  • Patent number: 7513444
Abstract: An apparatus for attachment to a bucket for holding a liquid is attached to a bucket with an upper rim. A bail is pivotally attached to the bucket as in a conventional arrangement, the bail having an upper position and a lower position. The apparatus has a housing with a pump operatively attached thereto, the pump having an inlet in liquid communication with the bucket and an outlet for facilitating the pumping of liquid from the bucket, preferably through a spray wand with a nozzle at the outlet thereof. A member is pivotally attached to the housing at one end thereof and has a notch in another portion thereof. This member has at least a first pivotal position and a second pivotal position. When housing is on the rim, the bail is in the upper position thereof and the member is in the first pivotal position thereof so that a portion of the bail is in the notch for thereby holding the housing to the upper rim of the bucket.

  • Patent number: 6936122
Abstract: An assembly for supporting a fiber optic termination or connector in a centrifuge and comprising a cylindrical body member having a top portion adapted to receive the ferrule body portion of a fiber optic termination or connector and a bottom portion for receiving a cylindrical piston/sealing unit. The piston portion of the piston/sealing unit includes a compressible tip which is adapted to a butt up against the outer end of the ferrule body portion of the fiber optic termination or connector. A cylindrical end cap fits over the upper end of the body member for holding the fiber optic termination in place on the body member and causing a seal to be formed between the termination or connector and the upper portion of the body member adjacent the compressible tip of the plunger. The parts, when fitted together, are placed in a centrifuge which is operated for a predetermined spin cycle, so as to cause any bubbles in the uncured liquid adhesive to be vented outwardly from the termination through the end cap.

  • Patent number: 5236409
Abstract: An adapter having a body and a cooperating cover with a seal therebetween is characterized by a stop surface provided on the exterior surface the body. The body and the cover are held together by a clamping bail that is either separate from or, more preferably, pivotally mounted to, the body. The bail is slidably movable over the body and the cover from an open to a clamping position. In the clamping position the bail abuts against the stop surface with the major axis of the bail being most preferably collinear with the major axis of the adapter. With the bail in the clamping position the cover is held to the body in a manner that compresses the seal therebetween. The bail is formed of a material having sufficient strength to withstand a vertical force created by the pressure of a liquid carried in the tube under centrifugation.
