Patent number: 5190166Abstract: A support or separation, especially a book-end consists of a resilient element (1) and a support element (2). The support or the separation achieves its function by, that the branch (5) of the resilient element, which engages the underside of the shelf and the upper branch (3), which the support element slides upon, is wedge shape, thereby one can adapt the support or separation to the thickness of the shelf by displacing the support element on the resilient element. Hereby is obtained a surface pressure between the parts, which results in, that the support is self-locking, and hereby is the function of the support or the separation obtained. The two holes in the support element are placed so, that by turning the support element upside down variations in adaption to the doubled thickness of the shelf can be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1991Date of Patent: March 2, 1993Inventor: Niels Vilsboll

Patent number: 5183163Abstract: A novel adjustable holder and support device for books, files, recorded music discs and the like comprised of two upright end units each with a longitudinal leg that extends under the materials being contained. In addition, an optional flat extender may be positioned between the two end units singly or in plurality. Said units in combination, hold the contained materials on an even plane above the surface upon which the holder rests, one unit leg having a female opening to receive the second unit's male-tongue leg. The two base legs interlock, when positioned, by means of a plurality of indexed shapes along the outside edge of the male unit tongue and the facing edges of the female unit's opening. This engagement thus allows for easy adjustability while insuring that the space allotted for containment is fixed against change while in use.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1992Date of Patent: February 2, 1993Inventor: Stephen J. Patent number: 5161702Abstract: A display device having a front cartridge section against which objects can be stacked, one against the other, in a first line; first and second strips each wound about itself to define first and second coils with first and second axes; structure for connecting the strips to the front cartridge section so that the axes of the coils are transverse to the first line; and a rear cartridge section having first and second legs which are extendable at least partially through the first and second coils. By moving the rear cartridge section away from the front cartridge section in the first line with the first and second legs extended into the first and second coils, the legs cause the first and second coils to unwind, whereby a force is developed on the first and second strips tending to draw the front and rear cartridge sections towards each other so that an article to be displayed can be resiliently captured in a display position between the front and rear cartridge sections.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1991Date of Patent: November 10, 1992Assignee: Thomas A. Patent number: 5161762Abstract: A cargo clamp for a van, the van having cargo space defined by a floor, upwardly extending sidewalls and a roof. The cargo clamp comprises a transverse track that extends between the sidewalls below the roof and is supported below the roof and is held in place by side rails on each side. A clamp is attached to the track and is movable along the side rails between the sidewalls. The clamp also includes a downwardly extending brace that engages and restrains sheet material that is positioned on edge in the cargo space. The clamp includes a handle and bolt for engagement in a threaded hole for securing the clamp to the track at a selected position.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1991Date of Patent: November 10, 1992Inventors: Peter V. Patent number: 5117984Abstract: This invention discloses an adjustable CD storage rack to hold a plurality of CDs such that a side edge and front face of the CDs are normally observable, with the storage rack formed by a pair of spaced end supports movable on rods with respect to each other to adjust the storage size of said rack. The rods slide through aligned apertures in the side edges to slidably yet fixably be set at any location along said rods. The rods form the support structure on which the CDs rest, preferably side-by-side.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1991Date of Patent: June 2, 1992Assignee: Dreadnought Industries Inc.Inventor: Timothy J. Patent number: 5103987Abstract: A bookend is disclosed for a bookshelf having top and bottom surfaces and a forward edge, which top surface supports a row of books in an upright condition with the bound edges of the books facing forwardly. The bookend includes a shelf engaging section having a first engagement portion for engaging the top surface of the bookshelf adjacent to the row of books, a second engagement portion for engaging the bottom surface of the bookshelf underneath the row of books and a first intermediate portion that extends across the forward edge of the bookshelf for interconnecting the first and second engagement portions. There is a bookstop section attached to and extending upwardly from shelf engaging section for engaging the book at the end of the row of books.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1991Date of Patent: April 14, 1992Inventor: John C. Patent number: 5036988Abstract: A bookend for use on a metal shelf is formed by bending from a single sheet of metal to form an upstanding plate and flat tongue so that the tongue can lie on the metal shelf with the plate upstanding. The tongue includes an extension portion extending to the opposed side of the plate relative to the main part of the tongue with an upstanding handle on the end of the extension portion. The underside of the tongue carries a layer of resilient felt surrounding an elongate central magnetic strip which extends substantially along the full length of the tongue. The magnetic is sufficient to provide additional friction between the bookend and the shelf to prevent toppling under the weight of the book.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1990Date of Patent: August 6, 1991Inventor: Michel Rouire
