Plunger Jaw (e.g., Screw Actuated) Patents (Class 219/142)
  • Patent number: 11069991
Abstract: A joint of a copper terminal and an aluminum wire, the copper terminal is divided into a connecting part and a functional part connected to the connecting part, and an aluminum wire core of the aluminum wire is connected to the connecting part of the copper terminal. Preferably, the aluminum wire core extends or does not extend to the functional part. The connecting part is a component of the copper terminal that is connected with the aluminum wire, and the functional part is a fixed area of the copper terminal that is configured to connect to a power consumption device.

  • Patent number: 8450648
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrode holder to be used in welding that has a closed-end structure that removes the gripping problems inherent with open-jawed “tong-type” electrode holders. The electrode holder contains a grooved hole that allows tighter clamping onto an electrode, easing the process of bending an electrode by hand. The electrode holder also has a comfortable handle covered by a sleeve that keeps the electrode holder cool to the touch, allowing a welding lead to be fed through the sleeve and connected to the electrode holder without removing the handle of the electrode holder.

  • Publication number: 20020092837
Abstract: A welding electrode holder 10 comprises a body portion 12, a cable holding section 14, a cable collet 16 and an electrode clamping section 18. An electrical cable 20 from a power supply is held in the cable holding section 14 which is inserted into the body portion 12. An electrode 22 is inserted into an opening 24 in the body portion 12 and is clamped between the electrode clamping section 18 and a clamping head 26 of the cable holding section 14. Current is supplied to the cable 20 and is passed to the electrode via the cable holding section (which is electrically conducting) to the electrode 22 for welding to be carried out.

  • Patent number: 4591690
Abstract: An electrode holder comprises an electrically insulating tubular handle having at one end an axially outward directed bearing surface. An electrode-clamping head member is rotatably seated on such bearing surface, and a cable connector is axially slidable in the tubular handle and has an axially-extending threaded pin portion screwed into a portion of the head member. A coil spring surrounds such pin portion and is arranged to retract the cable connector into the tubular handle so as to hold the head member against the bearing surface. A radially-effective pressure spring is arranged to act between one side of the cable connector and the inner wall of the tubular handle so as to press the other side of the cable connector against the inner wall of the tubular handle.

  • Patent number: 4189202
Abstract: Rubber sleeve device for surrounding an electrical current conductor member. The device is adapted for axial displacement relative to the member as well as being prevented from turning relative to that member. The device has a first fastening portion in the form of a support ring composed of a heat-durable, shape-stable, insulating material embedded in the body of the sleeve. The ring is adapted to be in a fixed turning engagement and free fit relation with a fastening portion of the member whereby mutual axial movement of the sleeve and member is permitted. A second fastening portion axially bounds the first fastening portion and is adapted to engage directly and frictionally another fastening portion of the member whereby unintentional mutual axial displacement of the sleeve and the member can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4025153
Abstract: A connector apparatus to couple an electrical cable of a low-voltage power supply to an electrically-resistive heater strip carrying a layer of thermoplastic adhesive. The connector includes an elongated housing having a projecting support leg and a clamp jaw at opposite ends of the housing to support the housing so as to extend in a downwardly-inclined manner. The walls of the housing form an open cavity which is adapted to receive a helical spring through which a cable extends from an end wall of the housing to a connector used to secure the end of the cable to a bus bar. The bus bar is guided for movement along the length of the housing. The bus bar is urged by the spring toward the clamp jaw to grip the edge of the electrically-resistive heater strip used to heat in situ the thermoplastic adhesive that forms carpet seaming tape.
