Thus, when the fixing mechanism is in the first position, the inventive cap functions like a conventional non-safety cap. When the fixing mechanism is moved into its second position, the outer and inner caps are made rotationally independent, and thus the cap of the invention functions like a safety cap requiring simultaneous downward force and twisting to remove.

Abstract: A cap comprises a cap body fitted and secured to the mouth of a container, an upper closure provided in the cap body, and a ring-like member which covers the outer surface of a skirt portion of the cap body. The ring-like member and the skirt portion are coupled together through breakable bridge portions. These two members are separated away from each other via cut surfaces but are intimately contacted to each other at the cut surfaces. The cap can be easily removed by hand from the mouth of the container, and can be separated from the container at the time of disposal.

Abstract: The invention relates to a closure (1) for the security closure of containers. It is usefully applied in the field of diagnosis and especially on containers full of a chemical reagent into which a sample of a substance to be analysed is injected. The closure (1) is provided with a cap (2) having at least one portion (3) made of a material which can be pierced by a syringe needle. The portion (3) is covered by a cover (4). The cap (2) is associated to a first security ring (5) such as to detach from the cap (2) in an axial direction to the container. A second security ring (6) is associated to the cover in such a way as to detach therefrom following a raising of the cover (4) so as to uncover the pierceable portion (3) and permit a needle to be introduced into the container.

Abstract: A tamper-evident squeeze-and-turn child-resistant closure includes separate inner and outer caps each of integral monolithic plastic composition. The inner cap comprises a skirt with internal threads having application and removal lugs extending radially outwardly therefrom. The outer cap comprises an outer skirt having application lugs extending radially inwardly therefrom for engagement with the application lugs on the inner skirt to thread the closure onto a container. A pair of diametrically opposed tabs on the outer skirt have inwardly extending removal lugs for engagement with the removal lugs on the inner skirt to unthread the closure from the container. The tabs are resiliently joined at one end to the skirt, and are joined to the skirt at an opposing end by frangible links that rupture upon first inward movement of the tabs to indicate possible tampering with the closure.

Abstract: An open ended cylindrical chuck device has an inner fixing ring, an outer movable turning ring, and three movable screw threaded bars crossing the chuck device. While the turning ring is turned, the screw threads on the turning ring move three screw threaded bars to hold a bottle to be locked. A fixing pin crosses two holes which located separately on fixing ring and turning ring to stop their movement. A cylindrical cap with a regular lock locks the chuck device. Thus the bottle is locked.

Abstract: A closure for a container having a closure lower member and a screw cap in which the closure lower member is connectable with a base member to the container aperture. The closure lower member has a pouring spout connected to the base member. The screw cap has a cap bottom and a cap side wall with an internal thread adapted to be screwed onto and unscrewed from the pouring spout which has an external thread. The cap side wall of the screw cap in a region of its free end face terminates in at least one latching lug, the latching lugs of the screw cap co-operating with latching projections of the closure lower member to form a latch connection. In a screwing on direction the closure lower member has a shallow rising flank which merges into a steep latching flank and also forms the latching connection with the latching lugs, the connection being reversible by displacement of the latching lugs in relation to the latching projections.

  • Patent number: 5579932
Abstract: A tamper-indicating, child resistant closure for a threaded bottle includes an inner cap and an outer driver telescoped over the inner cap. The inner cap includes a top wall having spaced apart upstanding ribs. The outer driver includes a top wall having a pair of top wall segments hinged for pivotal movement to, and being spaced apart from each other by a spacing rib also forming part of the top wall of the driver. Each of the top wall segments initially is secured to contiguous sections of the outer driver by frangible, tamper-indicating tabs, and the top wall segments are moved from a generally horizontal position to a generally vertical position after the tamper-indicating tabs have been broken to form a driving section in the top wall of the driver. This driving section then is directed into the space between the upstanding ribs associated with the top wall of the inner cap by moving the inner cap and outer driver axially toward each other.

Abstract: A container having a removable stopper located within the neck of the container and a cap with a handle disposed over the neck. The cap, when removed and inverted, also functions as a tool or driver for removing the stopper. The handle assists persons with impaired dexterity in opening the container, and while a child may likewise remove the cap, the contents cannot be accessed and will not spill out because the stopper is still disposed in the neck. Further, the stopper being disposed within the neck places it out of the grasping ability of the child making it very difficult to remove without using the handle as a tool. The cap also has a tab or tabs on its inside, so that when the cap is removed and inverted, the previously external handle or tab is used as the driver blade and the previously internal tab or tabs are used as a driver handle.

  • Patent number: 5351845
Abstract: A generally cylindrical relative rotatable lock structure comprises three relatively rotatable coaxial members. The first and second members have generally opposed surfaces carrying connecting means which interengage to prevent relative axial movement between those members except in predetermined relatively rotatable positions. The third member is supported by one of the first or second members to prevent axial movement relative to the supporting member, but to permit rotatable movement. Friction between the third and non-supporting member causes the third member to rotate with the non-supporting member. The third member has connecting means cooperable with the connecting means on the member which does not support the third member to prevent relative axial movement between the third and non-supporting members except in predetermined relative position.

  • Patent number: 5295599
Abstract: A multiple cap arrangement is provided to seal the open end of a container. The multiple cap seal includes a sealing cap and locking cap which are hingedly coupled to the open end of a container such as a disposable centrifuge container. The sealing cap is lodged in the open end of the container and the locking cap coupled to the sealing cap by a mechanism that retains the caps essentially fixed relative to one another. With the caps coupled in this way, stress, resulting from pressure in the container, is transferred through the caps to the hinges. The hinges are sized to prevent axial movement of the interlocked sealing and locking cap structure away from the container. Since the hinges resist stretching even under substantial tension, the container remains reliably sealed even when the pressures in the container are very high.
