Abstract: A storage receptacle can include a storage bin and a pedal mounted to the receptacle. The pedal can rotate downward when pressure is applied in order to pull on a first cable coupled to the pedal. The first cable is connected to a spring, and the spring is connected to a second cable. The second cable connects the spring to a door via an upper pulley of the receptacle. The second cable causes the door to open when the second cable is pulled based on force applied to the pedal. A bottom pulley can be coupled to the pedal via the first cable and configured to translate an upward pull of the first cable to a downward pull of the spring and second cable. The spring controls the motion of the door such that the door does not open too quickly upon a force being applied to the pedal.

Abstract: A device and method for docking a vial with a container adapter is disclosed. An adapter may be used to establish fluid communication between the vial and a container. The adapter may be positioned within an aperture in a platform of the device. A notch may be placed adjacent to the first aperture so that the vial and adapter may be removed horizontally from the device. A cavity may be positioned below the first aperture to accept at least a portion of a container which may be in fluid communication with the adapter. The platform may be removable, contain multiple apertures, or may be configured to receive various adapter types.

Abstract: A bottle holder that automatically seals a bottle opening when the bottle holder is placed for storage. The bottle may rest within a recess of the holder base, and the nozzle of the bottle is held in place by a nozzle catch that is conically shaped and has an inner cup that tapers to a terminal point so that a nozzle that it placed within will be sealed by the inner wall of the cup. The nozzle catch is spring loaded and presses down against the bottle to hold it in place and maintain a seal on the nozzle. A bottle may be placed in the holder by positioning a nozzle in the nozzle catch on the upper side of the holder and pushing upwards and inwards, which causes the spring to compress and allows the bottle bottom to pass over the base and into the recess.

Abstract: A coffee pod storage device to hold a pod of beverage may include a base to support the pod holder, a spacer to connect to the base, a disk to rotate with respect to the spacer, and a pad chair connected to the disk to pivot as the disk is rotated and to hold a beverage pod.

Abstract: A dental implant organizer case includes a housing with a plurality of compartments selectively arranged therein. Each compartment includes: a respective lid pivotally mounted to the housing to cover the compartment's cavity when closed; means for biasing the lid from the closed to the open position; means to releasably secure the lid in the closed position; means to releasably support dental implant containers within the compartment, in an upright position; and a respective tooth number marking to indicate the tooth intended for the implant containers therein. The selectively arranged compartments may form a semi-circular or an in-line arrangement. Two compartment levels may be utilized, with the lower compartments being accessible using a tray being slidable with respect to the housing. Two cases may be secured together to be pivotable between collapsed and extended positions, where the first and second cases store dental implant containers for left-hand and right-hand teeth, respectively.

Abstract: Systems and methods for installing a compressed natural gas housing apparatus to a vehicle are disclosed. The housing apparatus is configured to be retrofitted to existing cab liners used on refuse vehicles. The complete installation of the housing apparatus and roof liner are disposed below the roofline of the refuse vehicle. The housing apparatus can be configured to contain a variable number of compressed natural gas tanks. The housing apparatus is installed such that the length of the gas pipeline and electrical wiring connected to the apparatus from the vehicle engine and controller is minimized. The location of housing apparatus provides the additional safety of minimizing the exposure of the gas tanks to falling debris or prevent possible contact with the compressed natural gas tanks being damaged as vehicle travels under bridges, other low objects, or contact in the event of a rollover accident.

Abstract: A container system for organizing items that makes use of wasted space in or around cabinets, for use in organizing items such as spices or items used in construction and repair. The system comprises a substantially linear holder with apertures, containers that fit into the apertures, and caps that close the containers and stop the containers from going all the way through the apertures. The holder provides removable access of containers. The containers may be labeled for easy identification and organization. The holder may have a cover with hinges and a latch. The system may be sold as a kit. The kit may be designed to match the cabinet it will be installed on. The apparatus, kit, and methods of installation and use are disclosed.

Abstract: There is disclosed a closure mechanism for two reagent bottles in a bottle holder of an analyzer, using a shutter that slideably and frictionally engages the top surface of grommets at the mouth of the bottles. The shutter slides to either an open or closed position of the bottles, either both in lock-step or with one bottle open, the other closed, and both closed together. The shutter is driven by a cam and cam followers, either rotationally or linearly.

