Gyratory Mounting Above Filter Patents (Class 210/366)
  • Patent number: 6540914
Abstract: A fluid filter which comprises a canister having an open end and a closed end, the canister sealing to an adapter body to prevent leakage between the canister and the adapter body, the adapter body having a plurality of fluid inlet ports extending through the adapter assembly body into the cavity formed by the canister and the adapter body assembly, a threaded fluid outlet port extending through the adapter body, a threaded ring adapter for adapting the outlet port to a variety of connection configurations, a multistage wire mesh filter element having a weave which is designed to prevent fluid contaminants from passing through the filter element while inhibiting the contaminant particles from becoming lodged in the filter mesh, the fluid inlet ports in the adapter body being formed at an angle to create a tornado type turbine fluid motion within the canister to suspend contaminants which are blocked from passage through the screen in the fluid and allow such contaminants to settle in the canister out of the f

  • Patent number: 5655390
Abstract: A device for treating a preferably cellulose containing suspension, comprising a housing (110) on a stand (112), characterized in that it comprises an injection chamber (132) limited by two disc-shaped wall members (134) arranged so as to rotate about a center of rotation (C') common to the axle, in that at least one inlet opening (130) is disposed in the inner part of the chamber (132) for the suspension to be treated, in that outlets (167) for the treated suspension are disposed in an outer part (166) (the acceptance space) of the injection chamber (132), in that extraction chambers (170) are disposed outside the wall members (134) of the injection chamber (132), in that openings (164) for filtrate are disposed between the injection chamber (132) and the extraction chamber (170) within at least one annular zone of the radial extent of the wall members (134), in that outlets (130) for filtrate are arranged from the extraction chambers, and in that the size of the injection chamber is variable.

  • Patent number: 4919158
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for washing pulp according to which method the pulp is supplied onto a movable liquid-pervious support surface (2) to form a substantially continuous layer (7); and washing liquid is supplied to the pulp layer and passed in several successive washing phases through different areas of the layer in such a way that the washing liquid gradually flows in the opposite direction compared with the flow direction of the pulp layer. According to the invention the washing liquid is divided in two or more partial flows which pass alternately through different washing phases in such a way that the washing liquid which in one phase has passed through the pulp layer flows past at least the washing phase preceding it in the flow direction of the pulp layer. The apparatus of the invention preferably comprises a rotating cylinder (1) the casting surface (2) of which serves as the liquid-pervious support surface for the pulp.

  • Patent number: 4859333
Abstract: A continuous blood centrifugation cell includes a bell shaped outer container rotatable about a central axis, a coaxial inner volume displacement body which has a central longitudinal passage, and a circularly shaped partition which has a central aperture and which is coaxially enclosed between the body and the bottom of the container. A stationary housing is connected to and encloses the upper end of the container and has a coaxial inner conduit, a coaxial intermediate conduit, and a coaxial outer conduit. The housing has a stationary passage near the upper end of the container and is in communication with the lower end of the outer conduit for the removal of the lighter fraction blood components from the container. The intermediate conduit extends downwardly into the central passage of the body and has the lower end thereof closely spaced from the partition for the inlet of blood into the container.

  • Patent number: 3997447
Abstract: Described are fluid processing devices primarily intended for filtration but which devices may also be used for dispensing or sparging liquids and gases into a body of fluid medium. According to the method of using the disclosed devices, fluid medium to be filtered is caused to flow over the active filtering surfaces of a filter medium, such as by rotating the filter element in the fluid medium, while the fluid medium is simultaneously caused to pass through the filter element. At predetermined intervals the fluid medium flow through the filter is reversed or backpulsed. Also disclosed are porous elements of laminated structure in propeller or disc configurations which may be coated with microporous active surfaces to permit filtration of extremely small sized particles from a fluid medium or dispensing of extremely small sized bubbles of gas or droplets of liquid into a body of fluid medium.
