Divergent Travel Patents (Class 209/441)
  • Patent number: 4225427
Abstract: A sorting apparatus for a stock suspension obtained from waste paper, comprising a separation container having a free liquid surface for the separation of heavy weight particles and floating particles. Arranged after the separation container is a segregating or separator container for the separation of large surface particles floating in the stock suspension. The removal of the particles can be accomplished by rake devices provided with tines or prongs or the like. There also can be subsequently arranged removal devices containing coarse-mesh and fine-mesh sieves.

  • Patent number: 4221035
Abstract: The removal of so-called zip-tape from reclaim tobacco is achieved by use of an elongate vibratory conveyor having grooves extending longitudinally therewith and of longitudinal depth profile preselected from groove-containment of the reclaim tobacco, except for the zip-tape content thereof. Rollers having surface affinity for the zip-tape are arranged in overlying relation to the conveyor surface and groove rises, and are disposed in acute angle relation with the conveyor feed direction. The rollers are supported for joint movement with the conveyor so as to be maintained in fixed relation to the conveyor surface during vibration. Zip-tape encountered by the surfaces of the rollers is withdrawn from the conveyor grooves and is displaced successively transversely of the conveyor for collection aside the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4217208
Abstract: Solid lubricating particles such as spherical plastic beads which are useful in drilling operations are separated from drill cuttings by (1) depositing a mixture of the particles and cuttings on a reciprocating deck which operates in a manner such that the mixture moves in one direction across the deck and (2) passing a wash stream across the mixture in a second direction approximately perpendicular to the direction of the mixture flow. The wash stream causes the solid lubricating particles to move in the second direction at a rate significantly greater than the drill cuttings. The lubricating particles are readily recovered from the drill cuttings for reuse in the drilling operation.

  • Patent number: 4190678
Abstract: A frame structure having a pre-dewatering unit fixedly mounted thereon and a final-dewatering and inspection table unit movably mounted thereon. The pre-dewatering unit includes a vertically extending receiving compartment through which the mixture of water and vegetables passes upwardly from bottom to top and a pre-dewatering chute adapted to receive the mixture flowing over the top of the receiving chamber. The pre-dewatering chute includes an upper chamber and a lower chamber separated by a screen member. The screen member is positioned at an angle to the horizontal so that the solid material in the mixture will pass over the top surface of the screen member and a substantial portion of the liquid material will pass through the screen member into the lower chamber. The final-dewatering and inspection table unit includes a final-dewatering section and an inspection table section, both of which are vibrated by a suitable vibratory means.

  • Patent number: 4078996
Abstract: The invention relates to a vibrating table allowing very fine particles to be separated with output rates greater than for known tables. The table, supplied with pulp has a series of longitudinal grooves having a decreasing depth. The table mounted with the aid of spring blades on a chassis having an adjustable inclination by means of screws. The positions of the weights of a box are controlled by the group motor having a variable speed, are angularly and radially adjustable. The adjusting of the frequency during the operation allows a maximum output. The invention is applicable to the gravimetric separation of all particles.

  • Patent number: 3933249
Abstract: A secondary light sensitive photoelectric product separator for use with a primary product separator that concentrates a material so that it is visually distinguishable from adjacent materials. The concentrate separation is accomplished first by feeding the material onto a vibratory inclined surface with a liquid flow, such as a wet concentrating table. Vibrations generally perpendicular to the stream direction of flow cause the concentrate to separate from its mixture according to its color. When the concentrate and its surrounding stream reach the recovery end of the table, a detecting device notes the line of color demarcation and triggers a signal if it differs from a normal condition. If no difference is noted nothing moves on the second separator. However, if a difference is detected in the constant monitoring of the color line's location, a product splitter and recovery unit normally positioned near the color line at the recovery end, moves to a new position.