Abstract: A microtitration system comprises a plurality of well and a frame-like holder with apertures for receiving the wells. Each well has a bottom wall and a side wall extending upwardly therefrom so as to define an upper open end, and a depression or groove is formed in an outer surface of the well side wall at a position spaced from the bottom wall. Each aperture of the holder is at least partly defined by a resilient aperture defining means, which is adapted to enter into locking engagement with the depression or groove of a well received in the aperture. The dimensions and the shape of each aperture are such that when a well is inserted into the aperture, the aperture defining means is engaging with the outer surface of the well side wall and is pressed radially outwardly in relation to a central axis of the well till the aperture defining means may snap into locking engagement with the depression or groove formed in the side wall of the well.

Abstract: A tray is described for storing and transporting a module. The tray includes a slot which can be used to hold the module in an upright position to allow the module to be filled with water.

Abstract: A test tube rack for both group stamping and thereafter holding reagent tubes in test position. The rack includes end supports and an intermediate test tube grid and is operable in alternate horizontal position for the stamping operations and in a vertical position for the test operation. Control bars with means for holding specimen tubes may also operate to hold the reagent tubes in position. The control bars also operate in open and closed positions.

Abstract: An electric egg cooker is converted to a baby bottle sterilizer by mounting an insert thereon formed with seats for the baby bottles and nipples. A hood, which can be fitted over this insert, has a height sufficient to accommodate the baby bottles.

Abstract: A system for the packaging, shipment, storage, and reconstitution of dry pharmaceuticals includes a flexible bag manufactured from two layers of plastic laminated film and a rigid port-forming member. In the system, the package is used for shipment and storage of dry pharmaceuticals and for their reconstitution in a liquid solution and their intravenous administration. A plurality of such packages may be handled as an assembly by flexible plastic strips both during processing and packaging and during the reconstitution of the dry medicine as a liquid solution. The flexible plastic strips are formed with a plurality of cavities. Each cavity of the strip has a plurality of sites located in its central portion and adapted to engage and retain the port-forming member and to protect its opening from contamination. A plurality of such package assemblies can be enclosed within an outer protective bag to provide protection against moisture and the effects of the environment during shipment and storage.

Abstract: A pill dispensing assembly for conveniently supporting a plurality of pill containers for easy access, with indicia provided to indicate when the last pill was taken, or the next pill is to be taken. A plate has a number of apertures therein corresponding to the number of pill containers desirably to be supported by the assembly. The pill containers extend through the plate apertures generally downwardly, and a pivoted cover is provided for covering all of the pill containers at the same time. The indicator is mounted above the plate and is manually advanceable, and preferably a cup member is provided below the plate for containing the lids from the pill container supported by the plate. The entire assembly is preferably supported on a wall bracket.

Abstract: A lightweight case for carrying bottles comprises a rack member having bottom and apertured side faces of a rigid but flexible plastic for engaging the bottom and side portion of each of a plurality of bottles. The case also includes a clip for gripping the top edges of the side faces and drawing the top portions of the side faces against the shoulders of the bottles, thereby holding the bottles securely within the case.

Abstract: A device for the storage of sample containers comprises a holder for receiving the sample containers and a covering, whereby a common covering is provided for all the sample containers which seals them individually and simultaneously.

Abstract: A holder for open containers employs a pair of confronting parallel surfaces one of which supports a resilient material adapted to exert pressure against the open mouth of the container thereby to seal and hold the container in place.

Abstract: A rack assembly comprising mounting means for containers, e.g., test tubes, a lid spaced from said mounting means which cooperates with orifices in the containers, a flexible sealing sheet for sealing the orifices interposed between the lid and mounting means, and means for spacing the lid from the mounting means and for gripping the sealing sheet. Containers are inserted in the mounting means. The sheet is then placed over the containers, and the lid in turn placed over the sheet so that the sheet seals the container orifices as the containers are maintained in substantially fixed position by the mounting means. By agitating the rack assembly the containers held therein are also shaken. The rack assembly is easily re-used by stripping off and discarding the sealing sheet.
