Fixed Patents (Class 218/125)
  • Patent number: 10553377
Abstract: An arrangement for a high-voltage circuit breaker includes at least one movable electric contact piece of an interrupting unit. The at least one movable contact piece is disposed on a switch rod and the switch rod is movably mounted between an outer region and an inner region of the housing of the interrupting unit. The switch rod is guided in a solely linear manner in the arrangement. A method for driving the at least one movable electric contact piece includes using the switch rod to move the contact piece. The switch rod is moved in a solely linear manner along the longitudinal axis of the switch rod.

  • Patent number: 7662208
Abstract: An electrical contact used herein comprises chromium; one of copper and silver; and a carbide, in which the electrical contact comprises a matrix and chromium, the matrix phase mainly comprising one of copper and silver, and the chromium being surrounded by the carbide and dispersed in the matrix. The electrical contact contains 1 to 30 percent by weight of a carbide, with the balance being copper. Another electrical contact contains chromium, copper, and a carbide and has a weight ratio of chromium to the carbide within the range of 1:1.5 to 1:50.

  • Patent number: 5557083
Abstract: According to the present invention there are provided a highly reliable electrode of high strength which undergoes little change even with the lapse of time, and a method for making the same, as well as a vacuum valve using such electrode and a vacuum circuit breaker using such vacuum valve. The vacuum circuit breaker has a fixed electrode and a movable electrode, each comprising an arc electrode, an arc electrode support member for supporting the arc electrode, and a coil electrode contiguous to the arc electrode support member, the arc electrode, the arc electrode support member and the coil electrode being formed as an integral structure by melting, not by bonding, particularly the arc electrode support member and the coil electrode being constituted by a Cu alloy containing 0.05-2.5% by weight of at least one of Cr, Ag, W, V and Zr.

  • Patent number: 5519370
Abstract: A sealed relay of the high-vacuum type, or which may be backfilled with a dielectric gas such as hydrogen-nitrogen mixture for improved arc suppression when switching high-voltage d-c currents. The relay uses controlled fixed contacts which enable use of a reduced-diameter disk-shaped movable contact. Thus permitting optimal placement of external arc-supporting permanent magnets on a ceramic relay housing in close proximity to the enclosed fixed and movable contacts. A staggered or offset positioning of the fixed contacts makes the relay polarity insensitive for bidirectional switching of high-voltage d-c currents.
