  • Patent number: 10786771
Abstract: The fuel filter (1) contains a filter element (4) and an additive tank (13) in a housing (2, 3). The filter element is engaged against the removable cover (3) of the housing and has a filter medium (5) extending in an annular manner around an inner space (9). An additive release device (32) extends into this inner space (9) to distribute liquid additive from the tank (13) into a fuel circulation circuit for an internal combustion engine. The additive selectively flows into a sealed distribution channel (DC) of the device (32) depending on an open or closed configuration of an actuator component (62) associated with the distribution channel. The distribution channel (DC) opens into a fuel channel (52) of the cover (3) that has a larger cross-section than the distribution channel (DC).

Abstract: A filter arrangement includes a filter cartridge having a first filter element and a second filter element. The first filter element includes a first tubular section of filter media extending between first and second end caps and defining a first open filter interior. The second filter element includes a second tubular section of filter media operably oriented in the first open filter interior. The second tubular section of filter media extends between third and fourth end caps and defines a second open filter interior. The first end cap defines an inner container and an outer container circumscribing the inner container. The outer container is secured to the first tubular section of filter media. The inner container has an end wall axially spaced from the outer container. The third end cap has a media end secured to the second tubular section of filter media and a tubular wall axially extending from the media end. The tubular wall is circumscribed by the inner container of the first end cap.

Abstract: The present invention teaches a method and apparatus to quickly and inexpensively implement advanced filtration to engines and systems using spin-on oil filter by using a system adapter sandwiched between the spin-on oil filter and the engine block affixed by a nipple adapter. The system adapter has the ability to make quick hydraulic connection to the inlet and outlet of a bypass grade or advanced filter, where oil is super cleaned, without modifications to the engine as is the paradigm by traditional bypass filtration systems and without removing any lubricant from the engine or system that the present invention is connected to, as is the paradigm of traditional bypass filtering systems.

Abstract: A filtration device and method for removing pollutants from fluid such as storm-water. The filtration device has a chamber including a series of pivotal filtration assemblies each including a weir and filter. The filters are selected and positioned for sequentially filtering larger then smaller pollutant particles from the water flowing through the device. The weirs are configured and positioned for sequentially permitting water overflow of (and thereby taking off-line) the smaller-particle size filters then the larger-particle size filters from the water flowing through the device. And the filtration assemblies are pivotally mounted to the chamber walls and configured so that, when one of the filters becomes clogged, the water pressure against it causes that filter assembly to pivot into a bypass position permitting water to flow under it.
