Divergent Or Opposite Travel Patents (Class 209/472)
  • Patent number: 8616379
Abstract: A portable device for use in the efficient extraction of gold from other materials commonly found in placer deposits of gravel, sand and etc. This is accomplished by utilizing two sub-assemblies easily attached to existing gold recovery equipment such as the common gold sluice and etc. This is accomplished by utilizing four sub-assemblies. Two on opposite sides and also two on opposite ends of the sluice tray. Each sub-assembly consists of a side bracket 14 and leg socket 18, which are conjoined by means of leg socket retaining fasteners 32. These are in turn are attached to cross brace 20 by means of side bracket positioning screws 28. Two sub-assemblies are attached to each other on opposite sides of the sluice tray and conjoined by means of shoulder bolt 22, washer 24 and retaining nut 26. After secure attachment of the two opposite sub-assemblies the legs are inserted into leg socket 18 and held in place by locking screw 16. These same actions are then performed on the opposite end of the gold sluice.

  • Patent number: 7987992
Abstract: The invention describes a process and apparatus producing a dense coke fraction from a first particulate coke fraction having a first average density and a first average particle size distribution, stratifying the coke fraction in a density separator into at least two fractions, the at least two fractions comprising a light coke fraction and the dense coke fraction. The dense fraction having an average density greater than the first average density and a particle size distribution substantially equivalent to the first average particle size distribution. The apparatus includes an inclined oscillating table comprising a gas-pervious deck, and a gas mover.

  • Patent number: 7708145
Abstract: The present invention discloses a combined dry sorting bed, the sorting bed is arranged with an inclination, and the inclination between the longitudinal extending of said bed surface and horizontal plane is from ?2° to +4°, and the inclination between the lateral extending of said bed surface and horizontal plane is from 0° to +15°. By reasonable setting of the angle of inclination, the material being separated spiral overturn continuously on the sorting bed under the influence of the rising air currents and the force of vibration, with the result that the light material in the upper layer is separated under the influence of weight. The material is sorted for many times during the circularly movements, the product with different content of ash can be obtained. This invention also relates to a combined dry sorting device that comprises frame, sorting bed, vibrator and air supply device.

  • Patent number: 5520289
Abstract: A device for separating lighter insulation material from heavier metallic material present in decomposed electric cables or the like, which device comprises an inlet (8) for mixed insulation and metallic material, and a first outlet for the insulation material and a second outlet for the metallic material, separate from the first outlet. The device further comprises a track (40) inclined relative to the horizontal plane, to which the mixed material is delivered from the inlet and which is profiled such that when a reciprocating movement is imparted thereto essentially in the plane of the track, the metal material is transported towards the upper end of the track where it is fed out through the second outlet while the insulation material is transported towards the lower end of the track where it is fed out through the first outlet.

  • Patent number: 5024334
Abstract: A system for gravity table separation including a gravity table for separating materials and a detector operatively associated with the gravity table for detecting the movement of control particles with respect to the gravity table during its operation. The control particles are of a known characteristic. By calibrating the desired movement of the control particles through the table, any misalignment or deviance of that movement during operation is detected, and adjustments can be made to the operation of the table to bring the control particles back to the desired movement. The separation process can then be controlled to bring about optimum efficiency. Also, the detector can be interfaced with a control component which can automatically adjust the operation of the table in response to whether the control particles are following the desired movement through the table.

  • Patent number: 4953709
Abstract: An apparatus for sorting lightweight from heavy material in mixtures of solid materials containing lumpy, granular, and pulverous constituents substantially comprises an upright slim container having a lower portion into which material for sorting is introduced. Pulsating air flows are introduced from the exterior into the container, resulting in an upward flow of pulsating air which loosens the material for sorting and produces a fluidized bed. Simultaneously, the apparatus is vibrated up and down in a linear manner by vibrators to assist in loosening the material. The lightweight material floating in the air stream is conveyed to a discharge channel at the top end of the container, whereas heavy material rapidly sinks down to a tubular member into which a second pulsating air flow is introduced in order additionally to sort the heavy material in a last treatment stage inside the tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4033458
Abstract: Shredded scrap is conveyed from a heat generating automobile shredder to one end of a horizontal tumbling drum and is caused to move in one direction through the drum as it tumbles. An air stream which has aspirated heat generated by the shredder, and carrying particulate material removed from the scrap in the shredder, is directed by ductwork to the opposite end of the tumbling drum where the air and particulate matter move in counterflow through the tumbling scrap to remove additional particulate material therefrom as the shredded particles are being showered through the air stream. The particulate material in the air stream emerging from the tumbling drum is separated out by a cyclonic separator. A bypass air stream duct with an adjustable valve bypasses some of the air stream around the tumbling drum to control the velocity of the air stream through the tumbling drum and thus to control the size of the particulate material removed from the scrap by the counterflow air stream.
