  • Patent number: 10342185
Abstract: A sun tracking plant growing system includes a body having a first face, a second face opposed to the first face and a peripheral connecting edge which is relatively small, as compared to the size of the first face and the second face. A mounting enables the body to pivot about a pivot axis. Plant supports, which receive plants, are supported by the body. A sun tracking mechanism is provided which senses or calculates the position of the sun and adjusts the orientation of the body about the pivot axis to maintain a selected portion of the peripheral connecting edge of the body facing the sun so as to provide desirable and naturally attenuated sunlight exposure according to plants' needs on both faces throughout a day. This system allows that multiple rows or single row of the plural bodies are arrayed closely together without creating shadows to each other.

  • Patent number: 8577556
Abstract: The invention is an electronically controlled gimbaled platform that is installed on a vehicle. An illumination source mounted on the gimbaled platform provides a steady source of illumination in a desired direction. The desired direction of illumination is initially set and stored in a digital control unit. Subsequently, the digital control unit receives real-time measurements of instantaneous rotations experienced by the vehicle. The digital control unit uses the instantaneous vehicle rotation measurements to compute control signals that compensate for vehicle's movements. The compensatory control signals are communicated to actuators that control the orientation of the gimbaled platform in real-time. The effect of the compensatory control signals is to correct for the dynamic disturbances experienced by the vehicle and thereby provide a steady source of illumination unaffected by changes in the vehicle dynamics. Therefore, the invention facilitates in safer operation of vehicles.

  • Patent number: 7083052
Abstract: The invention relates to the display and storage of DVDs and CDs. By staggering the DVDs/CDs on a Spiral Rack, the invention makes each DVD/CD visible and easy to identify. The two visible spaces that are created on each DVD/CD by the staggering could lead to the standardized placement of titles and feature photos on DVDs and CDs. The Spiral Rack not only stores DVDs/CDs but also displays them beautifully, for commercial purpose or at home, where the Multispiral Rack can replace a floor lamp at the corner of a room.

  • Patent number: 6908000
Abstract: A modular corner shelving system has a plurality of panels arranged vertically stacked and spaced apart. Each panel has an upper surface, a pair of back edges, a back corner, at least one front edge, and a plurality of sockets. One of the sockets is a rear socket positioned near the back corner. Each socket defines a top receptacle accessible from the upper surface and a bottom receptacle accessible from beneath the panel. A plurality of elongate risers each have a lower end received in a top receptacle of one of the sockets of one panel and an upper end received in a bottom receptacle of a corresponding one of the sockets of an adjacently upward panel. The system can also have at least one turntable assembly positioned on one of the plurality of panels that is rotatable about a generally vertically oriented axis relative to the panel. Each rear socket can also be adapted to absorb forces applied thereat by permitting relative movement between a riser received therein and the respective panel.

  • Patent number: 6848588
Abstract: A rotating display holder for VCR tapes, DVD's, and video games. The holder is round and contains multiple sleeves or compartments to hold the above media items, such that the user can easily read the title of each on the spine of the item. In the preferred mode of production, the compartments are spaced apart from one another so that the user can easily place his or her fingers around the tape or DVD to conveniently pull the item from the holder. Importantly, the rotatable holder can hold a mix of VCR tapes and DVD's or games, saving a great deal of space for the user. Therefore, the holder can be placed in a cabinet with shelves for VCR's or DVD players, as well as in a wall unit or entertainment center. The rotatable holder may be produced in several sizes, such as a small and large size, and the holders can be stacked on top of one another to hold large collections of tapes, DVD's, and games. In addition, the rotatable holder may be motorized and remotely controlled.

  • Patent number: 6802481
Abstract: The inventors present an improved rotatable multi-receptacle support device. These type devices are commonly used to house up to four circular receptacles that can be rotated about a center post affixed to the ground for the convenience of the user. The improvements made to this device by the inventors comprise improved receptacle containment by forming the receptacle housing into a basket-shaped cavity with a top ring and a plurality of adjustable chain segments hanging below. This basket shaped cavity of adjustable depth can accommodate a broader range of receptacle shapes and sizes and provides better lateral support in instances where rapid removal and replacement of receptacles is required as in home refuse collection. An additional improvement is provided by means of a second structural support overlay, in addition to the primary support armatures, which connects the outer rim of each top ring to the center post.

  • Patent number: 6766912
Abstract: A secured receptacle holder having two-securing posts each with a clamping member and rib configuration. The posts are connected by a clamping screw that rotates clockwise to attach and counter clockwise to detach by a compression knob. Continued rotation clockwise causes the lower post to telescope into the main post while driving the clamping members toward one another. On other types of surfaces support is achieved by a pedestal base. The main post top has a rotator ring attached at its top end. One of the holders may include a support member, base support and support walls. The support walls and the base support are connected for holding the receptacles. Advantageously, one or more of the holders may be configured to hold one or more items or receptacles and the holders may have various sizes and configurations depending upon the number and type of items to be held or supported.
