Abstract: A material classifier for classifying a liquid-solid mixture containing solid material to be separated. The material classifier includes a tank and an angularly mounted scoop wheel for scooping solid material which has settled on the bottom of the tank.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of separating medium-sized materials such as trash, bottles, floated articles, and submerged articles from garbage for collection by means of wind and water is disclosed. Moreover, an initial cleaning of garbage and a dilution of toxic materials contained therein are performed while disposing garbage, thereby significantly reducing a possibility of contracting diseases by or poisoning cleaning employees.

Abstract: A separator system for separating first material from second material, in one aspect for separating gumbo from drilling fluid, a combination of the first material and second material introducible to the separator system, the separator system having a screen conveyor having a plurality of spaced-apart rods or shafts, a plurality of wires, for each pair of adjacent rods or shafts of the plurality of spaced-apart rods or shafts a wire of the plurality of wires wrapped partially, once, or more around the rods of the pairs of spaced-apart rods, and portions of the rods and portions of the wires defining openings through which the first material is passable and through which the second material is not passable so that the screen conveyor separates the first material from the second material.

Abstract: A device for the elimination of trimmings of rolls or logs of ribbon-like material that can be connected below a cropper machine of at least one roll or log, in turn fed by a feed surface (11) of rolls (12) and top and/or tail crop ends (21), one after another, comprising, below of the feed surface (11), at least one conveyor element (16) closed in a ring which moves around a pulley (14) and which receives the rolls (12) and top and/or tail crop ends (21) on an upper section, the conveyor element (16) having an opening (17) with a dimension at least equivalent to the diameter of a log, inside which the top and/or tail crop ends (21) fall, the opening (17) being positioned as the conveyor element (16) rotates at the beginning of the upper section when the top and/or tail crop ends (21) reach this point.

Abstract: A bean sprouts processing apparatus includes a feeding section, a treating section and a separating section arranged in sequence substantially in a horizontal manner. The feeding section includes a receptacle for receiving un-processed bean spouts therein and a conveyor for conveying the bean sprouts to the treating section. The treating section has a sprout tray movably supported on a base with a shaking device arranged between the sprout tray and the base to shake the sprout tray relative to the base so as to separate husks from the sprouts and to break roots of the sprouts and also move the sprouts and the separated husks and broken roots toward the separating section. A cooling device is optionally mounted on the base of the treating section to lower the temperature of the sprouts down to about 3.degree.-5.degree. C. The separating section has a sprout support plate movably supported on a base to receive the sprouts from the treating section.

Abstract: A sorting machine which serves for treatment of mixtures of refuse, especially household rubbish, trade waste, industrial waste, refuse from demolition, waste from building sites, and also waste from wood or the like. To achieve a drum-like motion, a mixture of useful material is supplied to a conveyor belt which is inclined transversely to the direction of transport, the conveyor belt having the shape of part of a cylindrical shell. For the production of a screen effect, the screen conveyor belt is provided with screen pockets on its surface, so that fine material falling into the screen pockets is transported in the longitudinal direction of the screen conveyor belt, and coarse material is transported in the transverse direction of the screen conveyor belt, and thereby they are separated.

Abstract: An apparatus for separating objects of different shapes or sizes is described. A vibrating conveyor belt is equipped with upwardly projecting fingers spaced at intervals to entrap therein objects of a particular size or shape and convey them in the direction of the movement of the belt and to simultaneously support objects of another shape or size on the ends of the fingers and to convey them by vibration in a direction different from the movement of the belt, thereby separating the objects.
