Knockdown Or Foldable Patents (Class 211/118)
  • Patent number: 5727699
Abstract: A spool holder for storing and dispensing ribbon and other material contained on spools. The spool holder comprises a vertical rod having a hook adjacent its upper portion for hanging on a rod in a closet or other storage area. A pedestal is adjacent the lower portion of the vertical rod to support the spools on the spool holder. Holding members are adjacent the upper portion of the vertical rod below the hook. These holding members can store and provide easy accessibility of supplies used with the spooled material, for example, tape, scissors, bows and glue. A cooperative fastening means removably couples the upper portion and the lower portion of the vertical rod. In the uncoupled configuration, the spools of ribbon can be received onto or removed from the vertical rod. When coupled, the pedestal of the lower portion of the vertical rod supports the spools on the vertical rod.

  • Patent number: 5695079
Abstract: A device for hanging a workpiece such as a bicycle is described. The device includes a hanger assembly having a roll pin, a neck, and a hook that is received by a lug attached to some part of the wire deck and preferably to a joist. The hanger assembly is pivotally received by the lug. The lug having a face placed away from the joist receives the hanger assembly about the roll pin. A biasing member such as a spring is placed to bias the neck toward the face of the lug. The face of the lug is provided with detents which lock the hanger assembly in a raised or lowered position. In a lowered position, a workpiece such as a bicycle can be placed on the hook. When boxes are placed below the hook, the hook can be rotated to a raised position out of the way.

  • Patent number: 5695073
Abstract: A hanging shoe rack for supporting shoes in an angular manner. A pair of side frame members having an elongate body section. A plurality of support arms project outwardly and downwardly from each main body section. Pairs of retaining bars are positioned between said frame members and are aligned in a plane forming an acute angle with respect to vertical, to thereby support thereon shoes in an angular manner, with the shoes directed downwardly toward a vertical surface upon which the shoe rack is placed. The support arms, upon opposite side frames, traverse side sections of the shoes to form a barrier against lateral movement of the shoes. Unique socket structure, into which the retaining bars are positioned, permit easy assembly of the shoe rack. Additionally, each side frame member includes unique attachment structure, upon upper and lower ends thereof, so that multiple shoe racks of the present invention may be vertically suspended one from another.

  • Patent number: 5664687
Abstract: A retractable bicycle rack is described having a movable portion and a fixed portion. The fixed portion is attached to an overhead member such as those found in an automobile garage. The movable portion, when moved from the horizontal position to the vertical position activates compression springs attached between the movable portion and the fixed portion tithe frame. The springs have an over-center position when the rack is placed in the full vertical position which holds the rack in a vertical position. When the bicycle or bicycles are placed on the movable portion of the rack, the spring force in the compression spring moves the rack from the vertical position to the horizontal position. A draper controls the movement from the vertical position to the horizontal position. The preferred embodiment is desired for two bicycles, however, if more than two bicycles are desired, the compression spring may adjusted to provide a stronger compression force.

A first article holding rack has a pair of vertical arms each with a guide at the top, these guides being shaped, dimensioned and spaced to enter two adjacent ones of the cut-out portions. A second article holding rack has a pair of vertical arms each with a guide at the top, these guides being shaped, dimensioned and spaced to enter two non-adjacent ones of the cut-out portions.

  • Patent number: 4773348
Abstract: A collapsible boat fender holder is disclosed. The boat fender holder has two configurations, one for shipping or storage and the other for use in holding a boat fender. The holder is formed entirely of plastic members which are held together, preferably, with non-corrosive fasteners. The holder for each fender includes a frame member with two parallel legs and an arcuate section joining them. A pair of rings encircle each boat fender and are pivotably mounted at diametrically opposite locations to the legs of the frame member. Four links, two connected with each leg of the frame members, connect the two frame members to each other. The links and legs together define two parallelograms. When in the operative condition, the links and legs are essentially mutually perpendicular and the rings are perpendicular to the axis of the legs so that a boat fender may be inserted through the rings to rest on the bottom arcuate section of the frame member.

  • Patent number: 4770303
Abstract: A demountable stand for supporting hanging plants comprises an elongated cylindrical center post having a plurality of sets of circumferentially disposed support arms which extend radially outward therefrom to receive and support hanging plants. The support arms are square bar stock formed into an ornamental configuration. A plurality of sets of circumferentially spaced vertically disposed rectangular connectors having vertically extended square openings are attached circumferentially on the post at various locations along its length to slidably receive one end of the support arms. A bottom set of connectors and leg members provide a base for supporting the assembly in an upright position. Alternatively, straight support arms which extend perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the post may be employed to support one or more horizontal support members for supporting additional potted plants or to provide a table.

Abstract: A doll pole for suspending stuffed dolls has a pair of stiffening and filler rods made from resilient foam plastic that are coaxially aligned and housed in a hollow tube made from sheet material. The rods are slidable within the tube and have a combined length which is less than the length of the tube so that the tube may be folded at its midsection for ease of transport and storage. Ribbons are spaced along the length of the tube for tying the stuffed dolls to the pole.

Abstract: A portable clothes hanger rack is disclosed. A yoke has a hook at one end and a pair of pivotable arms mounted on the other end. The hook is used to suspend the device while the arms hold a plurality of hangers. The hangers are modified with a sphere replacing the conventional hanger hook. The arms have a removable end and the top, bottom and side wall form an enclosed elongated parallelpiped. The arm bottom wall has an elongated slot and the hangers extend down through the slot with the sphere retained inside the arm. The arms may be folded into a vertically parallel coextensive position for compact storage of the device in a suitcase.

Abstract: A first and second arm pivotally connected together at first ends for pivoting from an extended to a retracted position. Upwardly extending extensions are connected to the first ends and are connected to a resilient loop for resiliently holding the arms in the extended position but allowing the arms to be retracted downwardly. A supporting hook is connected to a pivot and provides a stop limiting the extended motion of the arms and also prevents the loop from moving past dead center of the pivot means.

  • Patent number: 4704969
Abstract: The present invention refers to a transport apparatus in particular for internal, suspension transport systems of the type including a runner rail system and roller sets having rollers interconnected by a depending member. The apparatus has rail-shaped carrier members for supporting, in a suspended condition, transport material on a carrier member support surface. The carrier members are releasably suspendable at both ends from the roller sets, via suspension rods connected to the carrier members at transversely extending pivot axles, and the roller sets rest on the runner rail system. The pivot axles are perpendicularly displaced relative to the longitudinal axis of the carrier member to such an extent that the suspension rods can be folded into contact with a carrier member support surface by pivoting 90.degree.. Clamping grooves are provided on the pivot axles to secure the folded suspension rods. The carrier members include troughs to receive hooks of additional carriers, and toothed racks.
