Combining Or Dividing Flow Passages With Filter In Combined Passage Patents (Class 210/428)
  • Patent number: 9023203
Abstract: A liquid filter including a filter housing, a ring filter insert and a cover. The housing bottom contains an outlet for emptying the housing when the filter insert is removed. The filter insert includes a filter material body surrounded by front panels. A blocking element for the outlet is arranged on one front panel, and positioning elements are provided on the filter insert and on the housing. The positioning elements include an inclined plane and an engaging radially protruding nose. The inclined plane is arranged on one and the nose is arranged on the other of the filter housing part and the ring filter insert. When the ring filter insert is rotated relative to the filter housing, the inclined plane and the nose are moved in relation to each other such that they slide along each other and engage the blocking element with the outlet.

  • Patent number: 6833066
Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid filter, for example an oil filter for cleaning lubricating oil, especially for use in internal combustion engines of motor vehicles. A ring-shaped filter insert separates an unclean side from a clean side in the interior of the liquid filter. A metal filter housing comprises a first flange with which the liquid filter can be screwed to a component via a screw connection, said component having an inlet for uncleaned liquid, an outlet for cleaned liquid and a relatively pressureless idle duct. The first flange contains an axially acting outer seal that includes inlet, outlet and idle duct, and a carrier receiving compartment encircled by the outer seal.

  • Patent number: 6811694
Abstract: A liquid filter for removing contaminants from liquids such as lubricating oil, water or fuel, comprising a filter housing (10), a filter element (15), a support body (16) and a slide valve (17), which, when closed, prevents liquid from flowing from an unfiltered liquid area or from a filtered liquid area to a filter outlet (24). When the filter housing is opened, the slide valve moves axially and opens the filter outlet (24) so that the filter housing can empty. The slide valve (17) is detachably snapped together with the support body (16), which in turn is connected to a housing cover (12). This enables the slide valve to be detached from the support body, and reduces the level of maintenance required by the liquid filter.

  • Patent number: 6790356
Abstract: An oil filter assembly comprising: an oil filter housing defining an oil filter chamber adapted to receive an oil filter element, the oil filter housing also defining a port; and a valve assembly received within the port, the valve assembly having a closed position and an open position for draining the chamber of oil associated with the oil filter element, the valve assembly comprising a spring, a valve and a casing disposed about the spring and the plunger. The casing may include a substantially annular lip retaining the valve in engagement with the casing. The casing defines a casing chamber and the lip retaining a collar of the valve within the casing chamber. The lip also may define a hole for receiving the stem or, in accordance with an alternative embodiment, for receiving a post or the like associated with the oil filter element. A method is also provided of producing an oil filter assembly having a housing defining an oil filter chamber adapted to receive an oil filter element.

Abstract: A filter system especially useful in the treatment of waste material, in particular liquid waste material which may include particulate matter therein. The filter system includes a series of filters of progressively finer porosity in order to selectively eliminate particulate (or semi-particulate) matters from a carrier material, typically but not exclusively, of a fluid or liquid nature. The filters are mounted within a housing which includes an outlet port and a plurality of inlet ports, wherein each inlet port includes a check valve.

  • Patent number: 6527947
Abstract: A fuel control device 220 includes a restriction 294 and a check valve 292 disposed between a fuel return conduit 236 and a fuel injection supply conduit 227. In operation, fuel from tank 202 flows into the control device via conduit 208 is filtered through filter 222 flowing to an injection pump 230 outlet conduit 228. Excess fuel is returned to the control device and is then directed either back to the tank 202 via conduit 234 or is mixed with incoming fuel via conduit 235 and a two-position temperature responsive diverter valve 290. The restriction and check valve provide the benefit of allowing a continuous air bleed to purge any incoming air or vapor from the fuel supply system back to the fuel tank 202, while preventing unfiltered fuel flow from the fuel return outlet port to the filtered fuel outlet port.

  • Patent number: 6517710
Abstract: An assembly for an internal combustion engine comprising an oil filter in a first housing structure 11 and, for instance, an oil separator in a second housing structure 12. The two housing structures can be combined to form a modular assembly. The assembly includes duct structures 20, 21 which are combined to form a common line segment 22 to reduce the material and manufacturing costs for the assembly. The different duct structures may include, for example, an oil drain 20 for the oil filter, which simplifies service (changing the filter element). The duct structure of the second housing structure can serve, for example, to transport crankcase gases to an oil separator in the second housing structure or to return separated oil from the oil separator to an engine crankcase. The oil drain of the oil filter housing may be combined with the drain the oil from the oil pan of the internal combustion engine, and the two drains may optionally be closed by a single drain plug.

  • Patent number: 6235210
Abstract: The present invention provides a combination continuous and batch filtration system for a recirculating fryer where the continuous filter and batch filter assemblies are integrated into a single unit, utilizing a common pump. This unit is substantially compact and is therefore able to fit within the frame of most recirculating fryers. The outlets of the continuous filter and the batch filter are connected to a two-way valve, which is, in turn, connected to the inlet of the common pump. The valve allows an operator to selectively pump cooking fluid from either the continuous filter or the batch filter back into the fryer vat.
