Publication number: 20040173550Abstract: An over the door hook has a U-shaped bracket with at least one curved hook sized to receive a hook segment. Two or more plastic hook segments have an opening at an upper end and a curved hook at the lower end. The curved hook of one segment fits through the opening in another hook segment. The two segments are locked together by a tab or tooth in one segment that fits into a slot or recess in a second segment. An alternative is to provide a boss adjacent the opening at the upper end of one segment that is gripped by the curved hook of the second segment. Similar locking arrangements can be provided to lock a hook segment to the U-shaped bracket.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2003Publication date: September 9, 2004Inventor: William E. Adams

Patent number: 6722511Abstract: Mountable hanger apparatus (10) and a kit of parts (71) therefore for affixing preferably to door hinges. The hanger apparatus comprises an elongated member (11) having top (13), intermediate (14, 36), and bottom end member segments (15), all of which are longitudinally interconnectable along the longitudinal axis (12) of the elongated member. The elongated member also includes top (42), intermediate (46), and bottom (45) connectors for longitudinally interconnecting the member segments along the member axis. Radially extending support arms (39-41) each connect to a connector so as to rotate about the member axis independent of each other. Top and bottom mounting brackets (16, 24) each slideably receives and connects to a corresponding member segment and also to, for example, a door hinge. The mounting brackets slide along the member segments for adjusting the distance therebetween to fit any door hinge spacing.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2002Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Inventor: Richard B. Patent number: 6712228Abstract: Mountable hanger apparatus and a kit of parts therefore for affixing preferably to door hinges. The hanger apparatus comprises an elongated member having top, intermediate, and bottom segments, all of which are longitudinally interconnectable along the axis of the elongated member. Each intermediate segment has end portions each directly interconnectable both rotatably and longitudinally with an end portion of a remaining segment. Preferably, each segment includes a tubular member having a passageway extending therethrough. All but the bottom end segment has one end portion swaged to a reduced diameter for insertion into an unswaged end portion of another tubular member. Resultantly, each intermediate segment can swivel or rotate independent of the top and bottom end segments. Support arms are fixedly attachable to each of the segments of the elongated member, and mounting brackets are fixedly attachable to the top and bottom end segments.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2002Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Inventor: Richard B. Publication number: 20040007549Abstract: A wire basket useful in an over-the-door storage rack or a wall mounted application has wire front and side panels and criss-crossing wires forming a bottom. The wires in the front and side panels lie in vertical planes but are inclined from vertical within those planes to enable the baskets to nest for compact packaging. A short back panel occupies a vertical plane and is formed by inclined wires to accommodate nesting. The basket can be used with like baskets hung on frames mounted on a door to readily store thin, flat articles due to the vertical wall panels.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2002Publication date: January 15, 2004Inventors: Richard B.
