Items Travel Circumferentially And Longitudinally Of Turning Axis Patents (Class 209/690)
  • Patent number: 11219157
Abstract: A device for cleaning root vegetables include at least two rollers each rotatably mounted about an axis perpendicular to a direction of travel of the root vegetables on the rollers. At least one of the rollers is equipped with a means for heating its outer wall. Thus, with the outer wall of the roller being heated, this has the effect of drying soil that is possibly stuck thereon. This drying is enough to make the soil crisp and to overcome the suction phenomenon of wet soil on the roller and on reliefs of the roller. Vibrations due to the displacement of the root vegetables on the rollers ensure that the dried soil is detached and falls to the ground.

  • Publication number: 20090188842
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for separating elastomeric materials from mixed material streams. A separator includes a bank of parallel rollers extending longitudinally between a first end and a second end. The bank of parallel rollers having a predefined inclination with the first end elevated higher than the second end. Mixed material streams are fed onto a top surface of the high end of the inclined parallel rollers. A material having less friction and elasticity slides down the inclined roller bank top surface are collected into a collection bin positioned adjacent the second, lower end of the roller bank. Other materials having a higher friction coefficient grip the rollers more and are lifted out of the valley due to friction migrating perpendicular to the rotating rollers and are collected in a collection bin positioned adjacent one side of the roller bank parallel to the longitudinal roller axis.

  • Patent number: 6244445
Abstract: A hollow rotating drum 1 is provided in an oblique manner and is rotated by two pairs of rollers 3a, 3b. A size classification unit 2 is provided in the vicinity of a center of the rotating drum in a lengthwise direction of the drum, and water is added from a water addition unit 4. An object to be moisturized is supplied from an opening on an upper portion of the rotating drum in a supplying direction 5 of the object. Then, the object is moved spirally within the rotating drum to be moisturized. An object, i.e., a moisture-processed substance having a size equal to or smaller than the predetermined size is classified by the size classification unit to be continuously discharged in a direction 6 of movements of the moisture-processed substance. Also, an object, i.e., residue having a larger size than the predetermined size, is continuously discharged from an opening on an underside of the rotating drum in a direction 7 of movements of the residue.

  • Patent number: 5632380
Abstract: A system for recovering ferrous metal components from waste materials includes a first magnetic separator for magnetically separating ferrous metal components from waste material and an impacting device for dislodging residual waste material from the surface of ferrous metal components separated by the first magnetic separator. The system may also include a second magnetic separator following the impacting device, a water washing system for cleaning ferrous metal components retained by the second magnetic separator, a ferrous metal collection station, a waste material collection station and conveyors for conveying the various unseparated and separated materials throughout the system. The impacting device includes a solid wall rotatable drum having at least one radially inwardly projecting protruberance on its interior surface. As the drum rotates, the protruberances lift the ferrous materials separated by the first magnetic separator.

  • Patent number: 5390799
Abstract: The machine comprises a hollow rotary body (1) of large dimensions which may be loaded with the containers to be recycled, nozzles for supplying and spraying washing fluid at a predetermined temperature to the rotary body (1) for the mutual separation and washing of the containers and the initial separation of labels and bases, and mechanical impact devices (2), (21, 23) housed in the rotary body (1) and actuated by the rotation of this body so as to exert on the containers a mechanical action suitable for the mutual separation of the containers themselves, the separation of the stoppers and the completion of the washing and label and base separation operation. The rotary body (1) may have an inlet opening (5) and an outlet opening (7) for the containers to be recycled or a single inlet and outlet opening (30) so as to form a machine operating continuously or discontinuously respectively.

  • Patent number: 4533054
Abstract: Solid waste incinerator fuel is preclassified by passing it through a hollow rotating cylindrical drum which has two sets of extensions from the wall going lengthwise along the length of the drum, the first set toward one end and the second toward the other, the second set being shorter or smaller-sized than the first and the first preferably having rodlike projections which may have at least partly knifelike or bladelike ends or edges at the axial or inner ends thereof. The first set of extensions homogenizes the incoming waste by lifting, dropping, churning, and ripping it as well as fluffing it. The second set of extensions, preferably angled, lifts smaller sized heavier, non-combustible particles to the upper part of the drum from which they are removed at the exit end. The lighter material, mostly combustibles such as paper, textiles and wood, for example, is discharged toward the bottom of the exit end of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4232506
Abstract: Method and apparatus for mechanically removing tomatoes from their vines after the vines have been severed from their roots and lifted aboveground. The severed and lifted vines are fed in between a rotary shaker and stationary guides, for example, a rotary drum with radially outwardly projecting rods and arcuate guide rods around the drum. The vines are shaken by subjecting them to angular acceleration and deceleration while the vines are transported around an arcuate path. The tomatoes shaken from the vines are collected, and the stripped vines are dropped back on the ground.
