  • Patent number: 11373824
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a gas-insulated high or medium voltage circuit breaker including a first arcing contact and a second arcing contact, wherein at least one of the two arcing contacts is axially movable along a switching axis, wherein during a breaking operation, an arc between the first arcing contact and the second arcing contact is formed in an arcing region; a nozzle including a channel directed to the arcing region, for blowing an arc-extinguishing gas to the arcing region during the breaking operation; a diffuser portion adjacent to the nozzle, for transporting the gas from the arcing region to a region downstream of the diffuser portion; a buffer volume directly downstream of the diffuser portion; and an enclosure confined within a housing of the circuit breaker.

  • Patent number: 6717791
Abstract: In a high-voltage power breaker having an interrupter unit which is enclosed, with a gap, by a gas-tight housing (16) filled with quenching gas, the interrupter unit has two arcing contacts (1,2) between which an arc produced during disconnection is blown by means of a blowing device (5) with a quenching gas which afterwards at least partially flows away in the axial direction of the arcing contacts (1,2). In this case, the invention provides for a flow deflection device (9,10,11), which is not the same as the blowing device (5) and which deflects the quenching gas flow radially outward through more than 90°, to be provided in the outlet-flow area of the quenching gas.

  • Patent number: 6566411
Abstract: An integrated process for producing desulfurized hydroprocessed products from Fischer-Tropsch synthesis is disclosed. The process involves isolating and desulfurizing a methane-rich stream from a natural gas source in a first separation zone and a desulfurization zone. The methane-rich stream is converted to syngas and subjected to a hydrocarbon synthesis step, for example, a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis step. The products from the hydrocarbon synthesis step typically include a C4− fraction, a C5-20 fraction, and a C20+ wax fraction. These fractions are isolated in a second separation zone, typically via fractional distillation. The C4− fraction can be recycled through the first separation zone to provide a second methane-rich fraction for conversion to synthesis gas. The C4− fraction can optionally be treated, for example, with hydrotreatment or hydroisomerization catalysts and conditions before or after passage through the first separation zone.
