Abstract: A storage rack having one or more clamps and one or more rails. Each clamp has two or more resilient arms attached at a first end to opposite ends of a rear section, such resilient arms having free ends which permit the introduction of an object between the resilient arms. In one embodiment, each resilient arm contains at least one aperture through which a rail proceeds. For at least one aperture, the portion of the resilient arm which forms the outer edge of the forward wall of the aperture touches a first side of the rail while the portion of the resilient arm which forms the inner edge of the rear wall of the aperture touches a second side of the rail. In another embodiment, a deformable extension proceeds to the rear from the rear section of the clamp and contains at least one channel through which a rail proceeds.

  • Patent number: 7374051
Abstract: A device and method are provided for displaying, storing and fixturing snowboards and glider type boards vertically either on the wall or supported from a floor stand. The device allows the quick and easy loading of a board and manipulating or adjusting the board's position. The device has multiple points or surfaces of contact, located on both sides of an elongated board placed in the device, which said points or surfaces may be cushioned, compliant and frictional so as to prevent board damage and to aid in supporting the edges of the board. The contact points provide frictional forces and horizontal vector forces which are the result of the downward gravitational vector force and slight downward movement developed by the weight of the board itself as it is transferred through the multiple contact surfaces.

The tool holder system includes a support structure having a plurality of receiver openings formed for receiving a tool, a plurality of recessed portions formed into a rear portion of the support structure, a plurality of fastener slots for securing the support structure to a wall, and a clip member formed to catchably engage within said recessed portions for securing the support structure to a pegboard. The clip member is comprised of a body, an upper hook and a lower hook wherein the hooks catchably engage apertures within the pegboard. The lower hook includes a lip for catchably engaging one of the apertures within the pegboard thereby preventing accidental removal of the clip member. Each clip member further includes an upper slot for receiving a portion of the support structure and a lower slot for receiving a lower cross member within the recessed portions.

Abstract: The rack is formed by spaced apart upper and lower rack members with a plurality of spaced apart slots formed in the upper member from a front edge and a plurality of spaced apart apertures formed in the lower member with each aperture aligned with a portion of an associated slot. Each slot has an entrance leading to a neck which extends to a bend. The bend leads to a closed end spaced inward from the upper member edge and which is located laterally from the entrance with the distance between the upper member front edge and the closed end being less that the distance between the upper member front edge and the bend. An elastic cord extends across the neck of each slot inward from and parallel to the edge of the upper member at about the position of the closed ends of the slots.

  • Patent number: 6364127
Abstract: The present invention relates in general display devices, and more specifically, provides a method and apparatus for a spring tensioned golf ball display and showcase. Specifically, described herein is a golf ball display mechanism comprising at least two bases, one having a stationary holding member and the other having a spring loaded holding member. The spring loaded member is loosely inserted into the first base and preferrably has a wooden compressor at its end positioned adjacent to a coil spring. The second member is firmly affixed within a second base. These bases are intended to be positioned opposite each other such that the member are axially opposed. Therefore, when the spring loaded member is depressed, the space between the two members is widened in order to insert the item to be displayed. Once the item is in position, the spring loaded member is released, thereby securely holding the item in place and on display.

Abstract: A low-cost holder for labeling and displaying a tool. A tool can be inserted into the holder using high-speed automated assembly equipment. The tools are typically hex wrenches, screwdrivers, TORX drivers, open end wrenches, box end wrenches or some combination thereof. The holder includes a substrate having at least one housing defining a tool conduit with first and second openings. The tool conduit defines a cross sectional area capable of receiving the tool. At least one tool retaining structure extends across at least a portion of the tool conduit so that a frictional engagement force is generated between the tool and the tool retaining structure. The housing, substrate and tool retaining structure are integrally formed as a unitary structure.
