Abstract: Three stick product containers. One has a removable top cap with a crown and a hollow base, such that the top cap can be removed and inserted into the hollow base. The top cap has associated with it a thumb lever push ring to prevent the stick from rolling when laid horizontal. The other container is more suitable, for example, for a lip balm that has a top cap with a living hinge that can be flipped all the way back, inserted into a plug insert hole in the base of the cap, and then the cap is used to support the container in an at rest position to prevent it from rolling.

Abstract: A bottle capping assembly including a “C” member having an upper arm, a lower arm, a stem section extending between the upper and lower arms, and having a laterally opening concavity formed by the arms and stem; a ceiling member, the ceiling member incorporating the “C” member's lower arm; and a frangible channel incorporated operatively into the ceiling member, the frangible channel being adapted for, upon an application of an upward force to the “C” member's upper arm, segmenting the ceiling member to form a fluid outlet port; the assembly further including a cylindrical wall fixedly attached to and extending downwardly from the ceiling member.

Abstract: A multi-purpose device is disclosed for opening beverage containers, such as glass bottles, plastic bottles and/or cans and for covering some open beverage containers having a neck, such as beverage bottles. The device includes a housing. The housing can represent various decorative forms of headgear. The housing includes a bottle cap remover and bottle retainer. For twist-off caps, a twist-off bottle cap remover can be provided that includes a cup-like guide member that can receive the cap of a beverage container. Ridges formed on and projecting outward from the surface of the cup-like guide member's inner circumference can be received by indentations between ridges typically found on the outer circumference of beverage container caps (e.g., bottle caps). By twisting the guide member, the twist-off cap becomes loosened for easy removal.

Abstract: A container for food and beverages with a fully opening end panel is provided. An end closure of the container has a generally circular end panel defined by a score line. A rotational opening tool is providing for contacting the end panel and separating the end panel from the score line upon rotation of the tool.

Abstract: An opening device for a packaging container comprises two operational parts: a membrane part ensuring a secure seal of the packaging container and a support part ensuring rigidity for the opening device. The opening device is characterized in that a membrane portion of the membrane part is mechanically attached to the support part to operate as one piece during opening of the packaging container, and the materials of the membrane part and the support part are thermally incompatible.

Abstract: An assembly that includes a bottle, a bottle cap and a tool for removing the bottle cap. A pry tool is provided having a lever tab, a thumb tab and a prying catch. A flexible restraint is used to attach the pry tool to the neck of the bottler. The flexible restraint passes into a groove formed in part by the presence of the bottle cap. The pry tool is free to rotate about the connection point between an engaged position, wherein the pry tool engages the cap, and a disengaged position wherein the pry tool is disengaged from the cap. When the pry tool is in its engaged position, the pry tool will pry open the cap when an upward force is applied to the thumb tab of the pry tool. This configuration enables a container to be held in one hand and opened.

Abstract: A cylindrical case receives a stick in a reciprocating manner so through an opening of the case. A cap is arranged to engage with the opening of the case. Engagement release of the cap is carried out by rotating an operating member. The operating member includes a peripheral member and an operating force imparting portion continuous with the peripheral member mounted on an upper portion of the case. When the operating force imparting portion is pressed downward, force apply points opposite to the operating force imparting portion impart a push-up force to the cap thereby releasing the cap from the engagement with the case.

Abstract: A device used to aid in the opening of a container that further protects against the inadvertent opening of the container, as well as provides greater hoop strength when compared to similar containers for use in, among other things, the containment, storage, transport and/or handling of a material, is described herein.

Abstract: A lever type easy pull crown cap. The lever type easy pull crown cap has a body with a boss extending from a central portion that transitions into a rim with an edge. A pull-ring is fastened to the crown body without piercing the body. An inner surface of the body includes a score line extending from the edge along the rim and across the central portion towards the boss and returns outward across the central portion after travelling around the boss to terminate in a tail segment. The tail segment extends along a portion of the rim without reaching the edge. Pulling upward on the pull-ring fractures the body along the score line and separates a tear strip portion from the body, breaking the seal between the lever type easy pull crown cap and the bottle.

Abstract: A bottle opener for a closure cap for a bottle neck, includes a hood equipped with a first hook including a contact surface with a lower surface of the closure cap, and a transmission lever hinged onto the hood and provided with a gripping section and a working section able to come to bear against an upper surface of the closure cap. It is also provided with two other hooks which include a contact surface with the lower surface and which are offset in the circumferential direction on both sides of the position diametrically opposite the first hook, by an angle of less than 90°, typically ranging between 40° and 80°, and preferably ranging between 40° and 50°.

Abstract: A fully functioning bottle includes a tubular neck portion with an opening closed by a crown cap, a tubular base portion, and a tubular transition portion connecting the neck portion to the base portion. The bottle includes a seamless outer surface having a channel positioned along the length of the bottle body. The surface is also deformed to provide a lip, which projects above the channel to form the opener. The channel has sufficient depth to receive a crown cap positioned at the end of a second container body. The cap frictionally engages the lip, so that cap is removed from second container body when the body is rotated about the capped end.

Abstract: A bottle-opener for a closure for a bottle neck includes a hood 30 equipped with a first hook 38 comprising a contact surface with a lower surface of the closure, and a transmission lever hinged 32 on the hood and provided with a grip section 52 and a working portion 54 suitable for coming to bear against an upper surface of the closure.

Abstract: A container having a damage-resistant finish ring and an opening sealable by a closure member that is removable by a hook-type opener is disclosed. The damage-resistant finish ring has a locking ring with a convex outer surface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a container closure with a handle, wherein the handle acts as a lever when squeezed against the neck of the container. The force on the lever handle is transferred to the container closure forcing a portion of the closure to slip over the bead of the container and release the closure's hold on the container's top. Once the closure's hold is released, the closure is easily removed from the container. The closure is reusable and can be replaced over the container opening to secure the container's contents for storage or transport.

