Lever Actuated Patents (Class 215/284)
  • Patent number: 10690162
Abstract: A resilient metal clip is suitable for use in securing adjacent panels of a knock-down structure, for example a collapsible container, to one another. The resilient clip includes two legs that extend away from one another, the two legs being resiliently connected to one another at one end in order for the legs to be resiliently displaceable relative to one another. Each leg has a free end, with the free ends terminating in panel engagement formations. A disengagement member is displaceably connected to one of the legs, and is displaceable relative to the leg between a rest position in which it does not interfere with an engagement formation provided on the leg, and a release position in which at least part of the disengagement member exerts a release force on the engagement formation of the leg.

  • Patent number: 7699182
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic container having a neck, shoulder, base and body portion. There are longitudinal base panel portions with rounded, longitudinal base panel edges separating each of said flattened portions from each other at a waist. The waist has a circumferential dimension less than the base and is positioned between the body portion and the base. The body portion is positioned between the waist and the circular shoulder and has flexible, substantially flat longitudinal body panels and rounded, longitudinal body panel edges separating adjacent body panels from each other and merging with the longitudinal panel edges of said base. The longitudinal body edges increase in width as the body longitudinally merges with the circular shoulder portion, and the circular shoulder portion has a rounded portion transitioning into and merging with the body panels, and a sloping portion of reducing diameter merging with the neck.

  • Patent number: 7533699
Abstract: The present invention provides an end cap sealing system for sealing an open piping end. The end cap sealing system includes an end cap having an end cap core. The end cap core has a generally cylindrical end with a circumferential groove formed around the exterior thereof and a closed end that defines a generally circular rim. An o-ring is positioned within the groove for sealingly engaging an interior wall of the piping open end. The end cap sealing system also includes a generally circular clamp having a channel formed therein for capturing the rim and a flange formed on the check valve. The o-ring being spaced-apart from the rim of the end cap core.

  • Patent number: 6276545
Abstract: A stopper for opened bottles having an external body (1) provided with an upper opening (4) designed to allow rotation of a lever (8) having an eccentricity (9). Operation of the lever allows, through an intervening arrangement of a cylindrical helical spring (22), lowering of an internal body (16) against a toroidal spring (15) causing radial deformation of the toroidal spring to allow gripping of the neck of the bottle underneath a shoulder on the bottle neck.

  • Patent number: 5375730
Abstract: An unloading valve for hopper cars used for transporting dry fluent material such as carbon black. An unloading pipe extends outwardly from the bottom of the hopper, and a closure removably attaches at the end of the pipe. The closure includes a plug extending within the pipe and presenting a surface that confronts the dry fluent material adjacent the inner end of the pipe. This surface has an angle selected to cause fluent material loaded into the hopper to become packed at the inner end of the pipe during loading and subsequent shipment of the hopper car. When the closure is removed for attaching an unloading conduit to the pipe, the packed material at the inner end of the pipe prevents any of that material from leaking out the pipe before the unloading conduit can be connected.

  • Patent number: 5078291
Abstract: A reusable closure device which is especially intended for use on conventional 18.9 liter plastic bottles in common use for supplying bottled drinking water. The device includes a plastic cap with a replaceable resilient seal. A pair of levers are mounted on the cap for pivoting movement between a first position which allows the cap to be placed on or removed from the bottle and a second position in which cam surfaces on the proximal ends of the levers engage a groove in the neck of the bottle to press the cap down on the bottle. The levers are approximately L-shaped and legs of the levers containing their distal ends interengage in the second position to form a carrying handle. At the present time, the abovementioned bottles are provided with non-reusable heat-shrink plastic caps which are discarded by users resulting in environmental waste. The present invention eliminates this waste.

  • Patent number: 5056676
Abstract: An improved bottle cap is provided for repeatedly obtaining airtight sealing engagement with a bottle having an annular external lip. The cap of the present invention is particularly well suited for sealing bottles containing sparkling wine or champagne, since such bottles conventionally include an external lip and since the cap of the present invention is able to seal gases within the bottle. The cap includes a housing having a central aperture for positioning over the neck of the bottle and having a radially inward directed flange for fitting beneath the external lip on the bottle. An activating carrier is movable within the aperture in the housing, and a ring-shaped pad holder and elastomeric pad are mounted on and are axially movable with respect to the carrier. A biasing spring is provided for acting on the holder and the pad to bias the pad toward sealing engagement with the bottle.

  • Patent number: 4651901
Abstract: A device for securing a dosing apparatus on a bottle, in order to ensure that the dosing apparatus is not unobservedly removed from the bottle, includes a plurality of securing members, each of which is hingedly mounted on the dosing apparatus. Each securing member cooperates with a substantially radial abutment surface on the bottleneck in such a manner that while pressing the end opposite the hinge against the bottleneck, the securing member presses the dosing apparatus sealingly against the opening of the bottle while cooperating in a lever-like manner with the abutment surface on the bottle. In this position the securing members are secured on the bottle by a sealing strip received in recesses on the end opposite the hinge and on the side of each securing member facing away from the bottleneck in the mounted state.
