Variable Elevation Patents (Class 212/111)
  • Patent number: 10023438
Abstract: A conveying installation that is positionable over an oblique slope of an opencast mine pit may be used to convey raw materials from a lower height level on an extraction level of the opencast mine to an upper height level at a ground level adjacent to the opencast mine pit. At least one conveying container can be loaded with raw materials at the lower height level and unloaded at the upper height level. At least one bearing cable for load-bearing and control and one traction cable for moving the conveying container may be provided. At least at the upper height level, a support element may be disposed, to which the bearing cable is attached and on which the traction cable is guided.

  • Patent number: 9145281
Abstract: A skyline transfer apparatus is disclosed herein having in one embodiment a carriage. The carriage in one form comprising: at least one carriage side-plate; a plurality of skyline riding sheaves rotatably attached at near and outbound end of the carriage side-plate(s). The skyline riding sheaves ride upon a tensioned skyline during operation of the carriage. A mainline attachment point is provided at the outbound end of the carriage side-plate(s). A haul-back line attachment point is provided at the near end of the carriage side-plate(s); and a drop line extends below the carriage to support a load. A jack is also disclosed, pivotably attached to an intermediate spar. The intermediate spar supports the jack above a ground surface between a main yarder and a strongpoint. The jack comprises at least one side-plate(s) with at least one skyline supporting sheave rotatably attached to the side-plate(s).

  • Patent number: 6272413
Abstract: While a crawler body 110 is traveling, infrared sensors 144 and an elevational difference calculator 132 incorporated in a controller 130 detects the magnitude of a step present ahead of the crawler body 110. A safety speed calculator 134 calculates a safety speed based on the magnitude of the step detected and on the position of the platform 116 relative to the crawler body 110, which position is detected by various detectors 141˜143 and by a position calculator 133. A comparator 135 compares this safety speed with the traveling speed of the crawler body 110, and if the current speed of the crawler body 110 is greater than the safety speed, then the comparator 135 outputs a warning signal. Upon receiving this signal, a restrictor 136 controls a valve controller 131 to reduce the speed of the crawler body 110 such that the crawler body 110 can travel over the step safely.
