes separates the flowers of a cannabis plant. A large sieve panel, a medium sieve panel, a small sieve panel, and a silk screen panel are arranged in a spaced-apart stacked arrangement inside a harvesting vehicle. The sieved panels have different sized openings to enable passage of corresponding portions of the cannabis plant. The sieve panels are arranged by graduated separation, in which the distance between panels correlates to the size of the cannabis plant components passing through the opening. A harvesting panel has a solid, flat surface, and positions below the sieve panels to catch the pollens and trichomes falling through. The panels are stacked in a harvesting vehicle, sliding onto docking rails that slidably receive the edges of panels. The harvesting vehicle is lightweight to enable manual agitation of the vehicle, and enhance mobility of the panels.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2018Date of Patent: September 1, 2020Inventor: Christopher J. Patent number: 5769239Abstract: A gravity flow apparatus that scalps off the large pieces of foreign material from grain before processing or storage. The scalper consists of an upright housing with a grain inlet at the top. The grain enters the housing and drops onto a dead head slide. The dead head slide with a flexible baffle slows the momentum of the falling grain then spreads the grain out over the slide width before it enters the screen. The slide is sloped to suit the grain's natural angle of repose and is lined with an anti-friction material for mass flow. The grain enters the full width of the screen while a second baffle stops grain from freely pouring into the foreign material discharge. The screen is adjustable to allow the grain to spread on the screen at its natural angle of repose while trash is scalped off over the screen into the trash discharge.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1995Date of Patent: June 23, 1998Assignee: Consolidated Process Machinery, Inc.Inventors: Kelsey C. Patent number: 5667080Abstract: A hand-held jeweler's vacuum comprises an elongated vacuum member with an opening at one end, motor drive means located at the other end and an aperture in the bottom of the elongated member. A detachable box member is mounted beneath the aperture to receive stones and metal pieces. Internally, a mesh filter and a vacuum filter are positioned in the intake path at approximately a 45 degree angle to the air flow and a pre-determined distance apart. In operation, the vacuum picks up metal and stones which are stopped by the mesh filter and the vacuum filter from proceeding through the vacuum filter and the stones and metals fall into the box. The stones and metals can the be removed while other particles are collected in the storage space beyond the filters. The invention permits the salvage of small stones and precious metals which otherwise would be lost during the manufacturing process.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1995Date of Patent: September 16, 1997Inventor: Stanley Klein

Patent number: 5588535Abstract: A system for preparing samples of wear particles employs a series of movable particle traps or screens within a passage to separate particles by size and magnetic characteristics. Movable magnets are placed adjacent to an inlet tube upstream from the particle traps to separate magnetic particles from non-magnetic particles. One embodiment includes a coarse particle trap and a medium particle trap. A controller initially positions the magnets adjacent to the tube and positions both particle traps to block the passage so that only fine non-magnetic wear particles are collected in the first sample. The medium non-magnetic wear particles are then rinsed from the medium particle trap to provide a second sample. Next, the coarse non-magnetic wear particles are rinsed from the coarse particle trap to provide the third sample.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1994Date of Patent: December 31, 1996Assignee: Synectic Technology, Inc.Inventors: Michael G. Patent number: 4755287Abstract: Cells are normally separated by velocity sedimentation and/or density gradient centrifugation, counter current distribution or selective agglutination. The cells may also be separated using a multi-sectioned plastic sleeve defined by a plurality of plastic cylinders with screens and O-rings therebetween and a retaining plate at the top end of the cylinders. These methods present various problems including a large variation in the sizes of cells isolated in any fraction, high costs of materials, and/or exposure of the cells to air immediately following separation. These problems are overcome by means of a simple cell separator which permits separation on the basis of size, and which is sealed maintaining a sterile environment during the separation process.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1987Date of Patent: July 5, 1988Inventor: Wendy L. Patent number: 4250024Abstract: A glass bead separating apparatus and method are disclosed, for use with a slurry blast cabinet. The system is capable of continuous operation, so that glass beads which are broken and undersized can be separated out of the slurry along with debris from the blasting operation, on a continuous basis while blasting takes place, and the slurry can be continuously returned to the blasting cabinet in the purified condition. Used slurry is withdrawn from a hopper at the bottom of the blasting cabinet, pumped up to the top of the separator apparatus and delivered through a nozzle over an inclined screen sized to pass everything but reuseable, whole glass beads. The reuseable beads are collected in a bin, while the remainder passes down onto another, much finer screen which retains nearly everything but the liquid slurry medium, which is preferably water. The relatively clean water drops into a holding tank at the bottom of the separator apparatus, with an overflow weir provided to maintain a preselected water level.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 1979Date of Patent: February 10, 1981Assignee: Vacu*Blast CorporationInventors: Paul Soares, Henry J.
