Patent number: 5899340Abstract: A portable vibrating screen which has an arched frame, a basket supported on top of the arched frame by springs and a rotatable eccentric shaft for imparting a reciprocal movement to the basket. The arched frame has a vertical tall end, a vertical short end and two spaced apart stringer members joining the upper portions of the tall and short ends. The stringer members define an inclined plane between the tall end and the short end. The tall end has a first pair of spaced apart leg members and a first ballast mounted between the leg members of that first pair. The short end has a second pair of leg members and a second ballast mounted between the leg members of that second pair. An amplitude of a vibration of the basket transmitted to the arched frame is largely absorbed by the mass of the first and second ballasts. In another aspect of the present invention, the eccentric shaft has bearings attached to the basket and to the stringer members for retaining the basket along the inclined plane.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1996Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Inventor: Douglas J. Patent number: 5622265Abstract: A mobile apparatus and process for the separation and recovery of abrasive grit material from blasting material containing waste material and contaminants. The mobile apparatus has a low profile which facilitates the movement of the apparatus to job sites. At the job site the blasting material is collected by the mobile apparatus through a flexible hose connected to a chamber which is under sub atmospheric pressure. A vacuum generator that reduces the pressure in the chamber has sufficient power to allow vacuum collection of the blasting material through the flexible hose when material flow might otherwise clog the hose. The abrasive grit material is removed from the blasting material by a self-contained, multi-step separation process situated within the chamber. The mobile apparatus utilizes an initial physical separator, a rotary screen separator, a magnetic separator, and an air wash separation device that are interconnected by a rotary lift wheel.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: April 22, 1997Assignee: PCT, Inc.Inventors: John C. Patent number: 5411147Abstract: A dynamic landfill recycling system has wheels attachable to a plurality of refuse processing sections in one or more semi-trailer or other vehicular units. A refuse receiving section has a dump bed or one or more vehicular refuse bins to accept new refuse from refuse trucks or optionally to accept old refuse from old refuse sites for processing, A primary conveyor belt is slanted upwardly towards a vibratory feeder. The primary conveyor is rotated rapidly to throw the refuse in an arc onto the vibratory feeder where the throwing action causes the refuse to spread out as it falls. The vibratory feeder is slanted downwardly at an angle which causes vibrated refuse to fall towards a bottom end and a bag cutter that is positioned above and intermediately between ends of the vibratory feeder to further expose and scatter the refuse on the vibratory feeder. A magnetic separator belt conveys the scattered refuse upwardly to a magnetic pulley wheel which separates ferrous from non-ferrous materials.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1993Date of Patent: May 2, 1995Inventor: David S. Patent number: 5100537Abstract: A waste collecting and recycling system where a portable waste sorting apparatus is located at a first collecting location. Waste from a nearby locality is brought to the collecting location where the recyclable material is sorted out and carried to another location for recycling or possibly further shipment. Then the portable separating apparatus is moved to a second collecting location and the process is repeated. The waste material brought to these locations can in some instances be presorted, with further sorting or separation being accomplished at the collecting locations. Thus, efficiencies are realized in transportation costs and also in effective use of the sorting apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 1990Date of Patent: March 31, 1992Assignee: Krause Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Herbert K. Patent number: 4778219Abstract: A jigging machine, particularly a movable sieve jigging machine, for the preseparation of deads from valuable material comprises an oscillatory jig bed in the housing filled with separating fluid and comprises deads and valuable material discharge devices located therein, as well as an oscillatory drive for the jig bed. The jigging machine is suitable for underground mining operations in that the outer dimensions of the jigging machine, with respect to the height and width theeof, are designed smaller than the tunnel cross-section of an underground mining operation. A relatively low structure is achieved by designing the housing as a flat trough towards a deads discharge end with the deads discharge being provided as a rising conveyor parallel to the bottom of the trough. Advantageously it is achieved that the quantity of deads to be conveyed is reduced and a considerable saving is provided in terms of energy and expense.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1985Date of Patent: October 18, 1988Assignee: Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz AGInventors: Peter Wilczynski, Werner Strauss

Patent number: 4187946Abstract: This invention relates to a machine for harvesting market-size worms from their bedding that lays in the bottom of a flat-bottomed trough-like bed. The machine is self-propelled and travels lengthwise of the beds riding atop their side walls. A novel digger is provided on the front end of the unit made up of a rotating reel with rake-forming tined shafts, the tines of which remain in parallel relation at all times due to a pair of independently rotating eccentrically positioned hubs that rotate in unison therewith and are operatively connected thereto by a series of parallel links. The digger rakes the bedding along with the worms contained therein back onto a conveyor belt that carries the mixture upwardly and rearwardly and deposits it onto a shaker screen inclined downwardly and rearwardly above the open trough.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1978Date of Patent: February 12, 1980Inventor: Walter A.
