  • Patent number: 7726497
Abstract: A slewing crane is assembled and installed at the end of a shipping and stowage container having block-shaped corner fittings. Left and right rotatable mounts engage top corner fittings on the container, and a cross piece section engages the rotatable mounts. A boom section has upper and lower hinges rotatably mounting it on the cross piece section via the hinges' axially aligned pins to extend outwardly from the cross piece section. A hoist on the boom section lifts and moves loads, and first and second displacement mechanisms connected to the boom section linearly displace the hoist and angularly displace the hoist and boom section in a slewing motion around the axis of the axially aligned pins. An element connected between the cross piece section and a corner fitting is tensioned by a turnbuckle to securely engage both rotatable mounts and hold the slewing crane on the container.

A horizontal expander coacts between the first and second distal ends for applying a horizontal engaging force between the opposed generally vertical surfaces of the vehicle compartment for horizontally stabilizing the base within the vehicle compartment. A vertical telescoping shaft having a distal end extends vertically from the improved hoist for engaging with a upper generally horizontal surface of the vehicle compartment.

  • Patent number: 7011486
Abstract: A collapsible, portable hoist that can be assembled and operated by a single individual, for lifting and conveying heavy objects onto and off of trucks, especially pickup trucks. When not in use, the hoist collapses down to a flat storage configuration that rests on, and is secured to, the truck's cargo walls without any portion extending beyond the truck. In order to deploy the hoist, one rotates its support frame up from the stowed position and then suspends from it the rail along which a trolley or other implement used to convey the object will travel. When the hoist is fully deployed, the trolley rail is mounted high above the bed, permitting tall objects to be manipulated. The hoist is constructed so as to be readily removable from the truck.

Abstract: A trailer-mounted crane apparatus includes a trailer supported from a ground surface on at least two wheels. A hydraulically operated crane arm is mounted to the trailer and is extendable outwardly. A crane hydraulic power unit is mounted to the trailer and supplies pressurized hydraulic fluid to the crane arm. A vibrational sheet piling driver can be supported by the crane arm. A vibrational hydraulic power unit for supplying power to the driver is mounted on the trailer. A control panel for the crane hydraulic power unit and the vibrational driver hydraulic power unit, and an associated operator's seat, are also mounted on the trailer. The crane apparatus includes wide tires for reducing the surface pressure under the apparatus. This allows the apparatus to be transported across and used on delicate surfaces such as golf course greens and other groomed surfaces.

Abstract: A hoist kit for vehicles such as pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles is described. The hoist kit engages a standard receiver hitch and when erect allows loading of the vehicle and optionally an attached trailer. The hoist when erect also can be used to lift or winch within all points 180 deg. behind vehicle to which it is engaged. Additionally, when used with a vehicle having a tailgate the hoist does not interfere with the normal operation of the tailgate. The hoist also features structural supports that are deployed to contact the ground thereby reducing the stress on receiver hitch and some structural members of the hoist.
