Abstract: Aspects of the present invention are directed to a child-resistant container comprising a lid and a vial. The lid has a side wall, an inner surface and a lid cover. The lid cover includes a top, a bottom, and a front surface and at least two lid hooks protruding from the bottom surface. The vial contains an opening accessing a cavity and a rim extending around at least a portion of the opening, the rim having at least two moveable tabs partially affixed to the rim and movable about a pivot point. The movable tabs contain tab hooks above the pivot point for engaging with the lid hooks to secure the lid cover to the vial. The moveable tabs are displaceable outwardly away from the lid to disengage the tab hooks from the lid hooks by pressing inwardly on the moveable tabs below the pivot point.

Abstract: A cap for sealing a cartridge includes a cap body, a plug, and a biasing member. The cap body includes a cap wall and an annular wall extending from the cap wall. The annular wall defines a channel within and includes a retention member having a barb, a stop spaced apart from the barb, and a base extending circumferentially about a portion of the annular wall from the barb to the stop. The barb, the stop, and the base define a retention channel. The plug is positioned within the channel of the cap body. The plug includes a plug wall and a plug member extending from the plug wall. The biasing member is positioned within the channel of the cap body between the plug wall and the cap wall. The biasing member is configured to provide a biasing force to bias the cap wall away from the plug wall.

The load bearing fuel tank access panel is configured to bear at least some of a wing bending load and comprises an access panel, a fastener, and a self-locking fastener mating assembly. The access panel comprises a body portion configured to be received in the fuel tank access panel hole, and a lip portion extending over an interior surface of the skin. In both embodiments, the closure has radially extending bayonets arranged around an outer skirt, which bayonets can be rotated into a position underlying semi-annular ribs in a beam molded integrally with the sidewall of the container. Rotation of the closure in the unlocking direction is opposed by a structure which requires depression of a release tab downwardly. In one embodiment, depression of the release tab requires that a frangible element first be fractured and removed from the container sidewall. In the second embodiment, depressing the release tab is made possible by a living hinge formed on one side of the release tab.

In addition, the two components, e.g., the cap and the collar, can be assembled prior to application onto the container.

Abstract: An improved closure for a container. The container includes a lip having a plurality of downwardly extending angled surfaces, each terminating in a recess, and a shoulder which defines an open top of the container. The closure includes a plurality of lugs which are configured to engage the angled surfaces when the closure is rotated and mate with the recesses to secure the closure in place. To secure the tabs in the recesses, the closure includes one or more springs which extend downwardly from the top of the closure and contact the shoulder of the container to urge the closure upwardly with respect to the container. To separate the closure and the container, the closure is pressed toward the open top of the container, thereby disengaging the lugs from the recesses and allowing the rotation of the closure to disengage the closure from the container.

Serrations acting between the tab and the bayonets provide an audible indication of rotation.

A closure has at least one skirt, at least one internal thread on the skirt, at least one flexible resilient ratchet finger extending radially inwardly from the skirt at an angle to the skirt, and a seal element within the skirt for sealing engagement with the end of the container neck finish. Threading of the closure onto the container neck finish brings the ratchet finger into engagement with the ratchet teeth. The array of ratchet teeth and the seal element are such as to accommodate tolerance variations in the blow-molded neck finish while maintaining a seal and child-resistance capability at the neck finish.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for metering a liquid nutritional supplement is disclosed and provides a liquid dispenser having a body that contains a predetermined number of single dosages of the liquid nutritional supplement, a cap, such as a child resistant cap, coupled to a neck portion of the body, and a dosage cup coupled to the cap. The dosage cup has at least four axial shoulders on an inside surface thereof wherein each has an engaging surface adapted to engage axial ridges of the cap. The dosage cup is coupled to the cap such that a force that is greater, by a predetermined amount, than the weight of the dosage cup is required to remove the dosage cup from the cap. The dosage cup is provided with an indicator adapted to indicate one of the single dosages of the liquid nutritional supplement to be consumed by a user for a predetermined time period.

Abstract: A storage device has a second cap for actuating a rod and permitting a fluid to flow through that cap. The storage device has an outer container and an inner container. Mounted at one end of the inner container is a first cap that rotates open and closed for allowing the contents of the inner and outer containers to mix together when desired. The other end of the inner container has an opening that is enclosed by the second cap that is operable to actuate the rod. When actuated, the rod pushes against the first cap thereby opening it in order to mix the contents. Moreover the second cap defines a plurality of holes adapted to permit a fluid to flow through them. The second element is threadable onto the first element to bring the peripheral walls into aligned abutment and the locking tabs into engagement with the locking projections to resist unthreading of the elements. The peripheral wall of the second element is inwardly flexible and resilient adjacent to the locking tabs to permit manual movement of the locking tabs inward from the locking projections so that the elements can be unthreaded from each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a closure system constituted of a closure cap, preferably produced by plastic injection molding, and a container part that is provided with a mouth, likewise preferably produced from a plastic material. The closure cap can be screwed onto the container part and the system is provided with a tamper evidence mechanism that has to be actuated twice to be overcome. The aim of the invention is to improve said tamper evidence mechanism and its handling.
