Abstract: A collection tank for mounting in a bed of gravel particles under a floor of a building for collecting ground water from an area under the floor has a tank body including a lower tank portion and an upper tank portion. The lower tank portion defines a container for collected water with an open top. The upper tank portion has an outer wall upstanding from the open top of the lower tank portion, in which the outer wall is perforated with holes for passage of ground water into the tank body. Each of the holes extends radially through the outer wall of the upper tank portion at an upward slope so as to minimize entry of surrounding gravel particles into the tank body through the holes.

Abstract: A regenerative stormwater conveyance (RSC) system for treating and dispersing stormwater runoff is disclosed which includes an upstream entry point where water enters the system and an entry pool downstream from the entry point that collects water from the entry point. The RSC system includes one or more shallow aquatic beds that receive water from the entry pool in a serial manner and each of which includes a filtration structure for filtering water from the aquatic bed. Riffle weir grade control structures are positioned between the aquatic beds and transition water overflowing from each upstream aquatic bed to a downstream aquatic bed. Accordingly, collected stormwater runoff traverses the series of aquatic beds and riffle weir grading structures and is treated and detained, thus, conveying stormwater to groundwater through infiltration.

Abstract: The present invention provides a heat medium circulation structure for a micro-combined heat and power (micro-CHP) generator in which a heat medium that primarily looses heat by undergoing heat exchange with water in a hot-water tank and thus has a low temperature further performs heat exchange with low-temperature direct water supplied through a direct water line, thereby further loosing heat, in a return line heat exchanger, and then returns to a stirling engine through a heat medium return line, thereby effectively cooling a low temperature portion of the stirling engine. Thus, the heat medium circulation structure enables high electricity production efficiency. • Patent number: 9022066
Abstract: The point of the invention is to evenly distribute water or effluent over an irrigation area or a drain field. Typically the fluid comes from a reservoir or a septic tank and is fed, by gravity, into a number of discharge pipes that would be located underground. The device related to this invention is characterized by a container with an inlet at the top and a number of outlets at the bottom. Inside the container the fluid is directed to the center of a flow splitter surface underneath, via a specifically configured spout. To make the fluid spread radian and uniformly towards the surface's perimeter this surface has hydrophilic properties and is convex shaped. The fluid eventually flows uniformly over the surface's edge and is evenly distributed over the outlets at the bottom.

Abstract: In a family of plastic leaching chambers, each having an arch shape cross section and corrugations, there are chambers of different top heights and possibly different widths. Each chamber has a common size of end connector, so chambers within the family, of any size, can be interconnected. Preferably, the height of an end connector is no more than the top height of the smallest chamber in the family. Preferred chambers have one or more hollow pillars extending downwardly within the interior of the chamber; and preferred chambers have peak corrugations which are substantially wider than the intervening valley corrugations.

Abstract: A liquid retention system in accordance with an embodiment of the invention comprises a plurality of pipes having a wall defining a pipe conduit, at least some of the pipes having at least one hole through the wall for allowing liquid to enter the conduit. Each of two sets of pipe groups is arranged into a two layers of the pipes. The pipes in one layer are arranged in adjacent proximity along their lengths such that the walls of adjacent pipes define a plurality of gaps while the pipes in the second layer are at least partially seated in the gaps. The cylindrical axes of the pipes in the two pipe groups relative to one another are non-parallel. The pipe groups are arranged in a liquid retention portion, which is at least partially enclosed to retain liquid therein.

  • Patent number: 8641894
Abstract: A Water and Wastewater Treatment Aerated Mini-Dosing air-lift pump System and filter housing, that replaces the conventional dosing pump, controls and additional Tank. It is adaptable to all access ports and uniquely smaller than a 3? inspection port and is integrally positioned in an existing or new raw water pretreatment or pump tank. It aerates the source pool thereby mitigating: H2SO4 gases, odors and source pool BOD5. The system communicates with an above ground aerator and optional controls and in it's plurality supplies dissolved and free oxygen to the pump, housing, effluent and the source pool, with surge protection and scum mitigation. Mini-metering and, low pressure, extended cycle durations increase the average microbial production balance and microbial Ratio to nutrients BOD. The raw sewage tank no longer requires gas removal prior to inspection due to oxic and anoxic microbial processes that mitigates H2SO4 gases.

Abstract: A sewage reuse system distributes a plurality of reuse water supply sections, each including a water introducing opening formed in a sewer trunk line; a treated sewage tank for storing reuse water; and a water level sensor for measuring a water level of the treated sewage tank, in a demand area of reuse water along the sewer trunk line. The system includes a movable sewage treatment section which moves to any of the plurality of water introducing openings; performs the sewage treatment to generate reuse water; and supplies the generated reuse water to the treated sewage tank, a communication section which transmits the water level data measured by the water level sensor, and a central control section which controls a water storing quantity of the treated sewage tank on the basis of the demand information of reuse water and the water level data.

  • Patent number: 8603332
Abstract: A method includes placing pipe stands to support waste-conveying pipes in a trench in a septic system. The pipe stands are preferably flat bowtie-shaped sheets (preferably polymeric) folded to form stable pipe supports. Holes or notches are formed that align when the sheet is folded, thus providing stable support for a horizontal pipe when the panels' bottom edges rest on the ground. Modified versions include: folding a fold-out foot in the panels for engaging soft soil, forming fold-out dispersing flanges for dispersing waste dropped from the pipe, driving stakes into soft soil for stability, punching-out rings or multiple holes for supporting different sized pipes, stabilizing opposing panels in the sheet to fixedly maintain their spacing, forming a feature for receiving a grounded wire stake, and/or providing a bias from the living hinge of the fold line causing frictional gripping of the pipe. Many versions can be used in different orientations.

Abstract: Described herein are devices and techniques for spray drying a fluid to produce a dried powder. Assemblies include a spray drying head attachable to a gas supplier and a liquid sample, such as a standard unit of blood product. The spray drying head can be adapted to provide an aerosolized flow of liquid sample exposed to a drying gas. The assembly also includes a drying chamber adapted to separate the aerosolized flow of liquid sample into a dried powder and humid air. The assembly can be disposable, provided in a sterilized kit and having simplified attachments allowing quick connect and disconnect from the gas and liquid sample. Separation of the powder from the humid air exiting the drying chamber occurs within a filtered collection bag. In some embodiments, one or more of the drying chamber and collection bag are formed form a thin-walled, collapsible material.
