Similar Planar Frames Pivotally Joined Inwardly Of Their Edges (e.g, Crossed Frames, Etc.) Patents (Class 211/200)
  • Patent number: 4212400
Abstract: A stand, particularly for holding utensils to be dried has two plate-like members pivotally connected with one another in a scissor-like manner and pivotable about an axis between an open position so as to assume a rack shape and a closed position. Each of the members has an upper portion located above the axis and adapted in the open position to support utensils to be dried, and a lower portion located below the axis and adapted to support the stand in at least the open position. The lower portion of each of the members has a lower end region, a supporting section extending from the lower end region toward the axis and adapted to support utensils to be dried, and a holding section extending from the supporting section in the lower end region at an angle relative to the supporting section so as to prevent utensils supported by the supporting section from sliding off the latter.

  • Patent number: 4131205
Abstract: The novel rack has a first pair of generally inverted U-shaped rigid members so arranged that one member has its legs disposed within and pivotally joined to the corresponding legs of the other near the mid-points thereof. A second pair of generally inverted U-shaped rigid members substantially identical to the first pair and disposed and pivotally joined to one another in a manner substantially identical to the first pair is positioned atop the first pair. The free ends of the legs of the second pair are pivotally connected to the legs of the first pair where the legs of the first pair join the bights. Rigid bracing means are provided which releasably interconnect the two members of said first pair and releasably lock it into non-collapsed condition. Plastic cord means are threaded into the bracing means and the rigid members to allow articles such as drying clothes, to be supported therefrom when the rack is in its non-collapsed condition.

  • Patent number: 4117936
Abstract: A self-clamping wire rack is provided for magazines, cards, napkins, letters, and the like; the rack being formed in its basic configuration of a first wire rod which is bent to constitute the rear side of the rack and also to constitute a pair of rearwardly extending legs; and of a second wire rod bent to constitute the front side of the rack and also constitute a pair of forwardly extending legs; the two components of the rack being hinged to one another in a manner such that when the assembly is placed on a horizontal surface, the front and rear sides are turned angularly towards one another to exert a clamping force on the magazines, cards, or other articles supported on the rack between the front and rear sides of the rack, so as to maintain such articles in the rack.

  • Patent number: 4008670
Abstract: A foldable sample display table having a square top and two substantially flat, similar, upright crossed frame sections whereon the top is placed. The top is removable and the frame sections are pivoted about the upright central axis of the frame table where they cross each other at right angles. For storage or shipment, these sections are folded against each other to a flat structure. Each frame section is formed of rods in an opposing, symmetrical arrangement as opposing wing portions below the table top, a common neck portion below the wings and opposing pedestal below the neck portions. Each rod includes a top portion of the wing which fits into a groove at the underside of the table top and these top portions of the rods hold the table top in place. Each wing includes a vertical arm depending from the underside of the table top near the edge to carry an array of display samples, such as rug samples, mounted on the arms as by hooks.

  • Patent number: 3994400
Abstract: A bicycle display rack including a pair of generally horizontal frame members mounted on legs in spaced parallel relation above the ground to support a bicycle in an upwardly inclined position with one wheel resting crosswise of the frame members and having wheel engaging units at spaced locations along the frame members for engaging relatively opposite sides of a bicycle wheel resting on the frame members to laterally stabilize the bicycle. The rack is arranged so that bicycles can be mounted on the rack from or both sides of the rack.