Abstract: A container having a damage-resistant finish ring and an opening sealable by a closure member that is removable by a hook-type opener is disclosed. The damage-resistant finish ring has a locking ring with a convex outer surface.

Abstract: A press-on/pry-off closure includes a separately formed circular end panel, preferably composed of metal, and a surrounding rim composed of a flexible plastic, preferably a thermoplastic polyolefin. The end panel is top-side inserted into the rim and secured between a radially inwardly extending ledge on an interior sidewall of a skirt portion of the rim and a plurality of radially inwardly extending panel-retaining formations adjacent an upper edge of the rim. The skirt includes a removal-assist portion which, in the illustrated embodiment, is in the form a hinged tab integrally formed with the rim. The tab is outwardly pivotable about the hinge axis for applying a lifting force to the rim to facilitate removal of the closure from a container.

Abstract: A combination utensil has a one-piece plastic body with a bottle-cap-removing ring and an elongated bottle stopper projecting substantially radially outwardly from the ring. The ring has inclined end faces tapering toward the stopper and an opening positioned eccentrically thereof and extending therethrough between the end faces and defined by a frusticonical wall, the opening being chamfered at the small-diameter end. A metal plate is insert-molded in the stopper and has a lip which projects radially into the ring opening at the small-diameter end thereof. The inner and outer surfaces of the ring, except for the chamfer, are covered with a frictional cushioning material which defines circumferentially spaced ribs projecting radially inwardly of the frustoconical wall. The stopper is tapered toward a small-diameter distal end and its mid portion is surrounded with a frictional cushioning sheath having radially outwardly projecting circumferential ribs spaced axially of the stopper.

In order to display initial opening of the closure, approximately vertical weakened zones (4) are provided on the lower edge of the closure cap. The cap wall (2) will tear on initial opening of the snap closure in the area of at least one of these weakened zones (4).

Abstract: A bottle cap having an integral opener on a side thereof, which is capable of opening a bottle cap made of high strength metal sheet, is disclosed. The opener includes: two reinforcing portions, a head portion, two arms, a body and two branches. The head portion is rectangularly but gently bent or its edge is curled up inwardly in order to eliminate a sharp edge therefrom. The two arms connect the upper end of the body of the opener to the side of the bottle cap, and the body is reinforced with two reinforcing portions which are added to the left and right of a longitudinal center ridge. The two branches are divided from the lower end of the body of the opener, and are outwardly bent away from the bottle. Instead of the two branches, a ring may be attached to the lower end of the body, and, in this way, the user is not hurt, and the bottle cap can be opened with a reinforced strength.

Abstract: A container closure is disclosed having a metallic body and a plastic grip piece. The body includes a top panel wall, a skirt wall extending down from the perepheral edge of the top panel wall, and a linking protruding piece that protrudes from the lower end of the skirt wall. The grip piece includes a linking base portion that covers at least both surfaces of the end portion of the linking protruding piece of the body, and a grip portion that extends from the linking base portion. The grip piece is formed and is, at the same time, linked to the linking protruding piece of the body by flowing a plastic material from one side of the linking protruding piece that positions in the space of the mold. A plastic material inflow groove that extends from the free end thereof toward the lower end of the skirt wall is formed on the side of the other surface of the linking protruding piece of the body.

Abstract: A snap closure with original seal safety is particularly suited for bottles with bulging rim areas on the bottle neck. The original safety sealing takes place by means of a release element, which comprises a pressing element which is bounded on both sides by weak points. The release element forms a portion of the circumferential wall. In order that the release element not be torn further than desired, the weak points proceeding in the axial direction of the closure reach only into the area of an annular bulge positioned on the internal surface of the circumferential wall. The release element itself, which has at least one corrugation, is connected with the circumferential wall by means of a film hinge, and can pivot by 90 degrees upon destruction of the weak points.

Abstract: A tear-off container closure, such as a cap for sealing bottles, has an upper covering panel, a cylindrical cap skirt, a tear-off strip defined by score lines in the covering plate and cap skirt. The strip continues as (a) a tongue protruding outside the cap skirt and (b) a pulling member joined to the tongue of the tear-off strip. The pulling member includes a connecting portion, made of plastic. This connecting portion is joined to the tongue of the tear-off strip to form a joint between tongue and connecting portion which joint is resistant to tensile and torsional stress. The outwardly directed side of the joint is also provided with a protruding spacer, the upper operative surface of which is spaced from the root of the tongue by a distance substantially less than the height of the cap skirt.

Abstract: A closure particularly intended for sealing containers having products packed therein under high vacuum wherein the vacuum retains the closure in place and a very high lifting or prying force is required to unseat the closure from the container to effect the removal thereof. The closure is provided with a supporting band which is interlocked with the shall of the closure and which supporting band has integrally formed as a part thereof a lever which is engageable with a shoulder on an associated container to effect the necessary lifting or prying action. The lever and associated supporting band are preferably injection molded of plastic material and may either be mechanically interlocked with the closure shell or molded in situ relative thereto. There are also suitable tamper indicating means.

Abstract: A container of medicine has an open neck. A first cap detachably secured to the neck to enclose same has an outer major surface with indicia thereon. The indicia takes the form of peripherally disposed equidistantly separated numbers from one to twelve inclusing disposed in a complete circle. A second cap of like contour snap fits over the first cap and has a major surface overlying the corresponding surface of the first cap. The second cap surface has a window opening alignable with and exposing to view any selected one of said numbers. The exposed number indicates to the user the time at which the medication is to be taken.
