Resistance Inserting Patents (Class 218/143)
  • Patent number: 7343137
Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit comprising an antenna input (1), a signal input (2) and a signal output (3), and a switching unit (4), wherein the antenna input (1) is connected to a first protection device (6) against electrostatic discharges, said first protection device (6) being a band-pass filter in a ?-configuration. The advantage of the first protection device (6) is that it eliminates the need for a band-pass filter in the front end module, when used in a mobile telephone. Furthermore, the band-pass filter has a very good filtering characteristic, enabling ESD-related disturbances to be effectively suppressed. The invention also relates to a switching module and to the use of the same.

Abstract: A first switch (10) has a first pair of contacts (12, 14) that are mounted to move relative to each other in translation. A circuit-breaker second switch (20) has a second pair of contacts (21, 24) that are mounted to move relative to each other in translation, the second switch (20) being put in parallel with the first switch (10). A disconnector third switch (30) has a third pair of contacts (32, 34) that are mounted to move relative to each other. Synchronization means (50, 50?) make it possible, while breaking is taking place, for the contacts of the first switch (10) to separate before the contacts of the second switch (20) separate, the contacts of the second switch themselves separating before the third contacts (32, 34) separate fully. The synchronization means are actuated by a servomotor (40).

  • Patent number: 6284993
Abstract: A mechanism for inserting a closure resistor serves for an electrical switch which contains a semi-moving arcing contact secured to a metal rod connected to the resistor. The mechanism includes a metal tube mounted to slide on the rod and carrying fingers that plug onto a conductive plug of the switch. A switch is disposed between a shoulder provided on the rod and a shoulder provided on the tube so as to be compressed during a first stage of switch opening, and so as to exert a return force on the tube to displace it in the axial direction in order to separate the fingers from the plug during a second stage of switch opening. The mechanism also includes a system having at least one ball which locks the tube so as to prevent it from being displaced in the axial direction during the first opening stage, and which retracts during the second opening stage so as to release the tube so that it can be displaced.

  • Patent number: 6242707
Abstract: A current limiting device for protecting electrical circuits has a case and a pair of separable electrodes disposed within the case. Each electrode has a plurality of openings with an ablative member abutting the openings at an outer surface of the electrode. A spring is disposed between each ablative member and the case for urging the electrodes together. When the electrical current exceeds a predetermined setpoint the electrodes separate and an arc is created between the electrodes. The arc heats the ablative member causing expulsion of gasses which further increase the gap resistance and cool the arc to thereby quenching the arc. In a second embodiment of the current limiting device, one of the electrodes is a fixed electrode. The ablative member is disposed about a surface of the moveable electrode with a plurality of legs passing through a plurality of openings of the moveable electrode and in contact with an inner surface of the fixed electrode.

Abstract: A closure resistor assembly for high voltage electrical gear. The assembly includes a multiplicity of resistive electrical components aligned in a row along an axis, and a mechanism which exerts a compression force on the electrical components along the axis so as to maintain electrical contact between them. The mechanism for exerting the compression force includes a rigid tube within which the electrical components are stacked, and an energy-storing floating structure placed inside the tube at one end of the row of electrical components. The floating structure is constituted by a first piece disposed between the end of the row of electrical components and a second piece that is mounted in a fixed manner inside the tube, together with a spring that is kept in compression between the first and second pieces. The first piece is also mounted so as to be semi-moving between two abutments that are spaced-apart along the axis D.
