  • Patent number: 7510662
Abstract: A contaminant-flushing machine for removing contaminants from a container, such as an engine transmission, air-conditioner coil, or transmission cooler, which includes hoses for coupling to the transmission cooler and a pump for circulating fluid through the hoses and the transmission cooler, and a fluid filter having a reduced tendency towards causing vaporization of the fluid. Also included in the contaminant-flushing machine is an automatic aeration system for injecting air into the circulating fluid at predetermined intervals. Additionally, a reverse flow piping circuit is included to permit automatic and electric manipulation of the flow direction of fluid through said transmission cooler while at the same time not altering the direction of flow of fluid through the pump. The flow reversals are repeated with a cycle of three (3) seconds in one direction followed by a flow in the other direction of one-fourth (ΒΌ) of a second, thereby creating an overall flow of fluid primarily in one reverse direction.

  • Publication number: 20090078629
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for filtering of oil circulating in an internal combustion engine, comprising an oil filter adapter 2 for detachable fastening of an exchangeable oil filter 3 to the engine block 1 of the internal combustion engine. The invention is characterized in that the oil filter adapter 2 has a receptacle 13 with an inserted pin 14, the receptacle 13 having an outflow 10 for returning the oil flowing from the exchangeable oil filter 3, the receptacle 13 having a channel 11 which leads in particular to an oil pump, and the receptacle 13 having a drain 12 which leads in particular to the cylinder crankcase, the pin 14 being inserted elastically pretensioned such that during operation the pin 14 clears the outflow 10 and closes the channel 11 and the drain 12, and, when the exchangeable oil filter 3 is loosened from the oil filter adapter 2, the pin 14 is displaced by spring force and clears the outflow 10, the channel 11, and the drain 12.

  • Publication number: 20090071885
Abstract: A filter installation has a pivotably mounted flap (13), a filter head (15) mounted on the flap, a filter cartridge (16) mounted on the filter head. Flexible piping (18,19) is provided for supplying fluid to be filtered to the filter head and removing filtered fluid from the filter head. The flexible piping allows the flap (13) to be pivoted to an access position in which the cartridge is readily accessible for installation or removal. The installation is particularly suitable to be used on a vehicle such as a tractor in which the pivotable flap is the door on a battery box or other compartment of the vehicle. The filter cartridge can be used to filter bio-fuel for an engine of the tractor or to filter hydraulic fluid or transmission fluid.

  • Publication number: 20080296212
Abstract: The invention relates to a centrifuge for the cleaning of a liquid, in particular a lubricant oil of an internal combustion engine. Said centrifuge comprises a housing, at least one bearing element on the housing side and a rotor which is rotatably mounted thereon. The rotor is composed of at least two parts, an inner part for accommodating the bearing and a part for retaining impurities in an impurity collection zone, wherein said part may be detached from the inner part for maintenance of the centrifuge. The centrifuge is characterized in that the/each bearing element is an element composed of a first bearing material and comprises one or more first smooth bearing surfaces. The inner part, embodied as a single piece, is made of a second bearing material and provided with one or more second smooth bearing surfaces. First and second bearing surfaces cooperate directly among each other, and the first and second bearing materials form a pair of smooth bearing materials.

  • Patent number: 7407057
Abstract: A plastic transmission filter (1) composed of mating upper (2) and lower (3) shells of synthetic resin material with at least one set of registering weld posts (10) extending between inner surfaces of the upper and lower shells; a fluid pervious centertube (4) interposed between the mating shells around the weld posts, and a filter material (5) wrapped around the centertube to form a bag filter. The filter assembly can be welded together in a single vibration welding operation and provides enhanced flow of transmission fluid by avoiding flow restrictions caused by prior art reinforcement poles.

  • Publication number: 20080116126
Abstract: A liquid filter for use as an oil filter or a fuel filter, having a filter insert supported on a support tower. The support tower is essentially a cylindrical tube, with passage openings that provide a flowpath from outside the tower to a space inside the tower. A circumferential wiping lip and a circumferential seal are provided on the lower end of the filter insert. When the insert is assembled onto the support tower, the wiping lip first wipes the wall of the tower clean and the seal then seals the lower end of the tower against an unfiltered space. The seal and wiping lip may be combined as a single component.

  • Patent number: 7357865
Abstract: An automatic transmission fluid (ATF) filtration system that combines both coarse filtering mesh and microfine depth filtering elements simultaneously to remove a wide range of particulate matter, but also maintains an unrestricted flow of ATF to the pump to ensure its volumetric efficiency is disclosed. In the present invention ATF at system pressure is delivered via a hydraulic circuit to a microfine depth filtering element for depth filtration (i.e. several layers of filter media) and, thereafter, is passed into the intake of the coarse filter element or, alternatively, between the intake of the coarse filter element and the pump intake. Because ATF flow through the coarse filter element is continuous and independent of the microfine depth filter element, the volumetric efficiency of the pump is maintained in all phases of operation even at the highest demand points such as at cold start-up, hot idle, and high volume/demand situations.

  • Publication number: 20080078709
Abstract: A concrete mixing truck including an engine, a frame supporting the engine, and a power transfer system receiving mechanical power from the engine. The power transfer system includes a housing, a power input shaft, a plurality of power output shafts, a plurality of gears and a power driven filter system. The housing has a lower portion wherein a lubricant pools in a lubricant pool. The power input shaft extends from the housing. The plurality of power output shafts each are driven by the power input shaft. The plurality of gears are associated with the power input shaft, and the plurality of power output shafts. At least one of the gears sling the lubricant from the lubricant pool thereby lubricating the plurality of gears and at least a portion of the shafts. The power driven filter system is fluidly connected to the lubricant pool. The power driven system pumps the lubricant from the lubricant pool through a filter to produce filtered lubricant that is returned to the housing.
