Vent Patents (Class 215/902)
  • Patent number: 6109468
Abstract: The receptacle is produced in a coextrusion-type blow molding process and consists of a stiff outer receptacle and an easily deformable inner bag which are made from respectively different thermoplastic materials that do not form a welded joint with one another. The bottom weld seam of the inner bag is clamped in a closed bottom web of the outer receptacle. The pressure compensating openings are offset by about 90.degree. with respect to the plane passing through the bottom weld seam and the longitudinal center axis of the receptacle, whereby the inner bag is only contracted at two sides when the receptacle contents is discharged. The negative pressure prevailing inside the inner bag is thereby reduced.

  • Patent number: 5921416
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of molding a double-wall bottle consisting of an outer bottle (12) and an inner bottle (14). A outer bottle (12) is first formed from a first preform by biaxial Stretch blow molding. After this molding step, a plurality of air vent holes (24) are formed in a biaxially orientated region of the outer bottle (12). Next, a second preform (70) and the outer bottle (12) are set together within a first blow cavity mold (100). Subsequently, the inner bottle (24) is formed by biaxial stretch blow molding from the second preform (70) while the air within the outer bottler (12) is expelled through the air vent holes (24). Circumferential concave ribs (22) are formed around the entire circumference of the outer bottle (12), and at least one of the air vent holes (24) is formed in a region either inside or outside the region in which the circumferential concave ribs are formed.

  • Patent number: 5873478
Abstract: A spill-proof cap or lid for a standard beverage container, such as a soft drink, water and other liquid bottle, includes a housing which is configured to fit over the container opening. The housing includes top and bottom, each of which includes a recess. A spout is mounted in the top recess and is pivotable between open and closed positions. A flow control section extends generally vertically in the bottom recess for receiving a flow control member. The flow control member is removably positioned in the flow control section and includes a flow control valve and an air intake valve. The spout includes at least one passageway which is in fluid communication with the bottom recess through a passageway extending between the top and bottom of the housing. In use, the cap is substituted for the conventional cap or lid that the typical soft drink, water or other liquid bottle is equipped with.

  • Patent number: 5871111
Abstract: In the case of over-tightening of the closure-cap on a beverage bottle (through turning in the wrong direction) there is the risk that, due to the high internal pressure, not only will the thread jump, but also that the cap will be ejected directly from the container. In order to avoid this risk, the invention proposes a screwable closure-cap with security against over-tightening. This cap possesses a ramp element (3) on the end of the thread oriented towards the cap-base, said ramp element being able to engage with the thread-start of the container mouth in the case of over-tightening of the closure-cap. As a result, the cap-wall in the area of the ramp element will be forced outwards in the case of over-tightening so that jumping of the thread in this region will be facilitated. In this way, jumping of the thread on one side only--on the ramp element side--will be achieved when over-tightening is continued, so that ejection of the closure-cap will not be possible.

  • Patent number: 5819976
Abstract: A promotional closure includes a sealed promotion-receiving member in the form of a compartment positioned generally within an outer closure cap, for disposition within an associated container. The sealed configuration of the promotion compartment desirably acts to isolate the promotional element therein from the contents of the container. Use on a container having carbonated contents is particularly facilitated by an arrangement by which a plastic film cover member which seals the compartment is sealed to an annular flange of the compartment to permit predetermined delamination and release of gas pressure from within the interior of the compartment.

  • Patent number: 5785196
Abstract: The closure cap of a closure and container package for a pressurized liquid is designed with a sealing flange which depends from the cap top at an angle to a sealing location on the container wall so that an increase in container pressure will increase the sealing force of the flange against the container wall. A pressure relief passage is provided downstream of the sealing location.

  • Patent number: 5699921
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for use in delivering air into the interior of a baby bottle while the baby is feeding. Thus, the device of the present invention enables a smoother delivery of feeding fluids to the baby while avoiding unwanted vacuums within the interior of the baby bottle. In its broadest context, the present invention includes a baby bottle having a bottom end with an aperture formed therein. A threaded bottom cap is adapted to be threadably secured over the bottom portion of the bottle. This cap portion has an aperture which is adapted to be aligned with the aperture of the bottom of the baby bottle. A one-way valve is adapted to be removably positioned in between the aperture of the bottom of the baby bottle and the aperture of the bottom cap. Thus, the one-way valve ensures that air can be delivered to the bottom interior region of the baby bottle without any air escaping from the bottom interior region of the baby bottle.

  • Patent number: 5692627
Abstract: The device offers an improved structure of bottom inlet nursing bottle, wherein an opening at the bottle bottom is provided with a unilateral diaphragm which can open only inward but close outward so as to help the baby suck milk comfortably together with the air introduced into the bottle from the bottle bottom. A protective plate is provided on the outer bottom surface and is able to open or close. An air inlet regulating device is provided on the protective plate and able to regulate the size of the air inlet so as to meet the different inlet volume of different babies. The air inlet can be closed so as to prevent the milk in the bottle from seeping out when preparing the milk and to prevent the warm-keeping water and the impurity in the water from infiltrating into the bottle when warming the milk.

  • Patent number: 5570796
Abstract: A nursing bottle's interior remains at atmospheric pressure during use so a baby nursing from it is not forced to suck so hard that air is inadvertently swallowed. The nursing bottle has a container adapted to contain liquid at its bottom and having an air space at its top with a first opening at its top for the reception of a nipple cap, a reservoir located adjacent to the air space at the top of the container, a vertical liquid conduit from the bottom of the container to the bottom of the reservoir, and an air conduit from outside the bottle to a point in the reservoir where an air space exists when the bottle is filled with liquid and inverted. The reservoir has a volume greater than the volume of the liquid conduit and has a shape which slopes downwardly to the point of communication with the conduit so that any liquid in the reservoir drains out of the reservoir when the bottle is in the upright position and is retained in the reservoir when the bottle is in the inverted position.

  • Patent number: 5542670
Abstract: A drinking cup has a cover which is formed with a drinking spout at one side and a vent at the other. Elements extend down from under the spout and the vent. A flow control element is provided and made of elastomeric material having a pair of spaced cavities on one side, each cavity having a floor at the bottom thereof. The cavities receive in frictional engagement respectively the lower ends of the elements. This engagement supports the flow control element with the floor of each cavity in sealed relation to its element. Each floor has a passage which is normally closed but opens on the occurrence of a pressure differential on opposite sides of the floor.
