  • Patent number: 11938516
Abstract: A vibratory screening machine includes replaceable screen assemblies. Compression mechanisms are used to secure replaceable screen assemblies to the vibratory screening machine. Each compression mechanism applies a force to a replaceable screen assembly that includes both a horizontal component and a downward vertical component. Each replaceable screen assembly is typically substantially flat prior to installation on a vibratory screening machine. The force applied to a screen assembly by one or more compression mechanisms causes the screen assembly to be pushed into engagement with underlying concave support members such that the screen assembly itself assumes a concave shape with the center of the screen assembly being lower than the side edges. The vertical downward component of the force helps to secure the screen assembly to the screening machine.

There is no additional metal material in, within, or on the first or second polymeric support members, and the desired screen spacing is maintained even when the first and second polymeric support members are applied and cured.

  • Patent number: 8857623
Abstract: A screen retainer having adjustable tensioning includes a bushing and a tensioning device. The bushing has a center and a thickness that varies radially about the center. The tensioning device includes a surface adapted to receive the bushing, a spring, an engagement member, and at least one screen contact surface. The engagement member is coupled to the tensioning device and is adapted to engage the bushing. The engagement member can be eccentric with respect to the center of the bushing in an installed configuration. The at least one screen contact surface is adapted to engage and place a compressive force on the screen when the spring is placed in compression by an exertion of force by the engagement member on the bushing. The compressive force placed on the screen can be varied based at least in part on a rotation of the bushing on the surface.

  • Patent number: 8727127
Abstract: A screening apparatus includes beams and screen panels forming a broad screening surface. Each panel is mounted to a pair of beams along opposite side edges to bridge between two adjacent beams. The panels are mounted to an upwardly facing edge of the beams by elongate fixing members extending in the longitudinal direction of the beams. The fixing members engage opposite side edges of the panels and include a pair of projections that extend into openings provided in the edge of the beams. Each projection is engaged by a locking clip to prevent release from the openings. The openings into which the projections extend are of greater diameter than the outside diameter of the projections providing a loose fit within the openings, to allow movement of the fixing rails and the screen panels before the projections are engaged by a locking clip.

  • Patent number: 8596464
Abstract: A frame over which woven wire mesh is to be stretched and secured to form a sieving screen and which can be used to screen solids from drilling mud recovered from down-hole when drilling for oil or gas. The frame is a rectilinear moulded plastics frame having edge regions by which it is secured in place in a shaker. Within the frame is a plurality of rectilinear windows formed by an orthogonal array of intersecting ribs also of moulded plastics material. Some of the ribs are internally reinforced by rigid metal members which extend orthogonally between hollow box-section members which define a sub-frame for reinforcing the four edge regions of the frame. The orthogonal members are secured at their ends to the sub-frame. The ends of the sub-frame members are joined at the four corners of the sub-frame. In this way not are only the edge regions of the frame reinforced internally but so also are some of the orthogonally intersecting ribs, so as thereby to produce a rigid frame for the screen.
