Abstract: An operation management device performs an operation management for electric resistance welding in which a strip-shaped metal plate is formed to have a cylindrical shape in such a manner that both end portions of the metal plate gradually face each other while the metal plate is conveyed, and a Vee convergence section, which is a portion at which both of the end portions butt against each other while facing each other, is welded.

Abstract: A method for producing a metal sheet with a welded-on tube which has at least partially curved sections, wherein the tube is guided by at least one guide element onto the sheet, is pressed thereon with at least one pressure element and is welded thereto at least at some points and wherein the tube is bent to form the curved sections. In order to achieve the welding-on in a simple manner even in the curved sections, it is provided that a bending is carried out in a plurality of discrete steps, wherein in individual steps firstly the tube with the at least one guide element is bent around a last created welding point and thereafter a new welding point is created. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for carrying out the method.
Abstract: A guiding and shaping system for producing welded pipes made from metallic strip material. The guiding and shaping system comprises several pairs of rolls that are disposed one behind another in the direction of travel of the workpiece and are used for increasingly cold-working and bending the edges of the workpiece as the workpiece advances. First pairs of rolls grip the top side and bottom side of the workpiece while pairs of rolls that grip the external faces of the bent edges and form the shape of a pipe are provided in the region where the bent edges form undercuts. The guiding and shaping system further comprises a welding device. The workpiece is supported by floatingly mounted lateral rolls until cooling off following the welding process.
Abstract: A pipe processing apparatus containing a gripping mechanism with bracing rollers, further a drive wheel which is rotationally supported on the pipe processing apparatus and axially parallel to the bracing rollers and is positioned/positionable by its tread at such a site where said tread can make contact with the pipe held by the bracing rollers and can rotate said pipe by static friction; and a drive system to actuate the drive wheel.
Abstract: A method of continuously forming a dual seam welded tubular product includes the steps of providing two coils of sheet metal material, uncoiling the two coils and forming the material into opposing sections, bringing the two opposing sections together at a convergence angle of less than about 4°; and welding the two seams created between the two opposing sections. An apparatus is configured to bring the sections together at a convergence angle less than about 4° to produce the tubular product. The tubular product may have a diameter greater than 26 inches.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for joining pipe sections (102, 104) together to form an underwater pipeline. The pipe sections (102, 104) are in an abutting position and have a generally vertical orientation. The apparatus comprises at least two welding equipment carriers (148, 152) and at least two welding heads (110, 112). Each welding head is connected to an equipment carrier (148, 152) by means of at least one umbilical (130, 132). The apparatus further comprises a welding head guide assembly (113) which is adapted to be fixed to one of said upper of lower pipe sections. The welding head guide assembly (113) guides the welding heads about the pipe sections (102, 104). The apparatus further comprises a guiding device (133) which guides the welding equipment carriers (148, 152) around said welding area (115). The welding equipment carriers (148, 152) are movable independently from one another.

Abstract: A method for controlling the edges (7, 7?) of a foil strip guided in a shaping funnel of a device producing tubular bodies from the foil strip by an overlapping weld seam using a guide wedge, the strip being then welded. According to the invention, after welding, the method consists in using a linear infrared sensor for measuring and evaluating a temperature profile perpendicular to the overlapping weld seam. In case of variation relative to the specific real profile, a signal is automatically transmitted to rotate the shaping funnel with the guide wedge, the welding being produced by the high frequency (HF) and the temperature profile being measured directly after welding.
Abstract: During manufacture of certain hollow profiles suitable for use in car body construction the welded profiles are subjected to a further deformation process, namely hydroforming. At present the corresponding welding machines are charged manually. The invention relates to a method and a device for transferring hollow-profile blanks, characterized in that during transfer the positioned fusion faces of the blanks are pressed against each other at least in the area of the weld.
