  • Patent number: 10188409
Abstract: An aspiration thrombectomy catheter system includes an aspirator and an aspiration catheter for insertion in a blood vessel. The catheter has a shaft with a proximal end for connection with the aspirator and a tapering distal end with a tip for insertion in the vessel. A plurality of aspiration ports are arranged in sets along the tapering distal end, for aspirating thrombus from the vessel. At least one aspiration lumens within the shaft conducts thrombus from the vessel, through the aspiration ports, to the aspirator. Variably sized or shaped ports provide differing aspiration vectors for enhanced thrombus removal. The aspiration thrombectomy catheter additionally provides for uniform drug dispersion at a thrombotic area, alone or in combination with aspiration of the thrombus. In the event of an adverse reaction, drug dosage may be easily reduced by aspirating dispersed drugs back into the catheter.

  • Patent number: 8123939
Abstract: A collection process for precipitated powder substance is mainly for storing toxic or highly radioactive powder or dust in air and involves collection operation in water or other liquid to collect powder insoluble to the liquid and heavier than the liquid. To be suitable for underwater operation, a powder precipitation bag is provided with an innovative powder collection can at its bottom. New powder collection can has a mesh filter in its bottom and two-stage structure. After completion of powder collection, the collection can is pulled up from the water and dried to reduce powder volume and form powder lumps. Then, the top half is removed, so the collection can is fully filled with powder lumps. The newly designed powder can increases storage efficiency and reduces waste of space by accommodating more powder lumps than traditional powder can. With the same total amount of powder, the new powder can enables fewer number of storage cans.

The storage conveyor is brought sternward so that there is clearance for the proximal end of the forward conveyor to be raised or lowered, and then is brought back forward so that the storage conveyor is in position to receive debris or to discharge it. Auxiliary floats at the sides of the boat hull provide additional buoyant support for the front conveyor, and are detachable so they can be removed for road transport of the boat.

  • Patent number: 6887374
Abstract: A collapsible water treatment digester includes a flexible bladder, a frame, and a plurality of filter plates. The flexible bladder is movable from a collapsed position wherein the bladder is folded into a substantially flattened state to an expanded position wherein the bladder forms a water treatment chamber. The frame is connected to the bladder so as to support the bladder in the expanded position. The filter plates are disposed within the water treatment chamber of the bladder so as to cause a substantial portion of the solids from a wastewater stream introduced into the water treatment chamber to produce a reconditioned water stream dischargeable from the bladder.

  • Patent number: 6277277
Abstract: A dialyzing machine is provided with a cartridge holder to which a filter cartridge (11) or a dialyzer cartridge can be fastened. The cartridge holder (25) comprises a holding element (35) retaining the cartridge (11) and a clamping element (36) which is movable relatively to the holding element and radially to the inserted cartridge. The clamping element can be moved from an open position into a closed position. It comprises two connecting members (41,42) cooperating with the lateral connecting studs (26,27) of the cartridge, the connecting members (41,42) sealingly engaging with the two connecting studs (26,27) of the cartridge when the clamping element (36) is moved into the closed position. In this way a connection with the two connecting studs of the cartridge is produced by simply attaching the cartridge to the cartridge holder. It is no longer necessary to individually connect hoses to the connecting studs.

  • Patent number: 5951855
Abstract: A filter and hydraulic mixing assembly for a water treatment system. The assembly includes two circulation tubes disposed alongside a center tube. During a backwash cycle fluid is conveyed through the center tube to a housing member where it is discharged immediately below the open bottom ends of the two circulation tubes thereby conveying media from the surrounding tank upwards through the circulation tubes. A cap member is fitted over the upper ends of the circulation tubes within the tank and direct the media being discharged from the circulation tubes into a downward spiraling helical flow pattern which provides enhanced agitation and lifting of the media bed. Discrete filter segments are selectively attachable to the housing member and interchanging the discrete filter segments permits the total filter slot area of the assembly to be adjusted and also permits the filter slot size to be altered. The filter segments are color coded, with each separate filter size having a different corresponding color.

  • Patent number: 5769815
Abstract: A plastic blood chamber comprises a chamber-defining wall having a first blood inlet port adjacent to the end of the chamber and a blood outlet port adjacent typically the opposed end of the chamber. The inlet port is positioned in separate, lateral relation with the chamber, and has a conduit extending longitudinally of the chamber from the inlet port toward a central chamber portion in such separate, lateral relation to the chamber. The conduit curves into communication with the chamber in a transverse direction at an inlet position in the central chamber portion. A second portion of the chamber which is laterally opposed to the inlet position of the conduit defines a sloping shoulder to turn lateral blood flow from the conduit gently upwardly to define a gentle, circulatory flow of blood in an upper portion of the chamber. The chamber upper portion has a wall that carries projections to create blood flow eddys that slow the upward motion of bubbles present.
