Abstract: A lift system having a modular backbone with two or more backbone sections being attached end to end to form the backbone. Also, a lift system with end to end modular attachment, using universal joints, between motor assembly(ies), shaft section(s), drum assembly(ies) and/or shaft end sections. Also, a lift assembly with a backbone having longitudinally adjustable lift component attachment hardware, such as an elongated slot with lips suitable for engaging a nut tooth.

Abstract: A telescoping boom mechanism for deploying an expandable structure, such a hoop-supported antenna, comprises a plurality of concentrically nestable tubular boom sections, that are mutually engageable with one another by way of roller assemblies and helical tracks formed thereon. The tubular boom sections are caused to telescopically expand or retract along a deployment axis by means of a rotational drive motor coupled to an outermost one of the tubular boom sections.
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing an excavator stick for transport includes a base supporting two symmetrically spaced platforms for use by a mechanic. The base comprises a saddle at one end for holding the back portion of the excavator stick which has been detached from the boom of the excavator, an excavator stick point support bracket at the opposite end of the base for removably engaging the front portion of the excavator stick which has already been detached from the excavator bucket, and an extendible fork-shaped excavator stick support member disposed between the saddle and the excavator stick point support bracket for supporting the body of the excavator stick in the excavator stick support eye region of the excavator stick during preparation for transport.
Abstract: Apparatus to temporarily enclose multi-story structures such as municipal water towers during sandblasting and painting to thereby contain the debris and overspray from the environment. A plurality of booms extending in an array outwardly from the top of the structure are temporarily attached to the structure. Hoisting and guide cables extend downwardly from the ends of the booms out beyond the outermost periphery of the structure. A plurality of fabric or plastic panels are supported on a framework in turn attached to guides on the guide cables and the guides are attached to the hoisting cables. The guide cables are anchored to ground. The hoisting cables are connected to a common hoisting engine. The entire assembly of panels can be raised in unison about the structure for daily activities and then lowered at night or quickly lowered in the event of high winds.
Abstract: A telescopic outrigger is swivel mounted and disposed so that it can be moved in the longitudinal direction in an jib trough. When the telescopic jib is in its horizontal or slightly inclined operating position, it is situated in the jib trough. In order to achieve a steep operating position, it is moved lengthwise in the jib trough in the direction of the jib tip, and is raised up about a pivot.
Abstract: A boat lift assembly wherein the use of a conventional cable system has been replaced with a screw drive assembly. The screw drive assembly eliminates all the safety hazards which accompany a cable operated system. Additionally, the use of aluminum components is extensive throughout to keep corrosion to a minimum. Further, Teflon and Lexan wear strips are used to eliminate friction problems between the relatively moving members.
Abstract: In a heavy-duty crane particularly suitable for lifting heavy loads over tall buildings, a substructure supports a rotatable main boom. A jib for carrying the load and a secondary spar for carrying a counterweight by means of a cable are hinged to the tip of the main boom. The counterweight swivels together with turning of the loaded crane. The jib is guyed by way of the secondary spar which overhangs so far that the counterweight is disposed beyond the confines of the substructure.
Abstract: In a self-propelled crane with a crane frame constituting the base for a telescopic boom an additional boom articulatedly supported to any other part of the telescopic boom than the upper end thereof or to the crane frame and an additional supporting arm mounted to the telescopic boom on the opposed side thereof in relation to the additional boom, said additional boom being supported by a wire which is supported both in a point of the telescopic boom above the mounting point of said additional boom and by the additional supporting arm. Both the additional boom and the additional supporting arm are preferably mounted in the same or separate mounting elements which are adjustably and controllably movable along the telescopic boom or the crane frame.
