Patent number: 10597906Abstract: A locking system includes a tamper-resistant lock and key. The tamper-resistant lock can include a cylindrical lock body with an upper portion having an engagement surface defining a pattern of engagement features, a housing, and a hidden component sized and shaped to fit within the housing that includes an internal lock base into which the cylindrical lock body fastens and a padlock pin configured to secure the internal lock base to a hasp or staple. The key operable for use with the tamper-resistant lock can include a cylindrical key body defining an engagement cavity configured to receive the engagement surface of the cylindrical lock body, a set of complementary engagement features, a plurality of retractable engagement members, and a retractable collar at least partially covering the cylindrical key body.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2019Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignee: ENGBAR INCInventors: Eddy Engibarov, Larrie Thomas, Dontcho Denkov

Patent number: 10132124Abstract: Disclosed is a tubular pipe string element having a pin connector and a box connector complementary to the pin connector. The pin and box connectors are rotationally engageable with the respective box and pin connectors of another pipe string element and have complementary anti-rotation devices that cooperate to prevent unintentional relative rotation between the connectors. The anti-rotation devices may include saw-tooth profiled, radially extending teeth and a steep trailing tooth flank angle for the pin member, and at least one detent member formed on the pipe string element for the box connector. When securing the pin and box connectors, the leading flanks of the teeth engage with the detent members while allowing the connectors to rotate into a fully connected position. The steep trailing tooth flank is trapped by the detent member when in the fully connected position to prevent unintentional release of the connection.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2014Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: OIL STATES INDUSTRIES (UK) LTD.Inventors: John Gallagher, Martin James Ward

Patent number: 4362035Abstract: A shield is rotatably mounted to a threaded element of the closure on an axis coincident with the axis of the threaded element, so that the shield impedes access to the threaded element. The shield can be removed from the threaded element or connected to the threaded element only upon actuation of the closure by an appropriate key. Absent such actuation, the threaded element cannot be rotated for disengagement from the conduit by rotating the shield. The closure is protected against attempts to disengage it from the conduit by bonding the shield to the threaded element with an adhesive and rotating the shield.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1980Date of Patent: December 7, 1982Inventor: Steven Vitale
